  • few errors here... But still a great composition :D

  • Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as Chrono Trigger. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!

  • Gah i would be so proud if could make something like that. i would listen to my creation non-stop :'D

  • I'm playing this game blind, and I lost frog a while ago. I hope he comes back. He was cool. Don't tell me if he does.

  • Someone gimme a sword, I'm a gonna cut Mount Everest in two!!

  • @MegaDarknero Here! ... Oh, I shoulda... said think fast... oops... uhh... Flee like a loser? Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome job, for me it sounds even better than the original lol

  • I'd be willing to bet Tom has at least one cat. he seemed to put those random "meows" in alot of his songs. anyone who loves cats is awesome in my book already. but people who love cats AND can do this? (like HC Bailly) insta-subscription

  • Amazing *-*

  • I Like How You Used The Gameboys For The Powerful Notes. But You Missed A Few Out =-(

  • Get a life... but is very good!

  • @pavlosdias fail. stfu about lives. Where's your life if you are on youtube commenting to begin with? I HAVE SPARE TIME. Are you saying spare time = no life?

  • @Kokomokox in reality, spare time is a sign that you are better at life than them. you manage to get all your shit done and still goof off just the right amount.

  • Random meow is always good.

  • neow ! LOL that is funny as hell

  • I'm amazed that you did this in mario paint. I mean the Mario Paint Composer makes some amazing stuff, but the fact that you did this within the limitations of Mario Paint itself is all the more impressive.

  • Meow, Meow.

  • you did it well but it's just not a theme that fits on mario paint.

but you pretty much made the best of it, so still 5 stars.

  • @gott957 agreed

  • fuk yea dogg good stuff

  • of all the frog themes on MP yours sounds by far the best

  • Jesus, how do you do it without the middle tones?!?! (sharps and flats)

  • By transposing it from the original A-flat/G-sharp minor (which has seven flats or five sharps) to A minor, which has none. There are no accidentals in this tune either.

This is also why the tune sounds a bit sharp; it IS a half-step sharp.

  • Take this from one of your fans who isn't a musician at all with a grain of salt, it just feels a little bit too fast with too many overlapping notes. But then again this is a hard song to put together with this technique.

Anyways, still way better than what I could ever do.

  • Lol :)

  • It doesn't have the SHARP NOTES!!!!

  • unless you're joking, mario paint doesn't have sharps only mario composer does

  • lolwut noob

  • The only things that could be better was that you missed a couple of notes, and it was a little too fast.

  • I'm not sure they did. Remember, there's no sharp notes in Mario Paint, and they've only got 2 octaves they can use.

  • Great job, it sounds wonderful!

Some of you don't understand what arrangement means.

  • I hope your awesome talent will be put to good use.

  • i think its just a tda too fast 4/5

  • agree with some of the poeple, it doesnt quite sound like the original, but it still soudns VERY good, almost better than the original..kudos

  • uou.. u really r skilled!! I almost like this more than the original!

  • I have to say that thr are certan parts that dont sound like the original version which really let this song down, as much as you might not like to admit there are quite a few mistakes in this version I can spot pretty well, but its still good in its own right

  • this isnt made off of the original, its made off of the playstation version, thats why it "doesnt sound like the original" zork.

  • Just as epic as the original =] It really goes to show the creative skill put into these sorts of things with such a limitation!

  • insane job man

  • WTF IN THE REAL MARIO PAINT?

Some people just begin to become gods dont they

  • yes he uses the real one because of the dog in the corner the composers do not have it

  • This is pretty damn funny. Godd Job!

  • That was epic, rofl!

  • you shiuld do 1000 ad

  • i like the cat sound neow~ ㅋㅋlol

  • I love it ^.^

  • They aren't errors, they are changed that were required because of the limitations of Mario Paint.

  • took me a while to make the connection...not amazing, but some parts were pretty good.

  • This, sir, made you a hero.

  • You are officially one of my personal heroes.

  • Epic

  • Considering that the SNES version does not have sharps or flats unlike the computer composer, this video is amazing!

  • Specifically on the case of this song, some chords were out of compass. Even so, it is still brilliant.

Now, that other vídeo with the Robô's theme is AWESOME!!!

    I'm your fan!

  • AND FUNNY!!!

  • too cool!

  • HAHA, COOOOOOOOOL!!!

  • I must agree mostly with below post...

Though i've heard it doesn't go as high as it needs to in this, am i correct?

  • Meh

  • 10 stars

  • Awesome! And you didn't even cheat with a computer program, you used the original Mario Paint!

  • Must have taken a hella long time to make this,eh? great work!!

  • Awesome, Frog's theme has to be the best one on the game.

    Nice video. 5/5

  • a cat?!?!

    i r heard a mew

  • Don't know alot about Chrono Trigger, but I LOVE this song.

  • WOW, thats kinda amazing considering the tool used, Great work.

  • i wish i wasn't a dope fiend a year ago and still had my super nintendo and chrono trigger, not to mention ff3. sadly i sold my system and games for like 140 bucks, what a waste...i'll always have the rom, but it just isn't the same

  • Aww i feel bad for you i know how that feels, my nes!!!!!!!!

  • 10/5 this i just amazing. frogs theme is the best in the game and you recreated it perfectly

  • This made me fire up the old *COUGHemulatorCOUGH* SNES and play chrono trigger again!

  • If Frog were here instead of in 600AD he would give you the Hero's Medal because you, sir deserve a medal

This is WAY better than some people think

Especialy on the original Mario Paint

  • Where are the sharp notes!!!!

  • you can't put sharp or flat notes in the original mario paint for the snes

  • OK! I didn't know that!

  • this is really bugging me, it doesn't sound right... in the main part it goes down, when it should go super high.

  • Mario Paint's notes didn't go that high. :P

  • Oh my god! I cant believe i spent a long time making this song on Finale NotePad for cello with a bunch of sharps and extended fingers which pushes my abilities, when i could have done it without all of those! you are really great!

  • You are now my hero

  • This is my favorite theme from Chrono Trigger, and your's on Mario Paint is the best I've hear!

    Great job! a definite 10/10!

  • I was listening to this and thought there was something missing... then I heard a "meow," and it was complete. =3 Good job.

  • Amazing! good job. I really enjoyed it :)

  • It doesn't sound right because he can't get notes that high, so he uses the lower instead. Only the pitch is off when doing so, not the note itself.

  • That's fucking epic. You rock.

  • tombobblender's the man when it comes to mario paint composer =P. What do you use to record your videos? fraps?

  • *mario paint

  • I'm not sure if you should have switched the instruments for the main melody from trumpet to gameboy. Also, that part with the plane-guitar during the main melody's pause (da-nu-nah!) is near impossible to hear. D:

  • Ah, it doesn't sound right..but I can't blame ya. This is a pretty complex song, and you did great anyway! 5 stars ^_^!

  • EPIC

  • You did a good job with this one. There's so much going on in the song that it's hard to show it all without overlapping all your sounds. You made the best of the situation though... although it is rather hard to recognize in places for me. I'll agree with an earlier post and say it seems like it's the pitch or something... hard to put my finger on. Still... keep on keeping on!

  • I dont hear it at all....

  • so badass i loved mario paint XD good job

  • I hate the intro... but if you get past the first 20 seconds, it gets awesome.

  • I dunno man. It just doesnt sound right to me. I think its the pitch.

  • yea, something just doesn't sound right...can't place it though...could be the pitch...

  • Nah, it's not "the pitch". What you're thinking sounds wrong is how he's dropping an octave on the melody. Mario paint is terribly limited in range so he has little choice.

  • Someone should have you arrested for so horribly raping the English language.

  • GOt 2 of the 3 spelled correctly that time... getting better.

  • aaaaaaaaaa

  • It's okay...there's some funny notes here and there though....(I know I did this for my final exam in intro to piano...and then at the end of the year music show we got at our skoo)

  • i'm not blaming the video's quality for this but, i can't see a thing! there must be something wrong with my eyes...

  • annoying how you have to change octaves lol but your mario paint songs are totally worth all the trouble... their nostolgia and ninche feel are unprecedented

  • Sweet :)

  • yeah go to e-bay to get earthbound or play roms

  • I've always hummed along exactly like this because those 2 'gameboy' notes are a bit too high for me. I guess that means the limits on my vocal range is comparable to the limits on Mario Paint, heh.

  • Wow. This song is STILL awesome, even in something like Mario Paint.

  • Why does this suck? It could be so good!

  • I tried to do this song time ago.. and i got bored of doing it.. but youre the master xD

  • where can you get this game?

  • Mario Paint, or Chrono Trigger? Both are SNES games, and unlikely to be for sale firsthand in many places. Your best bet is a secondhand computer game shop, or ebay.

  • thanks. im gonna try and find it now. :)

  • and its possible to get mario paint composter on pc

  • Except that it sucks and shouldn't even exist. If you use Composer you fail at life.

  • why ?

  • Because Mario Paint Composer is EASY mode

  • agreed!

  • "Many places"? You mean nowhere, right?

A sealed copy of Chrono Trigger would probably sell for well over $150.

For comparison, there's a sealed copy of Earthbound for sale on eBay right now, currently at $212. It's item number 110234422151.

  • I've seen a Chrono Trigger game for 149.95, I'm buying it with my next paycheck. :3 Wish I could find EArthbound though, now that's a gem. :3

  • I had a Chrono Trigger game. Gave it to a friend some 10 years ago :(

Could get a couple of bucks with that today

  • what the?? really? $150?? Is it still packaged or something?

Last I checked the cartridge alone was only about $50-$75... Every now and then I get tempted to sell mine. But I don't think I ever could.

  • Wow, your SF2 and Chrono trigger tunes are amazing. keep up the good work (Magaman x3 opening stage maybe? :P)

  • i just get the exstars for the game and there is frogs theme and this sound to this is missing some parts

  • fuucking win

  • If i may make a suggestion, please put something with the megaman X series

  • Would it be possible to do World Revolution?

  • my favorite team is ayla, frog and magus

  • Whats your favorite team in chrono trigger mine is chrono, frog, and marle. Tell me yours

  • magus, robo, lucca, with that team you'll have a very badass triple technique to use if you have the right item ;)

  • i use chrono, frog and ayla

  • ayla is actually really good if you have the patiences to level her up

  • precisely

  • um...frog's theme is slower. sorry but i got the mp3. but the notes are very good. if it would be a bit slower, it would be perfect!

  • you do realise he is working with limitations ??

  • Yup. He's working with polyphony, octave and note limitations. Mariopaint was not the best music composing program since it was only designed for people to have fun with a very basic music composer. In order to convery any song, parts/segments/tempos need to be adjusted at times. Considering he has consistently done so damn well in all of his releases, he's due some respect. He's got this chiptune writer's :)

  • Convey, rather. Hooray for inability to proofread. -_-

  • O_O' Shit

    VERY GOOD

  • MEOW

  • I don't really like it. A few notes are off, too. Sounds weird.

  • Yes i agree at that point, some notes are a bit off, there's some note in there that i feel has disappeared too... but, what more could you do with the Mario Paint engine? This is a masterpiece when you think about what he used to create this. A painting game.

  • it's mario paint dude...

  • This is a masterpiece upon created! Your work is stunning!

  • Favorite Chrono Trigger song. :D

  • Awesomeness, You did my favorite song =D.

  • I praise you thy god of Mario Paint!!

...could you make Robo's or Epoch's theme? It would bring joy to my heart XD

  • Shame on me i just saw Robo's theme so make Epoch plz ^-^

  • Holy shit, this is amazing! By-far one of my favorite themes from the Chrono series.... now would you be willing to do Time's Scar from Chrono Cross?

  • You are awesome.

I almost cried tears of joy when I listened to this.

  • yes

  • Wow man...Just ..wow...You are a Mario Paint god...seriously

  • amazing.nice work!

  • Fantastic work, as is usual with your other works ;) Just a question, how long did this take you to arrange? It scares me just watching it :O

  • Jeez, how do you do that? Whenever I try to make music with paint it sounds like a dying animal...or something to that effect. Anyway, I'd really love to hear Your Not Alone or Protecting My Devotion from Final Fantasy IX.

  • My favorite Chrono Trigger track ever. Thank you!

I imagine this one was difficult due not only to the octave requirements but also the rhythm structure of the actual song. It took me a while to figure out where the beat was rooted, but after that I was jamming.

    Again, great job this one.

  • Thanks, this one was, by FAR, the most difficult to arrange in Mario Paint.

  • But it is fucking Godly. Great job

  • Nice work, but shouldn't that note on the "main" part of the theme be higher at the end? (hard to explain) You went with a lower note instead, curious as to why. 1:03 - 1:13 is a good sample of what I'm talkin about.

  • Because that note simply doesn't exist in Mario Paint. There is only one A, and that's in the second space (the 'low' note). This piece was very difficult to maneuver due to the octave limitations Mario Paint provides and the octave requirements that Frog's Theme requires.

  • I figured it might be something like that, either way, good job, keep'em comin!

  • Fucking GODLY!

this made me stop playing Super Mario Galaxy.

  • Sorry if it's been asked before, but about how long does it usually to take you to compose each sheet?

  • Depends, really. This one in particular took about 4 hours.

  • would it be possible to see wind scene(aka 600 AD)?

  • XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

    I love you.

  • For God's sake, man, play the game!

  • Damm you Got Skills...Hey how about Blaster Master Level 3 Song (NES GAME). You keep making these And I'll Keep enjoying them (DEAL!!).

  • Your best Mario Paint video yet!

Despite the involuntary drop in octave in the main melody ;-)

  • One of the best songs ever, but the change between the Fire Flower and the Gameboy kinda ruined it. Still awesome though.

  • With the constant shifting of the octaves of the song and the changing of the melody instrument from flower to gameboy to flower and back and the excess noise in the background it sounds fancy but distracting from the acual song, which was one of the best in the game. Pretty good job overall and it was a good idea to change the key to get rid of most of the chromatic notes, but it doesn't do glory to the actual piece.

  • nice

  • Simply Amazing. I'd give you some critique but I'm not really good at such things. However I would like to say I'm always rather excited when I see you have a new submission, and Chrono Trigger was one I've been hoping you'd hit on.

  • This will probably be a challenge, can you do Magus' theme? ( unless you already did it.)
