  • Nothing sounds as good as this engine. Some may be better but these engines has the Best Sound of Any Engine ever made.

  • @EdwJenkins Ever heard a Detroit Diesel ? lol :D

  • chuck norris could start that with a rope, lol nice sounding engine!!

  • wanted to see the otherside of the exhaust too :-)

  • I was watching this film, and suddenly Google comercial popped up. It's said: Latest RC equipment. Then I lol'd

  • if you know anything about engines, you'd know torque is what matters on these engines, not horsepower.

  • @barthoedemaker what is torque going to help you with. hp=rpm=faster prop speed= faster plane

  • @MrCrazyshit321 ever heard of a transfer box?

  • You could do all your cooking on it as well, 1 in the living room and 1 in the kitchen, SORTED !

  • Who wouldn't want that next to your bed to wake you up each morning??

  • brutal cunt no ear plugs...

  • 7 people are clinicly dead!

  • racing fuel or alchohol?

  • Mixtures look fine to me!!

  • I wouldn't like to rev it full blast next to a petrol/gasoline pump.

  • if you put a gearbox you can drive it.......HAHAHA!

  • Dear Santa.......

  • How many horsepower?

  • @Andrei3646 he lost count lol

  • @Andrei3646

Rover Meteor, a ground version of the RR Merlin that was used in tanks. It has heavier internal parts and lacks the supercharger. It makes about 600 hp.

  • @FiveCentsPlease Thanks (:

  • Now that engine has a nice sound!

  • dude you got some nice toys!

  • No Eye or Hearing protection....... this guy must be Deaf at this stage..!

  • @itsmefergal and luvn it

  • @itsmefergal what sorry i did hear that n i cant read lol

  • Most diesel locomotives have over 10k HP, why won't anyone pray on them? :) The same UAC, maybe even better. But a crude 250-horsepower engine for a sedan is WOW! I love it! What's the catch, really?

  • @oguretsagressive 10,000 hp for a diesel locomotive is a bit much. The most powerful one that I know of was the EMD DDA40X which made 6600 horsepower using two engines (and 60's technology), and none are left in freight service

  • put it in a car/boat/plane, use it! verry nice.

  • very cool.never seen before

  • Is this egine used on trucks?

  • @Busdude97 no its used in airplanes and some cars

  • @lasergeak Oh. It sounds like a detroit diesel and looks big enough to be a truck engine. And to have the power of a detroit.

  • @Busdude97 I'm sure it could pull a truck its just a little overkill and thirsty

  • Music mate!

  • Nice engine, Hp and torque??

  • @TechnicalFreak

Basically a de-rated version of the RR Merlin aircraft engine without supercharging, with some different (heavier) parts and used in tanks. HP was around 650 HP with 1200 lb of torque.

  • You Know we love it, but is this an aircraft engine ,Im dumb I love it!!!

  • This chap must be deaf by now!

  • a little to rich, eh? (mixture)

  • @Flyboy207

I dont think theyre to rich. The exaust pipes are just so short, and there is such a great amount of air/fuel mixture that some parts of it get burned in the exhaust. Does not mean its to rich. And even if it where, It prob gets the most horsepower that way. They had a war to win after all.

  • @Sjupke1 And win it did.

  • nice,nice

  • wow this is music!

  • "Today's chance of lung cancer is......very high"

  • The Meteor was a Merlin without the supercharger, used for ww 2 Cromwell tank. Evidently, it was very fast. Rover built the engine because Rolls Royce wanted the jet engine Rover was building (the original Whittle engine) and in exchange RR gave the Meteor engine building to Rover. A very good deal - both for the aviation industry and for the UK, as RR is about the last, big, world class, high tech manufacturer left in the UK today.

  • I need one of those in my garage!

  • That must've cost you a pretty penny. Great engine though!

  • monster ^^

  • love the lack of ear muffs .........Jim

  • great!

  • is it a merlin or a griffon engine

  • Read the box on the right of your screen. It's a Meteor !!!!!

  • cause thats good for the valvetrain.....bent valves what?

  • Would not want to be in room with such thing.

  • sissy

  • running an v12 with any headers on....that´s just plain enginesuicide

  • excuse me, but have you ever seen headers on a spitfire? no they run without!

  • @listepikster Not entirely correct. Some clever engineers made exhaust ejectors to the merlin engine.Gaining 70 pounds-force thrust or roughly 70 hp. This gave the spitfire 10MPH more top speed...

  • @lgf1978 My Great Grandfather was one of those engineers, at Ricardo's down on the south coast near Shoreham

  • @lgf1978 70hp will not give you 10mph when you are traveling over 400 mph.... Also, hp is a measure of a torque per unit time. Even assuming you mean 70 ft*lbf/s that would be roughly .12hp which at over 400mph will not even make 1mph difference.

  • @billyjack70 Have you read about the Merlin engine?

    You probably should do so....

The exhaust manifolds Are Directed in a rearwards direction.

And the speed of the exhaust exiting the manifolds gives an extra "push"...

Just read the story about the engine.

Or try standing "in the way" of the exhaust of a large engine...

  • @lgf1978 Have you ever read about physics? You probably should.

  • @billyjack70 Yes, physics. Interesting topic. It is a known fact that evacuating exhaust gases actually has a high velocity. And makes thrust. Channeling those gases can even increase the flow speed. What do you think are driving turbo chargers?

And you do realize that it is the gases in a jet engine that actually makes the thrust?

    But please, stop trolling.

  • @lgf1978 Don't be so quick to call someone a troll.....

  • @billyjack70 Sorry about that. When people are quick to blow me off i stop the argument before it gets out of hand. Merlin is actually my favorite engine. I read any material i can about it. several times. And in the museum of aviation in Bodø they have a (couple of) merlin. At display and a spitfire. One of the guys working there is a "guru" on merlin engines (to me, at least)...

  • @lgf1978 Ok, so I went and did the calculation and if in fact the exhaust can generate 51KW of power then the claim is reasonable.

  • @billyjack70 :) Even though it is negligible it is still there.

  • Why?

  • you're killing your valves this way

  • Again. Why?

  • I think its for a car project!!!

  • @YZFMANIAC08 how are you killing your valves?????? if you have pipes that long on any motor you will get flames like that.

  • @YZFMANIAC08 the dont need them they use exhaust ejectors

  • Haha, your english makes me laugh and you clearly haven't seen the 55 chevy with a v12 in it... right here on Tubeface! Civic!.. laughs again.

  • this enigine is from a aircraft and never ran with a header, the stubs just stick out of the side of the cowling, dont argue the toss about shit u dont know bout, and anyways this is noithing like a 55 chevy apart from the fact it has 12 cylinders

  • Never saw a12 cylinder 55,chevy other than that you are right on all counts,

    waffe

  • its from a spitfire aircraft

  • wWen did the spit use the engine from a Cromwell or Centurion?

No disrespect to the guys who did this in any way.

    WAFFE.

  • its out of a tank.

the spitfires mostly had supercharged engines apart from early ones I believe although the stubs look to be aircraft ones.

The other video says its out of a tank, the merlin was in the spitfire the meteor in tanks like centurian I believe.

oh and no 55 chevy had 12 cylinders.

  • spot on mate, cant remember what tanks were called but only the very early spitfires had N/A engines

  • meteor is less quality engine parts than the merlin, which has to be airworthy. The merlin is with added supercharger ( two speed ) later version involved the Griffon series, which added 10 liter in engine capacity.

  • If you could afford such ear sex, you wouldn't put it in a shitty civic!.. you'd put it in a 55 Chevy! ;)

  • yes right... :D

it wouldn't even start. it would broke in a half

  • It's already been done.

  • Hahahahahha LOL Ear Sex dats funny

  • @randombadger69 id put it in a kit car. like a super car replica!

  • I'm putting one of these in a civic.

  • what for? to make a pancake from the civic? this engine weight much more than a small civic. search for something ten times smaller.

  • boo

    280z with side pipes =p

  • What the hell is that out of? Nice!!!!!!

  • the other video says its a 27 litre Rover Meteor MK4B tank engine, so i can only guess what it came out of

  • is that just a naturally asperated version of a Merlin RR V-12? looks just like it but with out the super charger set up on the rear of the engine.

    Cool video nice flames.

  • The meteor should technically "just" be a merlin without supercharger. Theres a few minor details too though, but none I can mention.

  • if i had one of these id put it in my living room and sell my tv cause i wouldnt need it anymore

  • @c0c0asauce plus if u had it running u wouldnt hear a dam thing. gd 4 drowning out the misses lol

  • is that a rolls royce merlin or a metior engine cause the intake looks the same

  • Basically the same engine, but the Merlin is supercharged the Meteor isn't. Merlins in planes, Meteors in tanks.

  • LOL thats funny i just posed the same question .. i should have read your reply before i posted it. They are naturally asperated.. cuz i looked at that and i said thats a merlin with out the super charger... and now that im typing this ... i remember Meteor.. is a tank cuz i watched a documentory on it ... So dont mind me im just having a brain fart.

  • Where can I get one of these?!

  • That is beautiful.
