  • Hi,

I'm on the fence for either getting a Walkeria Genius CP or a MCPx. The only advantage of me going the MCPx route is that I have a DX6i already. I'm flying the MSRx now and love it. Which in your opinion would be the better bird to buy? Genius CP or the MCPx? I want a CP that I can transition to from my MSRx. thanks. Is one better than the other?

  • @mammothtarm It depends on what you are looking for. The mcpX has way more durable servos and a better build compared to the genius/mini cp. Parts are also available at almost all LHS.

The genius is a bit faster and has a little better gyro setup and flys more like a larger scale heli. But really since the mini CP came out I would not recommend the genius anymore. The mini cp is basicly an upgraded genius. The mcpx i would go with if you want durability. The mini if you like to tinker and mod

  • @indoorheli you answered my question. I'm all about durability and HH support is great. Also finding parts is easy at the LHS. I've just wish they would put burshless motors on the MSRx and MCPx as standard equipment.

  • Awesome skill in a small area , nice.

  • I like your setup a lot. Can you please tell us or link us to a post that tells us what hardware mods were done to the heli (which brushless motor/which tail mod?/tail rotor change?/which batts?). Was soldering required? Thanks!

  • Excellent vid. I was beginning to think my MCPX would never be flyable. Cheers

  • in the 2nd part of the vid when you were doing flips, that was not on the mellow settings, was it?

  • @DreadfulOmen No it wasnt withteh mellow settings. It was back to a full linear curve for idle up. I was just playing around with a toasted battery:)

  • Thanks for the upload! Appreciate it very much!

  • @indoorheli; thank you for the video! I use a DX6i and am confused by the DR@Expo settings that you have illustrated here. How do I set them up on my TX please? Confused by whether to apply them to Position 1 (switches on) or straight to DR/Expo with relevant switches off) So new to this that I cannot really explain my techie problem accurately! Many thanks for any help given :-)

  • I vote this the most detailed setup vidro for cp newbies. Great explanation of expo sets which compare to dual rates on most FP helis.

  • Oh, where did you get the cool canopy from too?

  • @AlMedic2000 I make the canopies myself:)

  • Fantastic video! Ive just come from a 120SR and this MCPX im flying on the Normal settings taken from the Spektrum Community and its hard to do! Hopefully these settings will slow it down a bit for me till my thumbs warm to it.

    Cheers!!!

  • @AlMedic2000 Hope it helps you out to tame it down a bit. Just remember if you dont slam the sticks too much you can lower that expo a bit from what is in the video right off the bat so you have more control at center stick

  • @indoorheli

thanks a lot...will try this step by step and move onward to your level. Keep on doing these productive very use-full 'manuals'.

    Best regards from Germany ;-)

  • thats perfect done - think iam one of millions looking for that stuff M CPX useful for beginners. thanks a lot!!!

  • @Joenix22 No problem hope it helps - remember if you feel you are not getting enough stick movement near center stick lower that expo by 10ish or so to give a faster feel when you give stick input.

Also if you feel you your heli can go too fast in a direction you can tame down or the rates for ail/elev another 5-10% as well. At the same time if you feel it goes too slow you can up both rates by the same 5-10%

  • Did you do all those 3d moves with the beginner settings or did you switch it to stunt mode?

  • @StoneDef7 I switched back to full rates and 15 expo in idle up mode. With the settings in the vid it is impossible to flip. I was playing around with a bad battery showing it can flip with almost no juice and a low head speed.

  • Newbies got it so easy these days lol

  • @bayareaheli

yep they sure do these durable micro CP's are amazing
