  • Haha, classic Monty Python: Show starts with 1 person (1:00) Ends with... well... (6:10)

  • That escalated fast.....It jumped up a notch

  • was cleese wheelchair part of the act or does he really hav problems

  • @lukassnakeman part of the act

  • MANUEL!

  • pipe down high pitch woman...you are spoiling it!

  • I genuinely invisage my funeral to be like this

  • I love it when he says "Life's a piece of shit" :D

  • Very over the top LOL.

  • "Oh, cheer up, ducks."

(First time I ever heard of someone saying something like that to actual ducks. I mean, swans. I mean, ballerinas playing swans. ^_^) (What do you say if you want to cheer up some swans? "Oh, cheer up, ducks." Obviously. But you have to say it in a British accent. ^_^)

"It's good to know that you're still Prince of Wales..."

I think Charles and Camilla were laughing *more* than the rest of the audience. How cute. ^_^

  • Why wasnt Dylan Moran in it?

  • CLASSIC ILLUMINATI RITUAL, YOU ARE THEIR SLAVES.

  • traditional python shabolic scetch for an ending LOL dont ever change the upcopyable format

  • 7:02 The man in the background looks like Stan of Stan and Ollie and he even behaves like him

  • 7 dislikes? HOW CAN ANYONE DISLIKE THIS!??????

  • my day was not going well...then i found this! Now im looking on the bright side of life :D

  • absolutely amazing

  • ooh Jesus Christ this is bloody briilent!! 8D

  • If we can't have this as a national anthem, why not use it to promote the London Olympics? it would be more appropriate methinks ;-)

  • I love the look on John's face at 6:57 when everyone behind him boos him. XD It cracks me up.

  • is john cleese disabled?!

  • @hi101107 No! It was his act. He stood at the end.

  • Anyone noticed Eric say "Death" at 4:45?

  • @MattBirduni err, yes. It rhymes with "terminal breath".

  • @MattBirduni He always say "Death" in this song. It's part of the lyrics and we can't do anything about it

  • @Powersophie1 He says "death" because it rhymes with the next line :

"always look on the bright side of death

Just before you draw your terminal breath"

  • @MattBirduni do you not know the lyrics..its always been death...get yourself a copy of monty pythons "life of brian"

  • I'm Dutch and jealous when I see this.

  • How hard it must be for the Rifles not to laugh their heads off :L

  • english chicks are so beautiful

  • I love being English sometimes...

  • the final picture is fantastic. Rowan Atkinson, Eric Idle, John Cleese, Robin Williams, Bill Bailey, Andrew Sachs, etc. all on one stage! @rack1114 he's wearing it on his right cheek.

  • wheres eric's mircrophone?

  • Here is the lyrics to the (altered) third verse if someone can`t hear them - I personally couldn`t hear part of it for some reason: When Spamalot is hot, and you like it, or per'aps not, a bunch of knights in search of Holy Grails, When you're sixty years of age, and your Mum won't leave the stage, it's good to know you're still the Prince of Wales!

  • Geeze, you know you've done good when the Prince of Wales gives YOU a standing ovation!

  • @jgkloosterman not to be a downer but what has this person done in his life that makes his opinion so respected aside from being royalty?

  • @juki009 Well it's kind of the fact that he's royalty. They never get worked up over anything... You don't see the Queen get excited at Wimbledon.

  • Joan Rivers is a personal friend of The Prince of Wales; she visits the family every summer, and according to CNN was also invited to their wedding in 2005

  • does anyone know why joan rivers was on the show? i can't find any clips of it on here.

  • Does anyone know where I can view this in its entirety? I live in Canada and the DVD wouldn't play in my players if I bought it.

  • I think I should have been born British. The comedy is simply superior - the comedians of Monty Python anyway, seem far more educated and multi-talented. Eric Idle should be king!

  • this is one of the moments in television where you want to get up on that stage and jon everyone else whatever it's for

  • the best part is the fact that charles is singing along :D

  • i wish America had the brain to do something this funny and great

  • I can't believe I was actually surprised when Eric Idle popped up in a tutu.

  • @graceofbaal i was expecting him, but not the tutu.

  • Joan Rivers has LITERALLY no sense of rhythm...

  • @mentalguitarisist atrocious isn't she?

  • good ol' prince charles miming the words ahaha i defy anyone to say they dislike this song

  • ive always loved this song

  • Oh man, this is the type of thing that makes me just love being 1/3 English/British. (I live in Canada so I never quite understood the nuances of whether to call someone British or English.)

  • Funniest thing ever.

  • Life's a piece of shit

    When you look at it

    Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.

    You'll see it's all a show

Keep 'em laughing as you go

Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

  • did anyone actually see eric idle come on stage?

  • @veedubjelly just before they all lay down, you have to look very intently to see someone moving quickly in the background

  • @theOSeverenth haha thanks i'll have to watch it again

  • " Kiedy masz 60 lat a twoja mama nie chce zejść ze sceny :D" mistrzowska aluzja :)

  • cheeky old bastards, i love you!!!!!)))))))

  • fucking amazing , that eric idle is the dogs bollox

  • The ballerina looked exactly like the woman from desperate houseviwes...

  • Isn't it telling that EVERYONE, the audience and even the Royal Family, is clapping and singing along to this song?

Everyone knows it, and everyone loves it...

If life had a theme song, it'd be THIS!

  • so many awesome comedians on one stage! Amos, McIntyre, Idle, Williams, and of course John Cleese! what legends, and what a finale!

  • Makes me proud to be British!!

  • The look Cleese gave idle when they shook hands was 'Allright eric' nice to see they are still friends.

  • @batmanofni nah that looked like a cold hand shake between them. like we have to but don't want to. lol just kidding love them two. xx

  • That, sir, is how you end a show!

  • Almost more people on the stage that in the audience in the end :D

  • Woohoo! 108 thumbs up!

  • only eric idle could get away with that line

"when your 60 years of age and your mum won't leave the stage

its good to know that your still the prince of wales"

and make HRH laugh at the line. Notice even harry is singing along just shows this song can bridge generation gaps.

  • @markbarnett921

Helps if you're Eric Idle, definitely. Helps *even more* if it's the 21st century and if a few more of the royals have more of a sense of humor about certain things these days.

There are *some* jokes that *nobody* could get away with, not even Eric Idle, not even these days. That particular joke? The general idea of it isn't even new, this version just has cleverer words and is in a song. People have been saying for years (decades?) that Charles must be tired of waiting.

  • That must have been an epic birthday party.

  • How great would it have been if Rowan Atkinson gave Prince Charles a set of bunny ears right there at the end?

  • Ah, you silly british!

  • just genuinly missed the like button. feel like a douche :L

  • What a collection of fine comic performers: John Cleese, Michael Mcintyre, Bill Bailey, Joan Rivers, Andrew Sachs, Rowan Atkinson & of course, Robin Williams.

  • I think it's fantastic when the big band of soliders come on towards the end and start playing the whistling part with their big band instruments.

  • @FAWLTYWORZELMELDREW sounds like the bugles are putting a 'cookhouse' call in. 5.56 and 6.04

  • im the 300th comment!! a bloody glaswegian now has legal rights to the 300th comment! aaaaahahahahaha. awwww, come on, don't grumble, give a whistle! aaand, always look on the bright side of death, lifes a piece of shit, when you look it....

  • That ballet music is from Final Fantasy! I'd stake my life on it... just need to find a video to prove it...

  • @WarwickF400 dude its swan lake, I think youll find FF pinched it from the opera

  • gives a whole new meaning to the saying bring on the dancing girls

  • 7 people need to look at the bright side of this video

  • @LordGohda No, 7 out of 612 people have hand-eye coordination problems and keep missing the right button.

  • Yes, we're british, and that makes us bloody best!

  • Fernanda Olivera, the lead ballerina, is sooo beautiful. I heard her performance in the Nutcracker got catcalls from the audience. Now I understand why.

  • I agree with all my fellow Brits out there. I feel great about my country when I watch this.

  • This is the first thing i've seen in quite a while that makes me proud to be British :D

  • this should be our national anthem

  • @Neall07

    This is a international anthem!!!!!

  • @Neall07 lol i completely agree with ya!!! it just descibes england

  • I am so jealous of the amount of comedic talent, you brits have..

  • lol, i watched the whole thing again, just to see if eric idle was dancing with the ballerina's from the start

  • i say bloody brilliant good old Eric Idle

  • does anyone know where Eric Idle creeps in from? i 've watched this video loads of times but can never see him during the routine or a place for him to creep in between acts

  • @Daveish Maybe a trap door?

  • i love the changed lyrics :)!!!!!!!!

  • LEGS !

  • Being British = Always look on the bright side of life.

  • WE WANT MORE OF THE PYTHONS!!!!!

  • That has got to be one freakingly large stage!

  • this song makes me proud to be british :D

  • God Save the Prince of Wales

  • THE SONG HAS CHANGED!

  • @iEddiez94 they added an extra verse for this show

  • When I hear his voice crack, and yet see the smile in his face, I feel sad and nostalgic : (

  • What Happened to John Cleese?

  • @Cmil619 i think he was at a friends house having a meal and went to get up to go to the loo, but had a reall sharp pain in his knee, he needed knee surgery anyway, but they had to push it forward, so he has to be in a wheel chair until the surgery. im pretty sure thats why. he mentioned it on graham nortons show. im sure you can find it on here. hope that helped

  • @rockinjesus307 Yes, it does. Thanks.

  • That was just, awesome.

  • wonderful song.....

  • Still has nice legs.

  • That adlib by Idle was EPIC! "When you're 60 eyars of age, and your Mum won't leave the stage..."

    WOW!

England, really, you NEED to make this your national theme, maybe an alternate for "God Save the Queen" or something...

And how amazing is it that as soon as Idle says "You know what they say..." EVERYONE knows what's coming... and they're all SO READY FOR IT! Who says English people are stuffy and don't know how to have fun!

From the States- I salute you, Python-esque England!

  • "When you're 60 years of age, And your Mum won't leave the stage" EPIC!!!

  • britain is so ... so beautiful....

  • @Robi6942 Genius

  • I would have killed to go to this event lol

  • epic and hilarious

makes me wish I was British lol

  • Ballet dancers, normal dancers, Marching Band, back up singers and an opera singer and it all just seems normal. This is just a song that you can't go overboard on. THIS IS BRITAIN!

  • Comment removed

  • Besides the epic aspect of the video: those cabaret dancers looked amazing! One could not wish more from live than a wild party with those girls!

  • Good old Monty Python, never takes anything seriously. Thank God for them!!

  • whats the name of the song that they perform prior to Eric Idle's performance?

  • @RYANHENNESSY91 i think its swan lake

  • THIS IS AWESOME! Just lol. :D

  • Well, here we see it again: there's nothing new in the world! And it still works. That's great and I must honor Great Britain because you have those old men doing that old stuff and it is wonderful.

Specially thank you Eric Idle, you do that so fine. It really is THE GREAT FINALE.

  • @RapFusion This is what he sings:

    If Spamalot is hot

and you like it, or perhaps not.

A bunch of knights in search of Holy Grails.

When you're 60 years of age

and your mum won't leave the stage,

It's good to know that you're still Prince of Wales

  • This should be our national anthem.

  • This should be our national anthem.

  • This is BRITAIN!!!! I'm British and I am because of stuff like this - Hilarious comedy celebrating our Monarchy. Monty Python forever!!! I could quote them forever.

In fact the best ending to this would of been if Prince Charles would have gone - "I didn't want to be a King, I wanted to be a lumberjack!!!"

  • PMSL!!!!!

  • that would have been perfect!!!!

  • John Cleese and Eric Idle (no intention of diminishing all the other great comedians)... part of my and many's favourite comic group ever. Having the strength and determination to walk up on stage at such an age and make comedy like 30 years ago (if i'm not mistaken) deffinetly deserves my and all of our respect. Sirs, i salute you!

  • If you're 60 years of age and your mum won't leave the stage... LOL LOL LOL

  • Eric - always reminds me of a pratically perfect Rincewind.

  • Hey does anyone know if that was Tommy Steel?

  • Charles was singing along!!! Love that environmental freak!

  • Hey, is that guy playing a bouzouki? Or is it just a guitar?

  • what an entrance!

  • The dancer who starts the scene is amazingly beautiful ! I'm in luvvvvvv!!

    she can't be british can she :D :D :D

  • @N3wNaKeD oi oi we british have hot women! somewhere, i think......there must be! how about!...no ummmm i'll get back to you

  • I understand ow how the Britons won the WWII !

  • Only in Great Britain!!! Bloody Brilliant!

  • I know national pride is silly, but damn. I can't help feeling bloody amazing about being British.

  • @666satanification666

    You should be proud.

  • I thought you were hellish?

  • Not really, I may appear as hellish as it gets on youtube but I'm quite nice actually :) haha.

  • Hellish....sorry

  • @666satanification666 here bloody here!

  • @666satanification666 -there is so much that is wonderful about britain -and that is from an irishman !

  • @666satanification666 lol. Don't feel too bad. I wasn't born in Britain. But I definitely feel awesome about having a British grandfather.

  • @666satanification666

    duuuude...

  • Isn't it wonderful to Charles sining along thats what we need from a royal family Python fans!

  • Epic.

  • Can anybody at 6:58 hear John saying 'Fuck Off!' to the band? Python are brilliant. Just wish Graham could have been there :)

  • What an exceptional line up of talent. I've only seen Bill Bailey from this group but Hope to see more of them live in future.

  • "When you`re 60 years of age and your mom won`t leave the stage" lol

  • 3:46 Camilla looking like 'What on Earth is this Phillip?'

  • she's going 0.0

  • xD Tis amazing look, just looks completely dumbfounded

  • Philip? Don't you mean Charles?

  • Yeah... think at the time was remembering the Russell Howard joke about the Queen putting her head over the covers only and going 'Philip, look at me! I'm a stamp!'

Musta been on my mind =)

  • Well considering how sad Swan Lake ended, this was sure a much happier finish!

    "Cheer up,duck!"

Odette should have had Eric there!

  • Why the hell does john cleese have a black eye and why is everyone booing him during the thanks??

    Did I miss something? o.o
