honestly the only reason why most people dont do it is because if you miss you look like a silly fool and your coach yells at you

Yes, players do this quite often from 3-4m. Something like a turnaround jumper in basketball from 3-4m.

This one was from about 10m.

It was 4 secs left from 1st Q of the Olympic final.

From this moment Russia was shocked and the final became a massacre.

Now imagine Kobe Bryant hitting a turnaround jumper from 5 ft behind the arc in the final seconds of the 1st Q in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

some things are, if a person is on you too hard, spin the ball and go underwater to draw a foul. Another, pass to the right side and drive with your defender on your left side then receive a pass from the right and shoot. always stay on your guy. that's basics.

on my team, haha just to mess around in games, when we got a 4 meter (which is now 5 meter) we would try to do a backhand for it. like you start normal, then cup the ball and spin around and backhand it. worked countless times because it caught goalies off guard.. and it was fun to do. Might not sound cool, because its hard to explain, but it was pretty sweet. GO WATER POLO!

y, sure it is common, even outside ten meters, but it depends on the goalie. many players couldnt score to that russian goalie from 7 meters, not a backhand, 3 secs till the end and from 10 meters.

Not really. Backhands are hard to expect, especially from 10 meters, and that was a VERY good backhand that skipped right into the corner. That was definitely the defender's fault, fouling him instead of pressing to run down the 3 seconds left.
