@pocketnowvideo, to quick find a contact, go to contacts, scroll down and youll see that white like cube , touch it and you 're scroling trough your contacts alphabeticaly, thats one method, the second i know it simply go to phone and if you remember part of a persons number simply write it and under it it should show you the contacst that start /end with those exact allingment of numbers... hope that helps.. ;)

To answer your question about searching contacts all you do is hit the search key on the bottom right. i figured this out within 5 min of adding contacts just thought i would inform you about that but great review! im a proud owner of a N1 and its by far the best phone ive owned and yes ive had the iphone 3gS its my opinion.

Hey, you didn't figure out how to scroll faster to a specific contact. Apart from the standard finger scroll, another way is to scroll a little, then while scrolling you will see this white fat squarish bar on the right, put your finger on that, hold down on that and scroll and then you will be scrolling faster alphabetically which tends to be easier that the standard scroll. I still for the life of me, can't understand why people are so trippy about multitouch. So what you can't pinch to zoom! Most phones can't! And then you try to put this off as a deal breaker. Like it's going to disrupt the balance of the Earth. Look! I hear it's a patent issue, so get over it. I think Google has some time before that get it just right. Bit they are heading in the right direction and fast. Basically, screw multitouch. It's not that important.

But the main thing about having a multitouch is: Since the multitouch gathers more than 1 point it's about 10 TIMES more responsive than a one point touch. By responsive i mean it's pretty much more accurate (Try to imagine a big finger selection a single spot, and it avoids the use of a Stylus.

the sdk for 2.0 allows multi touch so only 3rd party apps as of now support multi touch

just type in multi touch on the market and see all the apps that are multi touch

the browser pinch and zoom is very smooth and fast on droid/nexus

The nexus one actually has a multi touch screen (and OS) - only the google apps that came built in with it don't use it.

There are many multi touch apps already in the market, like the free to download Dolphin browser which is a multi touch browser that lets you pinch zoom etc.
