I have a question. I have had my vibrant for three months and recently I wanted to watch Avatar. When I clicked on the icon it says,"no data found". Can anyone tell me how to fix this so Avatar will be on the phone again. I don't want to download a torrent by the way.
@TrueGuidance222 Your best bet might be to take it to a T-Mobile store and ask you question there. I have the same question about the Vibrant's successor, the Galaxy S 4G. It supposedly has the movie "Inception," but I get the same error.
The move might have been on the original SD card. If you removed or formatted the original SD card, you may have wiped out the movie.
@TrueGuidance222 No, I don't know when Android 2.3 will be available for the Vibrant. I just read on a blog today that there is no date for that upgrade.
I have this phone and it does not lag or freeze the battery life is AMAZING!! lasting me for a whole 2-3 days the screen is absolutely beautiful even with full brightness off I love it!!
@j4avril1 The Samsung Vibrant, and any Android phone, requires a data plan. T-Mobile will not activate it without a data plan, and that will include Internet.
@j4avril1 If you buy it without a tmobile contract or from their store you don't have to have a data plan. I bought my phone from someone else on the internet and tmobile does not charge me anything. I use wifi and can make calls.
@301145gto The best option would be "Charge only," but you're not getting that. Select "mass storage." That should be fine. You may be using a charger or cable that is not made by Samsung, and there is a slight wiring difference from the genuine Samsung charger/cable. It won't damage anything, but it gives you this odd message.
@wirefly I am getting that to. I chose mass media and it said then "Connect USB Storage" so do I click that or just hit the arrow back key when it comes up. I usually just hit the back arrow key when these choices come up, is that OK or will it hurt my phone?
Oh and one more question, when I pull the cable out of the charging port do I need to eject it or something. I'm talking about a charger thats plugged into the wall to clarify it more.
@TrueGuidance222 What you're doing is fine and won't hurt the phone. Just select the back arrow when the choice comes up, and you don't have to worry about "ejecting" the phone when you use a charger. Are you using the charger that came with the phone?
The review is good but the phone sucks! It is laggy and not very fast when it comes to browsing web pages. I would rather have an iPhone because it's fast and no lag at all as well as an a4 chip
@paulgnc24 The guy who recorded that video for Wirefly was Ari, and he moved on to a different job in August 2010. I don't know if he had any involvement with unlockr dot com.
As for me, I honestly don't feel like a dud. And I have never had any involvement wtih unlockr dot com.
@eminemd12fan1 Ari wanted to move to a different city, so he found a job there and left Wirefly. He is missed, and he did some great work that I hope to live up to someday.
@paandesaal If you buy the Vibrant from Wirefly at the discounted price, you will have to buy an Internet plan. If you already have a Vibrant and do not have a plan, you can turn it on and get to the home screen. You will be able to connect to WiFi for Internet. But you will need a working SIM card to make phone calls.
@MegaMnguyen I don't know if you can revert back to 2.1 once you have upgraded to 2.2. There's probably a way but I don't know how. We're really enjoying Android 2.2 on the Vibrant here.
Questions - (1) can you tap from contacts list directly to turn-by-turn GPS? (2) can you do coverflow with the Android music player? (3) can you do hands-free voice command via Bluetooth? (4) can you play embedded flash videos? Nokia N8 can do all above. I am trying to decide between Vibrant and N8.
@mogulove24 The model in this video is the US version of the Samsung Vibrant. There may be a model sold in the UK by that name, but it is almost certainly somewhat different.
@011495lr Swapping SIM cards like that will work, but the carrier (T-Mobile) will start charging you for data at the highest rate. It's best for you to go to T-Mobile and buy a data plan so that you will not be surprised with a $500 bill.
@011495lr Yes and no. The Vibrant is "locked" to T-Mobile, so it will only work with a T-Mobile SIM. It is possible to buy an "unlocked" version for a lot more money, which will let it work with AT&T's EDGE (2G) network in the US. EDGE data speeds are much slower than T-Mobile's 3G network, so browsing the Web will be sluggish. You can still make phone calls, however.
i have this phone i got it because i didnt like the first phone i got from tmobile which was the lg optimus t i cant wait untill it gets the upgrade for the 2.2 android
Hey I was wondering if the samsung vibrant is 3G capable on tmobile because it says on tmobile.com it is but then it says it's on 1G or something like that
Good review. Suck it doesn't have flash on the camrea but thats ok. Still pretty nice. Now I'm guessing even if you werent on Wi-Fi you'd still be able to go on the internet obviously from the satellite?
I have a Vibrant, I thought it was the best thing ever when I got it. but now I'm starting to hate it, the Phone is so buggy. The GPS after the update fix, no longer works, When I'm on a call, and receive another, I can not see who's calling, screen stays black until call goes to voicemail, and so many other bugs.
Google is about to release 2.4 Honeycomb and we have no 2.2 yet. so Samsung and Tmobile really slow on updates. I wish I had waited for Nexus S, at least updates will come out sooner.
@Ninaki13th "Galaxy S" is a series of phones by Samsung. Each of the major carriers has a version of the Galaxy S phone and they're all slightly different. The version on T-Mobile is the Vibrant, then there's the Fascinate (Verizon), Captivate (AT&T) and Epic 4G (Sprint). The Epic 4G is the most different of the series, as it has a slide-out keyboard, front-facing camera and 4G capability. The new Nexus S is a variant of the Galaxy S series.

This phone is much like the Samsung Fascinate. But on this phone when you're switching from screen to screen you can see it kind of lags. As for the Fascinate it's super fast and responsive. This is a good phone, but I prefer the Fascinate

I hate the behold 2! It has like 8 hours of stand by time! it sucks! Sooo glad TMOBILE offered me this phone for no additional charge!!
Hey! Currently setting up my plan with T-Mobile (Yes! Getting the Vibrant, super excited!) And I'm not quite sure i fully understand the mobile internet usage. 200MB a month isn't a lot of space. I do about 3-4 facebook check-ins and the occasional Google search while not in a wifi hot spot. Is 200MB going to be enough? Or should I go with the unlimited usage?
@MaCrzySelf2 yes you do its a smartphone 30 dollars extra per month with the plan you choose but if youre getting this then its a great choice cus i love mine its so amzing and the screen is truly wonderful
i have this phone and i cant figure out if it has face time or not?and if not what is the camera looking thing on the front of the phone in the top left corner?
I'm about to trade my iphone 3gs for it just because it's been locked for more than a month and i'm tired to use it as an iPod touch. And the vibrant is awesome and worthy
Does anyone feel even though this a great review of this phone, that the voice of the person reviewing cuts right through your soul? That is how annoying it is! So sorry to the reviewer,I'm not judging but the whole "megapickles" comment about the camera just nearly made my ears explode in pain!
Can anyone tell me what the You Tube vids are like on the Samsung vibrant. Quality wise? I have heard they are crap.I also heard there is a way to get HQ You Tube Vids streamed on the Vibrant? Or are they vids comparable to iPhone 4 by default.I am thinking about getting the Samsung Vibrant. What would anyone recommend
@Winterhotsprings You can view YouTube videos in HQ mode on the Vibrant and other Galaxy S phones. Call up the video you want to see. Once it's loaded, touch the menu button, then touch the "More" button. One of the choices you get at that point will be "Watch in High Quality." Touch that and you're good to go.
@SabrinaBop96 Its going to be hard to text on the mytouch4g. the vibrant has the newest version of 2.2:) vibrant has the bigger screen:) so i would , pefer the vibrant. im getting mine christmas:)
i got bought this fone off sum1 but th person who sold it 2 me forgot 2 tell me that it was luck and i wanted 2 kno how 2 take that off or myb reset the fone to where it dont got no security luck on it... plz i need help
i have this phone, had it for about 2 months, mine is rooted and tweaked with launcher pro and its a super fast phone but there are just some things on this phone that i cannot stand! first off i hate that it does not run stock vanilla android that is my biggest pet peeve, next is the stupid power button and how its on the side of thephone that is really annoying, GPS is a joke on this phone, still running android 2.1 WTF?? gingerbread is already coming out, battery reading is completely wrong
I have this phone. Best phone I ever had. The only thing I don't like about this phone, is that if put the phone through heavy use, such playing music all day and watching videos for a significant time with this phone, the battery life isn't so great. However if you use the phone less heavily, then the battery will last you fine.
i cant wait to get this phone i dont know why people is upset that it dont have flash cuz u can always switch it to night mode if ur somewhere dark and i takes good pictures and videos without flash
@UnDErCoVErBoSS44 yea u get eveything that comes with the phone just not internet but u can I think use the internet over a wifi network and the market over wifi.

Winterhotsprings 1 year ago
@Winterhotsprings You can view YouTube videos in HQ mode on the Vibrant and other Galaxy S phones. Call up the video you want to see. Once it's loaded, touch the menu button, then touch the "More" button. One of the choices you get at that point will be "Watch in High Quality." Touch that and you're good to go.

i have this phone, had it for about 2 months, mine is rooted and tweaked with launcher pro and its a super fast phone but there are just some things on this phone that i cannot stand! first off i hate that it does not run stock vanilla android that is my biggest pet peeve, next is the stupid power button and how its on the side of thephone that is really annoying, GPS is a joke on this phone, still running android 2.1 WTF?? gingerbread is already coming out, battery reading is completely wrong
FalloutProductions1 1 year ago
How is the battery life and can you turn off all the clicking sounds?
XoJessicarawr 1 year ago
Can't wait till I Gingerbread comes on this phone. It's friggin Amazing
CertifiedNigger 1 year ago
I have this phone. Best phone I ever had. The only thing I don't like about this phone, is that if put the phone through heavy use, such playing music all day and watching videos for a significant time with this phone, the battery life isn't so great. However if you use the phone less heavily, then the battery will last you fine.

I need this phone thumbs up if you want this phone
