If it were written in today's terms, it would read more like: "Thou shalt not have any other 'gods' before me." Meaning there are no other gods, and these non-existent gods should not be worshiped. The problem here (and with the Bible in general) is that it's really up to interpretation. Even advanced Christian scholars interpret the Bible differently from each other.

"Thou shalt not have any other gods before me" does not necessarily mean that God is saying there are other gods. If it were written in today's terms, it would read more like: "Thou shalt not have any other 'gods' before me." Meaning there are no other gods, and these non-existent gods should not be worshiped. The problem here (and with the Bible in general) is that it's really up to interpretation. Even advanced Christian scholars interpret the Bible differently from each other.

And lastly, if you knew anything about the bible at all you would know that God has many names and one of His names is Jesus. Jesus is the son of God and He is God. Jesus is the son of God and was God in human form. And just because I believe in the bible and in God does not mean I am in a religion. I can be spiritual without being in a religion. Too me, being in a religion is like being a Baptist or Catholic etc.....

God is a spirit, an immaterial conscious being. All things in the universe consists of matter and/or energy, so if God isn't matter, is energy by definition. Energy is the capacity to do work, is eternal, omnipresent, wasn't created and can't be destroyed, can create matter, was the only thing present before the BB, and the energy required to make the universe must had been powerful. All these match Biblical descriptions of God. He wants us to elevate our consciousness to the next level, is real

Atheist by definition (according to Dictionary. Com) is a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.
Christians claim that there is no god higher than thier god. Therefore, by defination the christian god is an Atheist.

Any atheist here who believe in Einstiens theory that time dilation involving velocity is real is just believing out of faith. Faith in science that is. So they are contradicting themselves since they say you can't use faith as basis for your belief. Unless that atheist actually understand the mathematical formula involved in time dilation. Time dilation involving extreme velocity approaching the speed of may take a very long time to be proven in an actual experiment.

It was easier during those times to allow others to still believe in their god, and that it was under the Christian god in power, than trying to tell them their god didn't exist at all.
