@AmericanPitbulls1 food with grains many many dogs have died from grain and food allergy's from the euthanized pets and other things in cheap pet food thanks hope it helps but over all try to find a holistic pet store in your area where they only sell good foods and ask what they prefere
Sum ppl will say it's cruel to let pups fight but it's natural behaviour for them to scrap. It's healthy as they need to discover boundaries & limits as kids do too. Once the pups realise who's top dog, they will get on a lot better.
Absolutely, without doubt the best way to encourage food aggression and protective behaviour. Just imagine a small child who knows no better getting too close......child scarred for life.......puppies behaviour patterned for life....way to go!!!
Dog breeds cant be taught to be food agressive at such early age all you jackasses bitching about how the owner "taught"them to fight over food probably never had a litter of any dog breed and are just owners of one or two K9s. Dogs are food agressive by nature since its a natural instinct.
teaching your dog food aggression so young. that's a good start in life! especially a powerful breed like this! i would hate to see what would happen when they are two years old and a baby crawls towards there food.
In answer to your comment (I have had a patch of pups as you say)I have bred dogs including German shepherds, Rottweilers and Great Danes over the years. My puppys have been fed in such a way (many dishes or a chicken coop feeder) that does not promote fighting. I have found that pups that fight pups over food also are food aggressive toward people. Would love to know how your pups are now that they are four years old!
I remember my dogs use to do that all the time. People will you gotdamn RELAX! Animals fight sometimes man, im sure they probably eat out of seperate bowls now. Its in their nature to be protective over food in most cases. You all should watch National geographic shows sometimes and calm the fuck down. Hell humans fight over gas, you don't see anything wrong with that because you are at the gas pump almost everyday. Calm down and let this young man raise his dogs! Nice looking dogs btw bent8muro
What are they eating? looks like veggies and rice? We have puppies about 5 weeks, but have been feeding them puppy food with special milk poured over it to make it soft. Is what ur feeding them better for them? not criticizing, just wondering.
@goonitary Firstly, if you read your comment again you may realise they you are not the sharpest tool in the shed yourself. Secondly, if you look below the video you'll find a little description of what you've just seen. Oh look at that! It actually explains what the video is about.
@bent8munro lol "firstly"... anyway idc if i didn't capitalize the beginning if my sentence or my i's... it's the net not school. This situation should never arise idc if its for play and the video and how do we know this aggression was just for the video? from the looks of it and how old they are they have benn doing it for quite sometime. i do apologize for what i said but hey when you see things like this what the hell do you expect?
@bent8munro I'm surprised that you didn't correct the behavior and just let them carry on. Aggressiveness should not be tolerated under any circumstances. Puppies or not.
It's no wonder they're fighting over food. My guess would be that they're as hungry as hell, if they're only getting rice and vegetables. There's nothing in this vid to be proud of.
OMG! So cute! My GSD isn't a puppy anymore. P.S. Please get them a bigger dish. Don't make them fight over food. You're teaching them food agression. We all make mistakes.
you can't let the one that start's it keep eating or he will think he owns the place you gotta stop him and tell him its bad (BRING OUT THE NEWSPAPER)
What were they eating?? It looks like smashed vanilla cupcakes with white, green, and red icing. lmao! Cute little pups. I always wanted a German Shepherd but always winded up with something else for odd reasons. *lol* I still want one though. I remember a lady that used to live next door to me when I was a kid... her German Shepherd was like white and gray. I have NOT been able to find that same color German Shepherd anywhere! If anyone knows of one that color, contact me please.
i would have told the little bugger off for bloody fighting over food ...ive got two german shepherds (now a year old) and i never allowed them to fight over food ... any kind of aggression is a big no no ...
Read the desciption he has three bowls, but face it THEY ARE PUPS give them 3 bowls and they all dive into one regardless of how many is sharing and how many bowls there are. They are all about competition and play... there puppies not killer dogs turning on each other, just enjoy the vid.. geez. by the wway cute shepards you have/had/still have! lol.
After reading most of the previous comments, I wonder how many people read the "Before you jump to conclusions" part in the video description info.

@mtjor156 ok, well i know both of these male dogs Chief and Diesel now that they are both 4 years old, and both of them are beautiful; very gentle around kids and other dogs at all times, including feed time... so don't stress! they have been told off at any sign of aggression, but more importantly rewarded for good behaviour and very well socialised...

They are nice pups. I know you probably have bred dogs for some time & have not before but will very soon with my GR & I would not encourage any fights between the pups. I am a dog trainer & I know when a fight starts, any type of fights, the dog will learn it & will keep on fighting until it grows older. That means the dog has learned this bad behaviour & it is impossible to change the dog back. So my punishment to them would be, no more food. The bowl will be taken a away.
Yeah, your right they shouldn't be fighting and i know she'll be thinking well their only young, but it is best to learn them when they get to lets just say 9 weeks or so or atleast when their settled in.
The pup has a dominance problem when it comes to food..trying to be leader. the problem should be taken care of ASAP before reoccuring problems exist over time.
ppl need to relax, they are dogs, from the looks of it they are all males, and having them all together means one of them has to be the dominant male dog in the pack...noticed how both dogs backed up and then one went back in for the food.. the one that stayed is the dominant dog.. ugh i can discuss this further but its the way of life.. ppl need to relax the twat
the best way to teach a big dog not to be food territorial is to take their food away and give it back while they're eating when they're still a young pup
Okai, i thought this sounded funny but hell this is pretty serious o.O My pup Jack did this, if anyone went near his food he would go for em' but i started taking his food off him when he growled, made him sit, placed it back down and first off started feeding outa my hand, if he growled again he got pushed back and well, shouted at :D Idc what peeps say bout.. "Oh don't shout at ur dog, it teaches it nothing!" That's Bs! Your voice is what the dog is going to learn to listen to. End of =3
that's way too much food for three puppies. you should cut back and feed them out of separate bowls. even if they are puppies, they can hurt each other if they mad enough. plus, you're teaching them bad habits for the future. if you're selling them, it's not safe or wise to sell them to a home when they are food aggressive or territorial like that.
Yeah good job setting your dogs up for a fight, you know, intentionally letting them feed out of one food bowl, and having the camera ready to video tape. Also, what the hell are you feeding your dogs? It looks like salad or something
Dude my dogs RIP each other apart. When they were this age, they took out each other´s teeth, no joke. It´s annoying that it´s still happening 7 years later.
Your pups are gorgeous! Mine is already 3.5 yrs... When he was a pup, I couldn't wait for him to grow up... now I miss the puppy (and the puppy breath)though he still acts like a puppy at times, ha! ha!
and anyone who thinks this is irresponsible or inhuman, you would have never kept a GSD in your life so shut up coz this is perfectly natural behavior.
BTW awesome puppies, very healthy, and kinda remind me of my dog, Marshall, when he was a pup.
Dam i wish i had a couple of puppies your lucky.Wow i still don't get what is wrong with video dogs do that they need to have alpha and so on.People on here make stupid assumptions and post comments showing there ignorance.
Some people are over reacting. These puppies are quite obviously in good health. It doesn't really make me happy to see them establish their own pecking order but dogs do it and these ones are doing it without hurting each other.
Watch the other vid; he tells the dogs to manner up and they do.I've seen overweight adult dogs will fight over food too. Hunger probably has nothing to do with the dogs' behavior in this video. I'm surprised these prokers are normal. That was a ton of food!
are u fucking crazy u son of bitch wat if u wre them and ur mother fucking owner didn't feed u and made u fight for ur food u stupid ugly ass bitch go get a life u fucking jackass i bet u don't even get out of ur dam house i bet ur a fucking old dude with gray hair on ur ugyl ass small dick go get a life u stupid jackass
are you serious? you are a very poor excuse for a person. if you would like to disagree, or argue even - why not be rational about it, and keep it relevant? Then it may actually be effective. Otherwise you just sound like a complete cock head. I am more than happy to listen to constructive criticism.
I've added some explanatory comments in my intro. Thanks to all for sensible comments.
also, i take our dog out of the house every single day. We go to the park, see other dogs for him to play with, run at night next to my mountain bike etc. I slightly roast lamb offcuts for him 2 or 3 times a week coz they're his favourite. every other day he has raw chicken and lamb.
Im out of the house all the time. Ride over 100km a week on a mountain bike every week. Im 24yrs old, have the same colour on my pubes as i do on my head, and have a good sized dick, not huge but good.
Also, notice how the dog on the far left backed away? He didnt just randomly do that. He noticed the far right dogs mood and withdrew before he got into a fight. Like I said, the majority of information regarding dog behavior can be detected by BODY LANGUAGE.
Not to freak you out or anything, but if this is not fixed you WILL have major dog fights. The dog in the center DID NOT BACK AWAY, again, this is not because he "didn't see it coming". He did. He is dominant as well and chose to fight.
IF they are trained properly there wont be major fights besides maybe one for who is pack leader. Its normally only the bitches that fight to the death male dog will fight till submission
Careful with that aggression, a correction should occur at the very START of growling.
You might want to read a book by Stanley Coren called the Intelligence of Dogs. It is a classic. By reading it, you can learn how to detect when a dog when a dog will show aggressive behavior before it even growls. By reading a dogs body language, actions are amazingly easy to predict...but you need to read up on it! I could tell those dogs were going to fight simply by looking at the dom. dog's eye movement.
what is it you feed them! just got a 6 weeks old puppy...please some me some advice
thanks

They are nice pups. I know you probably have bred dogs for some time & have not before but will very soon with my GR & I would not encourage any fights between the pups. I am a dog trainer & I know when a fight starts, any type of fights, the dog will learn it & will keep on fighting until it grows older. That means the dog has learned this bad behaviour & it is impossible to change the dog back. So my punishment to them would be, no more food. The bowl will be taken a away.
AmberFaithChloe 3 years ago
Yeah, your right they shouldn't be fighting and i know she'll be thinking well their only young, but it is best to learn them when they get to lets just say 9 weeks or so or atleast when their settled in.

The pup has a dominance problem when it comes to food..trying to be leader. the problem should be taken care of ASAP before reoccuring problems exist over time.

nabtitan 3 years ago
ppl need to relax, they are dogs, from the looks of it they are all males, and having them all together means one of them has to be the dominant male dog in the pack...noticed how both dogs backed up and then one went back in for the food.. the one that stayed is the dominant dog.. ugh i can discuss this further but its the way of life.. ppl need to relax the twat

the best way to teach a big dog not to be food territorial is to take their food away and give it back while they're eating when they're still a young pup

Beautiful pups by the way =3
CupcakeKupoWulfie 3 years ago
Okai, i thought this sounded funny but hell this is pretty serious o.O My pup Jack did this, if anyone went near his food he would go for em' but i started taking his food off him when he growled, made him sit, placed it back down and first off started feeding outa my hand, if he growled again he got pushed back and well, shouted at :D Idc what peeps say bout.. "Oh don't shout at ur dog, it teaches it nothing!" That's Bs! Your voice is what the dog is going to learn to listen to. End of =3
CupcakeKupoWulfie 3 years ago
exactly, how can you not shout. should we growl back? =P
hbcazx 2 years ago
that's way too much food for three puppies. you should cut back and feed them out of separate bowls. even if they are puppies, they can hurt each other if they mad enough. plus, you're teaching them bad habits for the future. if you're selling them, it's not safe or wise to sell them to a home when they are food aggressive or territorial like that.
unavailabletoyu 3 years ago 2
Put the little nasty one back in his pen,and let the others eat.
royalfuzziness 3 years ago
Yeah good job setting your dogs up for a fight, you know, intentionally letting them feed out of one food bowl, and having the camera ready to video tape. Also, what the hell are you feeding your dogs? It looks like salad or something
Lega11yBrunette0 3 years ago
buy extra plates the fights are dangerous with 6 or more months.

Dude my dogs RIP each other apart. When they were this age, they took out each other´s teeth, no joke. It´s annoying that it´s still happening 7 years later.

Your pups are gorgeous! Mine is already 3.5 yrs... When he was a pup, I couldn't wait for him to grow up... now I miss the puppy (and the puppy breath)though he still acts like a puppy at times, ha! ha!

German Shepherds are the mmost beautiful dogs ever. The one on the left is smart to walk away before the fight.

we clearly know who's boss between those two!
and anyone who thinks this is irresponsible or inhuman, you would have never kept a GSD in your life so shut up coz this is perfectly natural behavior.
BTW awesome puppies, very healthy, and kinda remind me of my dog, Marshall, when he was a pup.

Dam i wish i had a couple of puppies your lucky.Wow i still don't get what is wrong with video dogs do that they need to have alpha and so on.People on here make stupid assumptions and post comments showing there ignorance.
vondun 3 years ago
Some people are over reacting. These puppies are quite obviously in good health. It doesn't really make me happy to see them establish their own pecking order but dogs do it and these ones are doing it without hurting each other.
Watch the other vid; he tells the dogs to manner up and they do.I've seen overweight adult dogs will fight over food too. Hunger probably has nothing to do with the dogs' behavior in this video. I'm surprised these prokers are normal. That was a ton of food!

are you serious? you are a very poor excuse for a person. if you would like to disagree, or argue even - why not be rational about it, and keep it relevant?

He did. He is dominant as well and chose to fight.
nsmdx2 3 years ago
IF they are trained properly there wont be major fights besides maybe one for who is pack leader. Its normally only the bitches that fight to the death male dog will fight till submission
ruff22 3 years ago
They aren't trained though, they are puppies. That's like expecting a baby to walk within 2 weeks.
flashlight929 3 years ago
Careful with that aggression, a correction should occur at the very START of growling.
You might want to read a book by Stanley Coren called the Intelligence of Dogs. It is a classic. By reading it, you can learn how to detect when a dog when a dog will show aggressive behavior before it even growls. By reading a dogs body language, actions are amazingly easy to predict...but you need to read up on it! I could tell those dogs were going to fight simply by looking at the dom. dog's eye movement.
