JAL was pretty good too, but the attendants are getting older these years and service sliding. ANA is good. My point is almost all Chinese (mainland china) airline are really not that good.

QANTAS (Australian Airlines)is the best, no doubt. Even though the price is slightly higher than other airlines, the service is excellence, the plane is comfortable, the food is great and everything is clean and not so 'unspacious.' They also are

catering for 'disabilities' and provide basically anything you might need

However, I have not flown Air Japan before... I think they sound ok.

Air China is more of a 'budget airline' because it is cheap, but the comfort is not AS good.

Comparing to Cathay Pacific and JAL though, JAP is 10% better than Cathay Pacific, why 10%? JAL is an excellent airline. A nice thing about the majority of domestic Chinese airlines is the fact that even in Economy / Coach there is more leg room than the majority of domestic American airlines.

Basic service differs on different airlines worldwide. Some good, others not. Thai, JAL All Nippon, Singapore Asiana, all pretty good.
