hey READ THIS COMMENT!!! -- When you download video from xbox live marketplace, it is saved to the harddrive, right? You can also transfer that video file onto a usb (formatted to xbox). Using USBxtafXPLORER you can copy that video file onto your pc. It doesnt have a file type or anything and it cant be converted. So does anybody know a way, you can convert a normal movie into that format that the video taken the xbox was in. This way, if possible, you can effectively save movies to your HDD...

vlc doesnt have anything that says file first thing ont he top it says media.and i tried converting it to wmv and then put the disc in my xbox and it didnt play.

no not without being transcoded...i suggest using tanscode 360 v4.1 BETA or VLC360..I suppose the easiest way is to just use TVersity if you don't know much about computers but it's a CPU hog

nice vid but you dont have to do this. when you have a downloaded movie on a dvd. then just put it in the xbox 360 and go to video library and current disc and it will have a media update and it will play divx and all types. check out my video tutorial on it.

honestly there has to be a simpler salution for downloading a movie and watchign it on your 360 ... this video gets alittle complicated in places.

the simpler solution is xilisoft video converter but i thing it's a little slower than the vlc but it is 100% efficient and it's very simple to use

I followed your instuctions and get no audio on the encode. Is it possible that there is another piece of software needed to allow the WMA conversion? VLC doesn't seem to support it natively.

I got the faster way : just save as in media player 11 and save it as a .mp4 BOOM works for me :D takes like 2 mins on my pc

you click have to scroll over like one or two tabs to like your video tab and then you just scroll down and click where it says that...it will open it and then just keep selecting where your video is. i hope that made sense haha.

You can burn the files to CD\DVD or put the WMV files onto a flash drive set at FAT32. Not permanent but it's better for going back and forth from the computer and 360 when you don't have a router.
