i'm not saying he's a douche though.. but he's definitely very different from the other dudes on a personal level.. and those things tend to get very important aswell when you're touring pretty much constantly..
nothing wrong with triggering a drum kit...it's takes the place of mics, can be setup before hand to create a mix that the drummer wants, and it helps with smooth response from the kit
as far as what you hear on recordings in the metal genre, most drums are simulators via plugins anyway, unless it's a band who has money to throw down on good drum recordings, mixing, and mastering...which the majority of people that say they can "record your band" can't do
Kris man, what are you doing? WHY!!!! Why leave Darkest Hour? Just not the same without you. You are a musical genius but you have pulled the same shit as other incredible guitarist in the past like Slash and look how Slash's Snake Pit turned out. I mean c'mon buddy, get back to you being you and bring back the darkness of darkest hour.
@HeavyNutsTube Did he get kicked out? Thought he left for family issues and to pursue other music like his ambient band. If he got kicked out, bad choice on DH's part.
@HeavyNutsTube Good Call. I was raised to not judge people but Kris definitely comes off being an asshole. So if it is because he was a douche bag, makes sense.
@junkman25 It's hard not sound repetitive without a vocalist because vocals would cover the riffing....But regardless Kriss is awesome and doesn't need as far as I'm concerned
Good, but this guy should so go back with Darkest Hour. Mike Carrigan is good but I prefer Kris Norris by far ... :/ and this song does sound like DH.

I'm a Redneck, and love country music. A friend told me about this and I think its great. Not sure what you all mean by triggering the drum, but I think the drummer is kick ass. Outstanding rock and roll. Thanks to youtube and the people that post these songs, otherwise I would never be able to listen to such a wide varity of music. Hope to find the album someday.
@whitelinedrifter Triggering means to have a computer generate the same exact pitch for every hit, no matter how hard you hit it. That ensures perfect flow and sound, as well as control. It also allows you to go extremely fast.
@whitelinedrifter triggers are basically pressure sensitive devices attached to the drum heads that send a signal everytime the drum head is hit. they dont make you a faster drummer as some claim. but they do create uniformity and clarity in the sound.
Triggering drums is basically a sensor that goes off when you hit the drum, and "triggers" and electronic drum sound. People use it alot to get more of a "pop" bass drum sound instead of a "BOOM." Ignorant people claim its cheating and makes you faster though.
@xXDandZXx I just like music. I think it's funny how some people argue about something like triggering or non triggering. If you like it , great. If not, listen to something else. The drummer may or may not use triggers, but his hands fly. The song kicks ass and I like it. I wish I could play music but I never could learn how. It doesn't matter to me if it is rap, classical, the blues, anything. There is only two kinds of music, good and bad. This is very good music to me.
@whitelinedrifter triggering the drums is when they use a soft wear to make the drums sound perfect. (other words hes not playing the drums for real) is pretty much cheating but alot of drummers only use them for albums and not live shows.
@Mikewuzzhurr that's a gross oversimplification. drum triggers help make a drummers sound more smooth. which is why drummers are playing faster and faster parts now. some drummers are just plain fast, but also i think some abuse it though.
@ap3xultima depends on the mic. lol. Triggering the set or just the bass drum, makes it sound more solid. It makes all the hits sound the same. Sounds insane when the whole kits triggered, black metal uses it alot.
I really wish this video would capitalize on showing what this music makes you imagine!.....but I guess that would be pretty indescribable. (Depending how much of your soul you put into his music)
kris norris is an awesome guitarist. But I still think this song isn't good enough to stand on its own as an instrumental, it really needs vocals in my opinion
