Ok tough guy. Why not tell me of a single case in History where a Jew who lived in Iraq killed an Iraqi. I believe it was the other way around. If history serves me correct, Iraqi Jews were the ones being hung in the streets. I wasn't asking to come back, I was addressing a group of people that believed themselves to be Iraqis until they were pushed out of a country that they loved. As a child, many of my friends found it strange that one can be both Jewish and Iraqi at the same time. It is often difficult to explain to people. Even American Jews didn't understand it and were quite difficult at first, and did not accept us right away. But things are better now, as people are more informed.

There are organizations that are trying to do that right now. I believe we filed with them. Strangely though, I feel it would be bad to claim the land of our family in Baghdad. There are probably others living there now, and where would they go. Taking the land would just displace them and cause more anger. In principal, you make a lot of sense, but in application, it may be much more difficult.

Look, You are right about a lot of things. Until all the violence, most of the Iraqi Jews felt as if they were Iraqis. They were a large community, large enough to feel like part of the country. Throughout my childhood, they never spoke harshly about fellow citizens, whether muslim or christian. They loved their country and have the fondest memories of it. My parents specifically were among the last to leave. But the circumstances under which they left were pretty scarring.
