Dear Captain Expert, couldn't you find an original Sega CD to review? I know "angry" is your schtick, but calling this system "garbage" sounds like the words of a poor soul who opted for a 3DO. Sonic Cd was awesome, Final Fight CD was better than arcade perfect. Samurai Showdown featured multi-plane fighting (as in the arcade but not cartridge versions) near arcade graphics. Eternal Champions CD had tons of extras. and RPG's? LUNAR 1 & 2, VAY, Popful Mail, Dark Wizard. Plus cult classic Flink.

Sega CD was actually a pretty good system. All the FMV games sucked, but there were plenty of regular games which were awesome. Games like Final Fight CD or Lunar were like Sega Genesis games with CD quality sound. In my opinion, it improved the Genesis.

The best thing about the Sega CD (and CD-based consoles pre-1995) is that it has no burn protection. Granted, this quality wouldn't have been useful back then because CD burning technology was extremely expensive. But it does work out well for collectors or people who want to get the full experience out of the S-CD.

The biggest problem with the Sega CD is that the shit vastly outnumbered the good games in the U.S. market.

The good games weren't mass produced like the shitty FMV games, thus making it harder for owners to find a game that isn't worth the shitter. I couldn't find a copy of Popful Mail for the Sega Cd from the time it was released, up until 1997.

Even stuff like Sherlock Holmes was cool because it was still new and novel. That kind of thing didn't age well at all, but it was still fun at the time.
