  • Thanks so much for uploading this! Great montage! Could someone please say what music is played in this video? Thanks!

  • My friends always ask me that, its not common for kids my age to like classic film. Im 14.

  • You really said so much in 4 minutes.....thank you.

  • @bettyh1100 :) thank you

  • They had the talent, great actors, great writers, great producers, great song writers and great studos. They knew what pleased the public. They knew how to put it all together, and at that time they didn't know they were creating something called a "Classic." THEY WORKED SO DAMN HARD. An example: Movie "Swing Time," the song/dance "Never Gonna Dance" sequence took 48 takes. Ginger's feet were bleeding. Her stop-No. They wraped them. She and Fred went on till 4:00 am until they got it right.

  • Yes, no doubt, I love classical movies...George Stevens' ' A Place in the Sun '...

  • Is there a list of all these films? I want to watch all of them. I think we need these films. Always. We should bring this sort of movies back. We should create one, all together, everyone who is into it, to show what we really love in a movie.

It reflects the people. People are aweful nowadays, just in sense of humor and priorities.

I love how we love old films. They'll live on forever in our hearts :)

  • The clip at 0:18.. which movie is that?

  • What a lovely video! The song was perfect. The first time I ever saw Cinema Paradiso, I bawled like a baby at the end. It was so touching.

  • 0:39 I LOVE her hair! =D

  • Couldn't agree with you more, GEVMM. Sigh. So long ago and seemingly so far away. Yet when I watch these stars come alive each time on youtube I fall in love with the classic movies and my stars all over again. poeticjustice2345, the muisc you chose to go with the clips is so piognant that it emphasises the loving touch you must have for this old Hollywood. I am so glad I am not alone in my opinions. Must say, some people just don't get it. Your reply is truly eloquent!

  • Thank you! And I must say that the amount of classic lovers here on YT is a pleasent surprise - in real life I hardly find people with the same passion.

  • I think Hollywood in the 1930's, 40's and 50's was so much more interesting and fascinating than it is today. People like Kate Hepburn, Bette Davis, Cary Grant...they were actors. Now, it's all about getting skinnier all the time and doing nude scenes in every film. While all my friends like to watch He's just not that into to you, I much prefer The Philadelphia Story. Hollywood is just...dead now. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

  • Of course you're not the only one! And your comment is just spot-on.

  • @GEVMM you are not.

  • @GEVMM you took the words right out of my mouth, we really think alike! I love 'The Philadelphia Story' and other classic movies so much more than today's cinema. I just adore the romance and passion. Can't get enough of stars like Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Bette Davis ect! I wish nowadays movie stars took more inspiration from these stars and films! Many of them just have no class anymore...it's sad.

  • Beautiful video to a beautiful time in Hollywood's cinematic history!

  • This video brings together in just a few minutes all the best of the old cinema! The choice of music is perfect! The final is unforgettable. Moving!!

  • Thank you! It was really hard to choose which scenes to put in the video cause there are so many cherished classics and not all of them made the cut...

  • there is something truly captivating about this video- every scene you picked was a perfect choice, and with that music! It's like a dream. I cannot praise it enough.

  • what's the song?

i've heard it many times before but can't remember it now..

  • it's from Cinema Paradiso, I'm guessing it is the Main Theme, seeing as the Love Theme is different.

  • I love this & it's very clear how much you love classics! They're such a big part of my life as well <3 Every time I have to explain to somebody why, I get lost for words -- they're just not able to capture the magic of classic movies.. you've gotta SEE them (: thanks for the video!

  • Truly a beautiful tribute with a soothing memorable tune.

Classics have more life and reality in it although much of it is in allegory.

Louise Brooks-The great art of films does not consist in descriptive movement of face and body, but in the movements of thought and soul transmitted in a kind of intense isolation.
