@ezcondition The banks can't justify this behavior when the just got bailed out. There is no rule of law. The sooner they all collapse the better it will be for America.
What the companies are doing as far as buying up tax deeds because anyone can go and by an house that is in tax deed repayment but were the banks are going crazy is charging people more interest on top of the taz amount they already have to repay. That is the crazy and devil part to all of this. I hate how banks find a away to take a normal thing in turn it into something so crazy and so evil.
Here are some solutions to these issues, I thought I'd offer them instead of bitching about them. Research the following: ALLODIAL TITLE TO PROPERTY, JURY NULLIFICATION to eliminate bad laws. The jury is the 4th branch of government and is all powerful! As a juror you decide not only the facts but the LAW itself. A vote of not guilty will overturn bad laws. You need not listen to the judge he is not your boss, you are his boss,he listens to you!
@justaman6972 The state of Texas is the only one that still has allodial title. I agree about taxes. If the state can take it away then you never really own it. They even own our person, because a human being is not a person, but is the legal fiction they created to secure the nations debt. We're on the farm sweating and bleeding to pay of the masters IOU's. What a sin before God.
Of all the strange and vulgar scams one finds in a Keynesian system that's this far down the drain, this is surely the weirdest and ugliest I've seen so far.
I agree that the financial industries are behaving inappropriately. However, they are capable of this because of the way tax liens are set up. Anyone can go in and purchase rights to your home if you don't pay your taxes. These companies are taking advantage of the fact that the government has to be stern about receiving tax payments (if the government weren't, people would take advantage of that instead.) Basically, it comes down to this: People suck.
This Is Insane, This is something that needs to addressed. Who has the power to fix this? once your an adult no one cares!, No one care if you get thrown out of your house!, No one cares if you cant pay you taxes!, Just no one cares about anyone but themselves!
The current friends of these vultures in the political sphere would do well to distance themselves from them. A revolt of some sort is inevitable, and it is far better that they relieve the pressures from above then force the common people to do so from below.
Why no mention of the governments who sold them knowing full well what would happen? And don't tell me they didn't know, the banks got legal clearance.
I think this is the peoples fault too.....YOU CONTINUE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE BANKS!!! I bet all you guys at least have a Bank of America or Chase account.
If you stop banking with these idiots then THEY STOP OPERATING!
Just one more example of how the federal reserve and it's member banks are stealing everything we own.
Think about it, Why didn't our so-called representatives vote for a bail-out loan to the people directly? Then these people would have paid off their housing loans, thereby making the people and the banks solvent.
One reason and one reason only. If they had done that the banks, who fund our politicians, couldn't have stolen peoples property.
"When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes... Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain." - Napoleon Bonaparte, 1815
That woman is damned lucky she was able to sell that house.
Funny how the Huffington Post made this video, because this is part of the Left's strategy of overtaxation to put everyone but the wealthy into the poorhouse. So many small businesses have closed because of overtaxation. Obama has made it impossible to make a living with all the taxes, fees, and paperwork.
@ramz50b The media would rather tell you about Britney's latest breakdown or from what unheard of country Brad & Angelina just about child #46 from. The banks will never answer as long as they can hide behind front companies just like the mafia.
@Sarge714 The process is when a home owner does not pay real estate taxes for 3 to 5 years they can request a tax lien sale where someone, you or a bank can purchase the tax lien ( pay the tax off) and set up a payment plan for the home owner to pay you back. In effect they are getting a reprieve for another 6 months to four years to pay off taxes owed. If they don't pay under the contract the can they can be foreclosed on immediately by you or a bank or who ever bought their tax lien.
What? The taxes are what caused the problem you doofus. How is it a banks fault that the government created a tax so burdensome that people are unable to pay it? If the government didn't create the tax in the first place, they wouldn't have to get banks to purchase the liens to begin with. Or do you think banks should buy up tax liens and then forgive the amount? How stupid can people be.
This video smells like a rat to me. Problem, reaction, solution...OOHH, those big, bad banks are going to steal everything from you...so you better let the government take over the handling of your pensions, 401k's ,IRA...heck, better yet, a direct deposit of your earnings. @flaunttnualf Yeah, this is disgusting. It's also highly alarming how the state governments are "outsourcing" everything to PRIVATE companies..even tickets and fines!

@TheBlitz1 - Fuck you buddy. The banks and congress have done plenty of stupid shit with their money AND ours! Greedy businesses and banksters are only around to take advantage because no one makes them pay for their mistakes. I sincerely hope that your friends, family, and creditors aren't this "objective" about things when whoever writes your paycheck discovers just how expendable you are.
@abe2517 Don't do stupid shit with your money, don't take out loans, and pay your taxes; greedy business will take advantage of greedy people who want to have things they can't afford. Then you won't have any problems. buddy bud.
Excessive or unreasonable fees, added to the cost of the tax bill itself, are the problem. That's why prosecutors are starting to investigate the practice. People have notice of the existence of tax when they buy property, but a 20% fee slapped on top of the tax bill by a for-profit firm, not so much.
Just as when the military formerly had soldiers do their own laundry (cost: $0) and then let Halliburton start doing it for $100/bag in Iraq, outsourcing to private business often adds costs.
The outrage from wall street just keeps coming. When will people realize that their anger at government is SEVERELY misplaced. Follow the money. Great reporting!
@DCSven " When will people realize that their anger at government is SEVERELY misplaced." When it is to late. Poor trash desperately wants to identify with the powerful.
I'm not sure what HuffPo is arguing here. Conservatives would generally argue against the property tax in the first place, which is what caused this whole mess to begin with.

@Hollyhooch1 What is this a 'Jersey Thing?' I just don't get it. You didn't answer the question. Explain to me what I'm missing.
If there wasn't a property tax, then we don't have this problem. A consumption tax should be used instead. However, if property taxes are used, there needed to be an enforcement mechanism. But, the local governments don't have enough resources to enforce the property tax. So they outsource to Banks. The problem is the tax, not the banks.
First make money issuing hundreds of thousands of BS, fraudulent, predatory mortgages. After the economy tanks because of what you've done and people wind up in debt and falling behind on bills because of what you did... turn around and buy up their debt and knee cap them with fees like a loan shark. If these people were in the mob they'd be in jail for loan sharking and racketeering. Why is only the DC DA on this? The department of Justice should be all over this.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I took out what I thought was a loan for training from a for-profit school. The school went bankrupt. I never got the training I paid for. The bank says I own the money. The bank's parent company wrote my loan off their books as part of their BK, but is still trying to collect on the debt. Everyone should stop paying their mortgage and CC Bills and join a credit union. Kill this system
A disgusting reminder for all of us as to why our financial and political systems are in collapse and why we should all be very happy and relieved by that reality. You can help speed up the process by REFUSING to pay ANYTHING to these banks.. mortgage, credit cards, fees.. hell, don't bank w/ them even.. if you do, pull your money out. We have the power collectively, and they bank on the fact that we won't come together. Yet another bad bet by these TBTF monstrosities.
Let's see if I have this right .... The big banks crash the economy through their greed, putting millions of people out of work, and lowering the incomes of tens of millions more. This causes home owners to fall behind and municipal revenues to decline. The big banks then borrow money for free from the Federal govt. and buy tax debt which ultimately lets them take homes away from the people whose lives were previously ruined by these same banks. We'd be better off without these "banks."
Thanks for this huffpost, some real journalism. These banks are sucking the soul out of this country, and now since these corporations are "people", they're shoveling money into GOP coffers before Nov. elections. Still people think the GOP is out for the little guy. It makes me sick ever time I see a JP Morgan add on TV touting their small business lending, its all smoke and mirrors. And still bakers are still getting $70,000 bonuses for wrangling excel sheets, an f-ing travesty.
