  • Yo dawg.

I heard you like voiceovers, so we put a voiceover of a voiceover to match a rat doing a voiceover.

  • The funny thing is if you watch Comic Book the movie you would see the voice for "The Brain" can and does the voice of the very comerical as Orsen Wells! His inspration for playing "The Brain"

  • Is funny, since is a very well know fact that Maurice La Marche(The Brain), did impresions of Orson Wells several times in his career.(Ed Wood, The Critic, etc.)

  • YES Rosebud Frozen Peas, full of country goodness and "green pea"ness

  • this doesnt make sense at 4 am

  • *video pauses to load* FFFFUUUUUUU

  • "impossible,MEANINGLESS!"

  • LOL XD

  • It's freaky how well this syncs up

  • Diidddd...... these commercials ever get done for real?

  • @nypad5 Yes! Orson Welles was the announcer for Findus Frozen Fish for a while.

  • @hankhayes Wow, that was good to know, Findus is a swedish company which I have never seen outside the country but if what your saying is right... then Findus have selled or sells still outside sweden :o

  • @hankhayes full of country goodness and green peaness.

  • That lip syncing.... jesus christ i just got hard

  • SHAKESPEARE wrote my BEST material; YOU, sir, are a HACK!

  • Oh, f*ck it. We'll do it live. We'll do it live!!

  • That is some *excellent* dubbing. :)

  • This is a real tribute to how brilliant the Pinky and the Brain folks were - and voice actor Maurice Lamarche, too!

  • "What is a gonk? You mind telling me what that is?"

  • @wceagle4life

It's like a "Narf" but from the outside.

  • "A big DDDDDDDDddddish of peas..."

  • This has got to be the EASIEST overdub ever made. The footage in question is itself doing a G-Rated reenactment of the Frozen Peas ad from which the audio is taken.

    That said, still humorous.

  • I noticed the director and......'engineer' seemed to be English not American.

Was this advert for England not the USA? Or did they just happen to be English?

  • As a radio producer, this is one of the funniest things I have ever seen on You Tube. My coworkers here at the station enjoy it very much, and thank you for putting it together so well! Expertly done! It's a classic. :)

  • @daryl060761 Thanks Daryl! What station are you working for?

  • @hankhayes CKPR/ ROCK 94, Thunder Bay, Ontario. :)

  • "This is a lot of shit. You know that.". ROFLMAO!

  • The lip syncing even matched for when he was swearing. They couldn't have made Brain swear for the sake of likeness did they?

  • amazing edit

  • The lip-synch is perfect!

  • Wait that's terrible, I quit!

  • If there are any English majors watching this vid, IS it possible to start a sentence with "in July" and emphasize "in" and not "July"?

  • @Bobzeaux It's not impossible, but it doesn't really make sense, which was his point. The reason you emphasise a word is to draw attention to it, and obviously there's no need or reason to draw attention to the word 'in'. I'd assume the director used the wrong word, or else was kinda dumb.

  • How the hell did he match the video with the released audio!?

  • @bsnxenogear Well, I used Studio 9 pro, and took my time :-)

  • @hankhayes Nope, conspiracy.

  • 00:13 Green Pea ness.

  • 00:13 Green Peaness.

  • Orson Wells is also Stewie Griffin! Personality-wise.

  • @Johnny2071 Now that's confusing because I never sense Stewie being like Welles. Out of concern of course.

  • That is SUCH a good dub...I just gotta say, that's a damned good dub.

  • I listened to the original Orson Welles commercial audition, and it seems different to this one, he sounds more tired and irritated, and alot of the ques are different and the way he says his words. I get the feeling he did this one to 'do it right' :D

  • ROFLMAO

  • Cool watermark, man.

  • Very good!

Kudos to you for making this.

  • AHAHAHA!!!! I never got the joke until now and I used to watch this show religiously. Thank you many, many, many times for uploading this!

  • Mahaaa the french

  • i know you've probably heard this alot but OHHHH MY GOD!!! you did an awesome job dubbing this! I applaud you!!

  • I have to say this myself, simply thumb-upping a previous comment saying how perfect this overdub is isn't good enough for me. This was an incredible video in terms of an example of a perfect overdub. I applaud you.

  • @needyhobo Well thank you very much!

  • @needyhobo here here! :D

  • Apparently, Orson Welles was recalled numerous times for this one batch of commercials. He finally loses it on this one.

  • "Yes, always."

  • This is hilarious!! I recognize all the audio from his commercial out takes. Maurice also did the voice of Orson Welles in the critic and that is just as funny.

  • You know, I remember watching this after school one day and I didn't get it then. This video sort of brings me into this gem of, what I consider to be, an inside joke. Thank you for creating and posting this video. :-)

  • @JLadicuss Thank you! I had been given a copy of the Orson tape many, many years ago, and I laughed my head off the first time I saw The Brain doing this!

  • Holy shit, that's amazing!

    That's something I havn't put in a comment in a long time

  • Genius! Sheer, unadulterated genius!

  • This is the kind of meta-reality-meta-internet-meta-animation I expect from YouTube and the 21st century in general. Well done, everyone!

  • Classic. Epic. Brilliant.

  • well, let me get the stairgh

welles is making a pea commercial,

    gets mad because is PEAS

    and argument with the director

    and get away right

sorry for my bad english, i am brazilian.

  • Best parody ever =)

  • IN my humble opinion, you can start a sentence with a preposition. OF course, what do I know. WITH so many other ways to work something...

  • jesus. what is a gonk.

  • Orson/Brain is right, you can't start a sentence in English with a preposition.

  • In which way is he right?

  • You should rename this video "ROFLMFAO" coz that's what I did. That is funny stuff.

  • What episode is this from?

  • Ok, WHAT!? Either this is an ACTUAL animated reference to the Orson Wells pea incident that was taken out of the cartoon show for obvious reasons, or whoever made this video has the BEST editing skillz I've ever seen in all my life. How did they match the cartoon's lip movements word for word? They MUST have been saying the EXACT same thing in the original unedited version, otherwise this is ASTOUNDING!

  • Maurice LaMarche, the voice of "The Brain" warmed up his voice by saying lines from Orson's recording session out takes. One day the producers of Pinky & The Brain agreed to use that dialogue in one of their cartoons, slightly altered fr children, of course! The episode is titled, 'Yes, Always."

  • Heheheheh! Man, a cartoon show to do a parody on this... man this cartoon was something else

When I first heard Maurice LaMarche as Brain, I just couldn't get Egon out of my head

  • This is a lot of shit you know that?

  • does anyone know where i can find the original pinky and the brain!?!!!?

  • I guess youtube blocks links in comments? I just uploaded it, you can search yes always to find it.

  • type in pinky and the brain yes always

  • type in pinky and the brain yes always

  • you got to admit, this guy is like a die hard actor, i mean this guy wont take a simple line that would pay 50,000$ without insulting his ego, give me an actor like this and ill give you the next orson wells

  • Shakespeare's King Lear has a few interesting in Act 1Scene 4 Lines: 190-195

    FOOL To GONERIL...

    Mum, mum!

He that keeps nor crust nor crum,

Weary of all, shall want some.

    Pointing to KING LEAR

    That's a shealed peascod.

These lines may have prompted Orson Welles to say at 2:27 'I wouldn't direct any living actor like this in Shakespeare!'

Its a tenuous association but a possibility...

  • An actor who does impressions? Metatext, anyone?

  • orson wells . just type frozen peas

  • Actually, I was referring to Maurice LaMarche.

  • I think this proves how smart Animaniacs and a lot of cartoons from this time were. I never knew what this was referencing back then. I thought it was fairly funny, but now I know what it's doing and it's absolutely great.

  • absolutely ......Animaniacs was brilliant. this was sooooooooo funny. loved it!

  • green peaness

  • lol an absolutely perfect mashup hahaha

  • was there REALLY that much swearing on this show?! I should start watching it again!

  • This shit is so fucking funny!!!!!

  • They sound similar but not enough.

  • This is incredible , I never had a clue and it makes something that was funny absolutely hilarious , thank you.

  • I want to hear the original! D:

  • Most of the audio is original.

  • orson welles & pinky and the Brain..the best of both worlds

  • oh my, this is soo good

  • that poor bastard.

  • HAHA! Watching this when I was a kid in the 90's I had no idea what this was referencing.

  • OMG! I never knew that cartoon was a parody of an actual event! I actually learned something on Youtube!

    Thank you,

    and

    GOOD NIGHT!

    Narf!

  • was watch?v=02mtTO1Y8Q8 the clip you used for this video?

  • Dude, this is the best overdub I've ever seen. AMAZING!

  • WHy thanks a lot AndrewGal! It was work, but it was fun!

  • wow, thats awesome. I never knew they were parodying orson welles in that scene.

  • in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck!!!

  • I think Brain sounds more like Vincent Price than Orson Welles...

  • Hey Hank, got a question for you, great job by the way. The Orson Welles audio bit about the "gonk"...that's not the Frozen Peas v.o., but rather the other infamous v.o. from his last film "Transformers: The Movie"...where did you find that piece and do you have the rest of it?

  • uncleJay, I was given a cassette tape with that little bit of Orson on it, and thats all I've ever heard of that one.

  • can you upload the audio to both the "Frozen Peas" clip and the "Gonk" clip while showing a picture of Orson Welles

  • "it's like a gonk but from outside" in the pinky and the brain version pinky said, "it's like a narf but from outside" i guess thy're trying to cover that up.

  • lololololol

  • LMFAO you have to watch the animaniacs one also to really lyao

  • ITA...the thing I love about these shows was that

they were cute but they were ones teenagers or

adults got the points to. LOL Pinky DOES look k-

ind of funny with that voice.

  • Can't believe I didn't pick up on this at eight years old.

  • this is the kind of stuff that YT was made for.

  • bravo

  • awesome!

  • So everything Brain said is what Orson said?

  • bravo...

  • Actually it is orson's voice from the real commercial.

  • exept for "if you show me how I'll go down on ya".

  • nope, thats real too. This skit is compiled from 2 voice over bloopers he did, you can tell by the quality toward the end.

  • I was reaplying to someone asking if this episode was word to word exact to the tapes, i was saying they cut out the oral sex refference.

  • lol, "You'll just have to find some actor who does... impressions."

I wonder if LaMarche requested that line as a kind of in-joke.

  • The writer, Peter Hastings, actually described the episode as "a $250,000 in-joke." It's all because Moe LaMarche used to recite bits from the infamous tape as level checks at recording sessions, so he did this short purely as a joke on that. (Note that, in the original, the producer, writer, director, and engineer are voiced by the real people--Tom Ruegger, Peter Hastings, Andrea Romano, and Harry Andronis, respectively.)

  • So what does brain actually say when Welles "this is a lot of shit you know that"?

  • Tripe.

  • He calls it " a load of tripe"

  • Absolutely genius!

  • This is amazing. Really.

  • This is a real episode with a voice over from Orson Welles? seems a lil to accurate.

  • This is an episode of Pinky And The Brain, in which they wrote dialoge based on an underground tape of Orson Welles having a bad day in the studio.

I synced the Orson audio to the cartoon.

  • You did a great job with it, too.

  • what was the real title of this great episode?

  • The original episode is called, "Yes, Always!"

  • welles said "ill go down on you" when the brain said "ill make u some cheese" now thats just good matirial, u just dont find this kind of genius nowadays

  • I feel stupid for not getting it...

is this a recording of Orson wells over Pinky and the Brain...

I WANT TO GET IT!!! ARGG

  • Yes it is. The idea is that The Brain is based off of Orson Welles.

This scene was originally based off a commercial that Orson Welles did where he got angry at the director or something.

  • It's such an inside joke. This scene was made for it.

  • I'd love to hear a double-mix of this, with both Maurice and Orson. Might be confusing. Would be awsome.

  • I did not get this until now.... like 10 years later.

  • Yeah...but it's awesome that we got the joke now xD

  • ROFL! Absolutely genius!

  • I wish they would show this on Jetix.

  • They do on Toon Disney

  • I know that!
