  • Yoko had some great conceptual ideas, she just wasn't musically talented enough to express these satisfyingly through music (although I love Winter Friend and some others). But ruin John's life? Nah.

  • Is it a coke joke? A mirror, as if - for the sake of the family audience - it's about David's vanity. But in reality it's about coke and mirrors. Is that it? Is it? Is it?

  • Boring people...No actual sense of humor, full of himself and lame. She can't speak a word of English...I can't believe these two mean so much to some people...

  • John Lennon was just as cool as he was talented.

  • the interviewer has a massive face tan

  • He looks so fuckin' cool!

  • Yoko always loved being naked and she had a great rack too.

  • Around the time the Abbey Road picture was taken.

  • Isn't this Frost on Friday or Frost on Sunday?? (it's not Frost on Satuday, as that interview is 16mm kinescope)

  • are you sure this was 24th of april as he says happy birthday queen?

  • @MixxMasterKid - the Queen's birthday is 14th April, but her official birthday is in June, so maybe that's what he was referring to.

  • @RuleBritanniaGB My guess, he would love and hate it.

  • YOKO NEEDED TO GO ALONG TIME AGO.

  • @HannahHypnotize96 No. Yoko Ono is one of the greatest modern artists in history. She produced recorded and performed every single style of much that existed before 1975!! Including rave, techno, hip-hop, pure ambient etc. John Lennon actively seemed Yoko. Yoko was already world famous by the time John met HER......quit living in the past hippie, anyone who knows the Beatles knows they started they're break-up the minute Brian died.......

  • @JonnyCashmore Yoko isnt talented at all she can't sing, and can barely speak American, And Even after Brian Died the boys were still producing records that were pretty good. plus Yoko whether people thought she was talented or not, I think she ruined John's life.

  • @HannahHypnotize96 You mean she can't speak English...

  • @HannahHypnotize96 Making good records doesn't necessarily mean a band is getting along. The Let It Be album is fantastic but if you watch the documentary of the same name they were bickering through most of the rehearsals. I think Yoko is very talented artistically and has a good voice. It's just not mainstream and she's not for people who aren't open to the new or abstract forms of art. Saying she ruined John's life makes me think you're insane. Who are you to judge?

  • @Vader9 Who said I was judging? Because I think Yoko does suck, I believe she is not talented and ruined John's life? I have my reason's why I think this, it was only an opinion so calm down.

  • @HannahHypnotize96 You're welcome to your own opinion about her music, a lot of people don't like her style of music and I was just sharing mine. But saying she "ruined" John's life is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?

  • @Vader9 Not really, because you kind of have to understand how Cynthia, and Julian musst of felt, I'm not sure if you've read the book "John" by Cynthia Lennon, but she went through alot of shit, and she's suck a good person, and I think its kind of wrong about what happen to with yoko, once yoko came in to the picture it was like hell for the people he really cared for in his past life.

  • @HannahHypnotize96 Well, I agree with you on that Cynthia got a raw deal. If itYoko ruined anybody's life it would have been Cynthia's and Julian's. It didn't seem to upset John that much.

  • i think yoko changed john... she was definately another anna nicole smith, only more quiet... big druggie... she is.....

  • hahahahhahahahahhahahahaha dat vinyl

  • @SeagullTheFreegull what the heck was that record??? her squeeling like she did on the other show... great music... hahahah

  • Totally love Cynthia !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh Lord He's so coked up here.. Too bad he was killed right when he starting to truly grow up...

  • @puppiesinspace He did coke? I thought he quit doing drugs when he married Yoko

  • @ASGxZ WHAT!!!? Lennon became more of an addict when he married Yoko. He nearly died from a heroine overdose in the early 80s.

  • @puppiesinspace To say "He nearly died from a heroine overdose in the early 80s," referring to John Lennon, is a preposterous position to take. Do some simple fact checking, and you will see the point. By the way, 1980 (important year) is the last year of the decade called 'the '70s.'

  • @puppiesinspace Yeah ,met the love & soulmate of his life, had to (understandable)numb the pain with heroine.she didn't mind, junkies are easier to manipulate, and aren't as obsessed with sex (convinient) The dude was definitely already losing it here.Painful to watch how these two are so hellbent on presenting(pushing) themselves on mainstream U.S.A. Must be a masochistic streak there.

  • @puppiesinspace You dont know that at ALL...!!!!

  • @NonStopRocker YES I DO!!!!

  • @puppiesinspace oops my bad...im sure you guys were close friends...lemme guess...The National Enquire??

  • John Lennon was &still is an icon. His accomplishments &involvement in the World will forever be looked upon.

  • THIS IS WHAT THE WORLD DOESENT UNDERSTEND ; PEOLE LIKE ME AND JOHN

  • yeah!!!! sounds like a fuckin sonic youth record dunnit! johnand yoko was the first no-wave noise rockers. Gawd, man i need this album. i love the crazy shit johnandyoko done.

  • @RuleBritanniaGB is that why the hippies ideals became mainstream ideals later in life? haha come on, man.

  • yoko OH-NO!

  • Regardless of how anyone feels about Yoko or about the sheer weirdness of what was going on in this particular phase of John's life, just listen to his voice. It's like music. He always had such an innately elegant way of speaking and a wonderful wit and vocabulary. I miss him every day

  • @goldpet66 iagree absolutely :/

  • Bosie321 Lennon wrote some good songs -but some of these were just as commercial as McCartney's -eg All you Need is Love, Give Peace a Chance. Imagine. Starting Over. Woman. The idea that Lennon was the avant garde one and McCartney the commercial pop star is a myth. Lennon could often produce pretentious rubbish and many of his ideas were simplistic and ill thought out. The song that Frost played was pure garbage and wouldnt have even got airtime if it hadnt been Lennon

  • I love the Beatles, and Lennon was brilliant -but not as brilliant as McCartney. But at times he was so pretentious. Frost very successfully exposed him in this interview by playing the track of mindless noise and making Lennon look silly presenting it as something meaningful. Lennon could also be such a hypocrite. He claimed to believe in women's rights but not once in this interview did he let his wife get a word in edgeways....

  • @soulmate7 Lennon was a better writer than McCartney. McCartney wrote commercial hits for the masses, and some of them were great, but Lennon from about 1966 onwards wrote for himself and didnt care how other people judged him (i am the walrus, strawberry fields, revolution nice, two virgins, the plastic ono band record....all are terrific expressions of a unique artist) If an artist is judged by his/her vision then i think Lennon wins on every count.

  • "what is that saying to us, john?" "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........................... that's just saying what ever you want it to say." ----- good answer, i suppose.

  • why didn't the Beatles attend Woodstock?

  • @NinetiesYouth It wasn't "supposed" to be a big hit. I don't think anybody expected that many people to show up because they ended up spending more money than they earned directly although I'm sure it payed off in the future. The organizers had described it as "3 days of peace and music" and estimated 60,000 people would show up but more than 450.000 did and 250,000 more never even made it because of how crowded and muddy it was. It sort've happened by accident lol.

  • @inception951 whaddya mean "250,000 more never even made it"?

  • @NinetiesYouth As in, they simply couldn't fit that many people within the area assigned for the concert so about 250 thousand I guess just left because they either were too far away or they didn't expect to be there with such a wild crowd lol my driver's ed teacher said that his car door was ripped off by some big truck on the way there and when they fixed it, he just kept on going to the concert. Thats how crazy people wanted to be there.

  • @NinetiesYouth The Woodstock promoters contacted John Lennon about The Beatles performing. Lennon was agreeable but the rest of the band wasn't. Lennon offered the Plastic Ono Band as a replacement but the promoters said no.

  • @videofanism No, John Lennon was contacted to head Woodstock but he couldn't a visa because of his drug bust in 68.

  • A Beatles Wrekord

  • smack

  • My ears are bleeding - I'd forgotten how annoying Yoko was.

  • yoko was a dumb whore. still is.

  • They were both on heroin at this time.

  • john lennon is so over rated.

  • @matchbox555 his music isn't

  • Guys, stop trash talking John and Yoko. There was so much in there life that we nver even knew about. I think your mistaking you not understanding what was going on in there live, with being ignorant. So please lay off 'em:) thanks

  • THERE IS THE VINYL-LP FROM "LIFE WITH THE LIONS"????? WANNA HAVE WANNA HAVE WANNA HAVE!

  • He left the Beatles for .....THIS??? Yikes, they can shoot me instead!

  • @greenwich1754 you are a really sad pathetic little man...

  • @Middlesexful Pathetic, yes....but with a sense of humor.

  • @greenwich1754 great humor my friend -.-

by the way: john never left the beatles. he made his own thing with yoko because the beatles were divided at that time and in 1970 PAUL left the beatles.the same day the beatles were declared to be split. did you understand?

but (i calm down) if you think they should shoot you because of "unfinished music": i think so every single day of my life when im forced to listen to idiots like justin bieber or thos damn rappers. don't you agree this is better?

  • penis

  • Insanity at its finest xD

  • You can tell he was embarrassed

  • John sounds like Lily Savage but without the humour.

  • @Stryker146 John was ten times funnier than Lily Savage and about a trillion times more talented/worthwhile

  • @CommieCotch He was funny at one time but he lost it all when he met that aged beatnik talentless freak he committed adultery with and then married. He obviously brought out the worst in him. When I headed about the entire refrigerated room he and Ono had in their apartment(s) especially to house their multitude of fur coats that did it for me. What a couple of phonies. Imagine no possessions ... ugh! Well at least he had the grace not to pretend he was an animal-loving vegetarian.

  • @Stryker146 Why is it all the woman's fault though? It isn't as if anybody forced him to go with her.

  • I think Yoko met JL at a time when he was very vulnerable. Unfortunately she got him to buy into the notion that the work he did before he met her was worthless, and that this was real art. As George Harrison used to say, avant garde is French for bull****. Lennon never shook free of her, in some ways he died in 1968.

  • @livininomaha Yoko has a big bad ego and she put a spell on John and brainwashwed him to believe her.

  • @livininomaha Oh okay, so everything John did after he met Yoko was avant garde? I beg to differ.

  • @livininomaha well said!

  • is that jesus?

  • Ahhhhh i love them both soooooooo much john was definetly on drugs here . I know cause i've bin there ! x

  • John is being a complete ASS here but the biggest ass is sitting next to him ONO a leech poor JOHN blinded by not love but TRASHY SEX we all know JOHN was a bit out there when it came to sex

  • @LiberalBuster lol wtf? go worship rush limbaugh

  • Hahahahaha, Yoko's song in the end!!!

Man, sometimes I feel John married her just to make fun of her when he got bored

  • @LiberalBuster an idiot who will always have more love directed at him several years after his death. An idiot who wrote timeless and meaningful art, you most likely can't comprehend. He was a genius and you will never be...

  • He looks like Jesus and sings like God!!

  • Wow,, I am in! I'm going to buy this cd now!!! 2011 August!

  • i get it.

  • I don't have a clue why people compare Oasis to the Beatles. They don't sound alike at all. It was only the media who hyped it all up as per usual. Oasis sound more like the Stones if anybody.

  • @ltm789 and The Who...

  • @matheusdoria - yep agreed they sounded much more like the Who than the Beatles

  • 7:44 - 7:56 John Lennon predicts Modern music and Modern talent shows with astonishing accuracy...

  • fuckin yoko....enough said

  • sounds like star trek music...

  • Acorn seeds that John is throwing out to the audience to think about feeding mother earth for peace NOT war among ourselves. This was probably Yoko's idea! if John was alive, he'll probably have parkinsen disease & wheelchair bound!!!

  • i fucking love that song at 06.34. dose anyone know where i can download it from?

  • @steveoplacebo Your best chance would be at the local zoo. I'm sure they have recordings of their monkeys going wild. It may be a little more in tune, though.

  • That record is awesome because it exists.

  • That record is awesome.

  • revolution 9 part 2

  • I can get that in my backyard.

    Well said Mr. Frost.

  • I miss John so much.

  • Yoko is the worst singer I have ever heard.

  • I hate how some people assume music is only for nodding your head or dancing to and forget that its an art form too.

  • This was filmed on the day I was born, 14th June 1969.

  • Don't be made with me...I love John and all that he did in his life but he had very serious mental problems! he was sick..

  • Do you notice how talk shows used to be way more substanitive? There was more in-depth exploration with guests. Of course, the guests were way more interesting back then compared to now...

  • fuck yoko

  • I wonder how much those acorns are worth now? I suppose some are trees now.

  • Acorns for peace week

  • 6:44 you call that music OMG

  • fuck yoko !!!!!!! i love Cyn !!

  • that's actually shrooms he was tossing into the audience

  • fucking hell, 42 years on and yoko's music is still, erm, ahead of it's time

  • @jackotheripper hehe, yeah it could take a while, couldn't it?

  • @jackotheripper Sure you've got the right word there? Ahead of its time?

  • @jackotheripper hehe. it does sound like not a bad folk song though

  • After listening to Yoko's screaming David Frost asks, "... what is that saying to us..."

Lennon: "its saying whatever you want it to say......you either get it or you don't." Fab! Truly a screeching horror that only God's lowest primates would "get it." Yet another example of why not to use herion.

  • Playing records on TV. I love it! Whole lotta Yoko!

  • im gonna give my mom a Box of Smile for mothers day. today~ :D

  • a box of smiles??shut up ya hippy and play some songs!!

  • John Lennon wrote some great songs but where was the person to tell him that recording rubbish like this did nothing to enhance his standing in music

  • GENIUS.

  • aha. this is great. this album is random. I like random....which is probably why im in love with John. <3

  • 6:07 - 6:46 ROFLOL

  • What's the name of the album they are playing from?

  • My cousin was born on John lennon's birthday she's so fucking lucky lol I love John he's so funny <33

  • "Happy birthday queen, as well!" HAHAHAHAHA Only John!!! XD

  • Can't believe people laughed when he said "...having 'me' miscarriage".....

that's sort of fucked up, don't u think?

  • lol, look at John's reaction to the music 9:04

    AHAHAH

    and he's so coked up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jammmon he was actually doing H at this time of his life as well I believe... someone correct me if I'm wrong about what time frame in his life his H addiction was.

  • Jesus fucking Christ Ono's singing voice sounds like a cat in heat...

  • Well i...uhh... haven't heard anything quite like that before. i bet the audience was thinking 'what an earth is this?' , i know i sure was thinking that but i do understand where John and Yoko are coming from with their point though.

  • Listen tasty vegetable kiddies! Stop all the raddishing and remember to have bean smiling!

  • oh look its the lunatic left wing drug addict john lenin

  • avant garde is meant to make you think and reflect your own thoughts while being influenced by it, i don't think it can be classed as 'good' or 'bad' because it's a completely different concept with a different aim to pop music.

  • Greatest rock group of ALL time, period, end of story !

  • @TheDouglas58 Agree 100%-we'll never see that kind of musical joy again.

  • You know, I think John Lennon was wildly talented in ways he took for granted, and very untalented in other ways. The album he was promoting here was sheer, unmitigated garbage. Yet, this is the same guy who belted out "Twist & Shout" and "Bad Boy" and wrote songs like "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Ticket To Ride." If nothing else, I guess you could always say he was interesting.

  • @billbadford

I agree with everything you said. However, 'Two Virgins' and 'Life with the Lions', although utter rubbish wasn't intended to be considered in the same way as other records he made were. Lennon and Yoko made it out of pure expression and 'Why not?' attitude. In an interview with an angry reporter who thought the two were idiots for staying in bed for peace when war is a serious thing, Lennon said 'Well then let me be a clown for peace then'. They knew what they were doing.

  • @danutcase66 I'm not sure about it, I think John believed he knew what he was doing but he really didn't (well, some of the time at least) I think he believed in many things that weren't real and everything went down from there, he probably grew some wisdom/awareness in his last years though

  • @Juliasaysshutup

He turned more 'Normal' in 1980 yeah which is a shame. There was huge talk at the time about the The Beatles getting back together and I absolutely believe they would have which makes his death not only saddening but mostly fucking frustrating. There is a thin line between artistic pretention and artistic genius - you could argue it is the same thing interpretted differently. The only way you can be genius is if you boldly dive into art which John and Yoko did. Fair point tho

  • Right in the middle of their heroin period.

  • @awesomegirl217 I never thought of Yoko being shy! She appeared spacey, angry, depressed, but not shy!

  • @TheDorr71 you forgot to say that she also sounds like a monkey being butraped .. man, she's he only reason why I would like to kick John's ass .. just saying ..

  • yoko oh no ;)

  • Dane reynolds

  • oasis are fucking washed up hasbeens with nothing to say anymore

  • i do love that box of smiles :)

  • Am I the only one who thinks Frosty looks like a bit of a punk?

  • @blastedflowers er. yeah.

  • lol 6:50

  • Why does everyone laugh when he say's 'having my mis-carriage'. weird.

  • @Stube437 seemed to me he was referring to super market tabloid stories about him, you know like alien babies kind of stuff.

  • yoko sure could have used autotune back then. to present her as an artist is absurd. what was lennon thinking? i mean if its a kin to just expressing yourself as a child would then anyone can do that, anyone can be just as horrible as yoko.

  • No drugs for junkie John!

  • yoko sounds great

  • @tastydavedotcom

yeah she sounds great, like the sound of fingernails scraping a blackboard.

  • Sounded a lot like NIN

  • well uhh, that is some record they created

  • 7:47 wow! he's as right as andy warhol's 15 minutes!

  • Ugh! I wonder if there's someway of electronically REMOVING Yoko Ono from all these videos? I mean, now that he's gone...must we continue to PRETEND that we care what this woman thinks or feels?

  • yoko had some kinda influence of john, i don't like it. :/

  • Smart bitch, she knew a sucker when she saw one.and took him for all he was worth.

Hats off to the most successful groopie in the history of the world.

That hired gun should've misfired though.

  • I am a big fan of John, a very big one... But sometimes fans get misled by some of his most rubbish. This is one example of john's trash among all his great works.

  • All he was saying, is give peace a chance.

  • He simply wouldent care about ur comments thats whats so great!

  • @katerina85 Unlike you.éh...?

I'd get on smack too, if I'd met a certain baglady.

  • @PAULLONDEN open ur heart and let love explode through.

  • @katerina85 Agree wholeheartedly Katerina;sometimes a little cynicism is in place though.

  • Bloody weird.

  • HE is being a complete fool here HOW dare he preach & be about peace & love WHEN HE & HER is justifying what they do LAST NIGHT THE WIFE SAID YOU DON,T TAKE NOTHING WITH YOU but your soul think A SELF IDULUGENT LENNON

  • @LVEMEDO john worked his fingers to the bone to get to where he got. some people are so stupid, they forget that john was just another human being and farrrrrrrrrr from perfect. you all talk about him like hes some kind of perfect guy.. wake up or fuck yourself, dont talk about people you dont know. he worked hard for what he had.. he clearly deserves the money he earned, cause you all proved that by buying the albums and going to the shows.. youd feel the same if you were in his position.

  • @blessiththechily Don,t ever patronize me ok First get your facts right JOHN spoke about no possession's HE was a hypocrite HE owned 4 apartment in the dakota alone Not to mention other things he owned HE HAD A SON BACK IN THE UK His first born son & he was not providing for him GOOD GUY & one of the apartments in the dakota was purely used for a bunch of fur coats That he bought Ono to be refrigerated 24/7 to keep them good nice unselfish people Idon,t think so

  • @LVEMEDO what are you trying to say? i told you before, john was only human and no human being is perfect. you are aware of that right? you focus on johns failings and hate on him yet your username is lovemedo.... a song john wrote. you talk about hypocrites.... lol! just shut your mouth you fucking twat

  • @blessiththechily Actually, according to John himself, in and interview with David Sheff, Paul wrote "Love Me Do." Of course, they're both credited on it as was the case with all Beatles songs.

  • @blessiththechily OK I'll buy that He did not have fame handed on a platter , it was pure talent and all the work to get other musicians to work with him combined that got him to his place in the world. Self made genius..

  • Wow. I am seriously shocked by that sample played. Wow. What the hell was that?!?!?
