I was a staunch supporter of the NAACP until they supported gay rights. They must have needed money awfully bad to support SIN. No longer do I support the NAACP.
The good Reverend said something that can benefit all couples:
"Instituted for the happiness of our well-being and for the benefit of mankind
Marriage was not made for happiness alone, For the discipline and development of character, for mutual understanding, and unselfish devotion." worth remembering the night time you seriously disagree.
Wow! What a great show. And who was that hunk Saphire got as her escort?Too fine! And Kingfish was a riot at the Silver Slipper Cafe. I grew up watching the reruns on Sunday morning either before or after Wonderama with Sonny Fox. The characters in Amos and Andy were diversified peoples of the Black community! One question though, in earlier episodes it looked like they tried to darken Amos's skin!. In later episodes you see he is a lighter-skin black man. We come in all shades thanks to slavery
One of if not the best show ever. The actors were some of the best ever. The NAACP messed up working to get Amos and Andy taken off just like they did with Shirley Sherrod. They owe it to these great performers to try to get them the accolades they so richly deserve.
It's interesting. I've seen lots of other sitcoms that occasionally try to moralize, but they always fall flat. This episode, however, like the Amos 'n Andy Christmas episode, was a genuine tearjerker.
THANKS MATTHIAS 1949,for bringing back old memories of a truly classical tv show, that never really got the credit it really deserved.-Maybe One Day,Just Maybe.
That was sweet!!!
