Yes meat must continue to be produced. Supply essential nutrients more readily than vegetarian diet. Statistics in presentation indicate enough calories to feed everybody despite reasonable meat production. Plus in some geographical areas only meat production practicable. Under socialism all can be optimised - which not possible where profit motive governs everything.

Actually when you examine Fascist movements such as the British Union of Fascists you can reach the conclusion that they'd have ahceived far more success if the threat of communism was more widely felt as it was in Italy, Spain and Germany. Communism is a disease; a distortion of human nature.
In my country of Belgium there was an overgrowth of corn this year and rather than harvest it, the farmers just decided to burn it all. This is how bad our times have become, rather than donate the food to countries in need they simply cared for their own.
