The Chinese relish the carp. They've been raising carp for thousands of years now. It should be interesting to find out how they prepare it for consumption.
That was introduced to the philippines and is competing with our native and endemic fresh water species. The introduction of organisms from different places in the world has a negative effect on our biodiversity. There have been endemic species that were driven to extintion because of this matter. Bighead carp along with its relatives dont taste very good, same with tilapias, there are 4 different species of tilapias that are originally from africa and are now swimming in our rivers and lakes.
I agree with you that big head carps dont taste good. But what kind of fish were driven to extinction because of their introduction in our lakes? Laguna lake to be precise.
You can make gefilte fish out of that!!

Look here kill all the silver carp befor they get to the Great Lakes water ways,
