(First time I ever heard of someone saying something like that to actual ducks. I mean, swans. I mean, ballerinas playing swans. ^_^) (What do you say if you want to cheer up some swans? "Oh, cheer up, ducks." Obviously. But you have to say it in a British accent. ^_^)
"It's good to know that you're still Prince of Wales..."
I think Charles and Camilla were laughing *more* than the rest of the audience. How cute. ^_^
the final picture is fantastic. Rowan Atkinson, Eric Idle, John Cleese, Robin Williams, Bill Bailey, Andrew Sachs, etc. all on one stage! @rack1114 he's wearing it on his right cheek.
Here is the lyrics to the (altered) third verse if someone can`t hear them - I personally couldn`t hear part of it for some reason: When Spamalot is hot, and you like it, or per'aps not, a bunch of knights in search of Holy Grails, When you're sixty years of age, and your Mum won't leave the stage, it's good to know you're still the Prince of Wales!
Joan Rivers is a personal friend of The Prince of Wales; she visits the family every summer, and according to CNN was also invited to their wedding in 2005
I think I should have been born British. The comedy is simply superior - the comedians of Monty Python anyway, seem far more educated and multi-talented. Eric Idle should be king!
Oh man, this is the type of thing that makes me just love being 1/3 English/British. (I live in Canada so I never quite understood the nuances of whether to call someone British or English.)
Helps if you're Eric Idle, definitely. Helps *even more* if it's the 21st century and if a few more of the royals have more of a sense of humor about certain things these days.
There are *some* jokes that *nobody* could get away with, not even Eric Idle, not even these days. That particular joke? The general idea of it isn't even new, this version just has cleverer words and is in a song. People have been saying for years (decades?) that Charles must be tired of waiting.
What a collection of fine comic performers: John Cleese, Michael Mcintyre, Bill Bailey, Joan Rivers, Andrew Sachs, Rowan Atkinson & of course, Robin Williams.

@Cmil619 i think he was at a friends house having a meal and went to get up to go to the loo, but had a reall sharp pain in his knee, he needed knee surgery anyway, but they had to push it forward, so he has to be in a wheel chair until the surgery. im pretty sure thats why. he mentioned it on graham nortons show. im sure you can find it on here. hope that helped
That adlib by Idle was EPIC! "When you're 60 eyars of age, and your Mum won't leave the stage..."
WOW!
England, really, you NEED to make this your national theme, maybe an alternate for "God Save the Queen" or something...
And how amazing is it that as soon as Idle says "You know what they say..." EVERYONE knows what's coming... and they're all SO READY FOR IT! Who says English people are stuffy and don't know how to have fun!
From the States- I salute you, Python-esque England!
Ballet dancers, normal dancers, Marching Band, back up singers and an opera singer and it all just seems normal. This is just a song that you can't go overboard on. THIS IS BRITAIN!
Well, here we see it again: there's nothing new in the world! And it still works. That's great and I must honor Great Britain because you have those old men doing that old stuff and it is wonderful.
Specially thank you Eric Idle, you do that so fine. It really is THE GREAT FINALE.
This is BRITAIN!!!! I'm British and I am because of stuff like this - Hilarious comedy celebrating our Monarchy. Monty Python forever!!! I could quote them forever.
