What material do you use as basing for your buildings? I am looking for something inexpensive which will not warp when painted and textured. 6:22 to 6:48 that would make a great desert building settlement, like Afghanistan. Have you woman give you a back massage.
I use a rigid fibre board - Hardboard. Costs about $10 per 4'X8' sheet (1/8" size) It comes in 1/4" too for larger projects. Same stuff you find on drawer bottoms, back of old TVs & radios, some packing and gift type boxes.
Your local building supply stores should carry it.
Found a big chunk of 2" blue foam on my way home from work on the side of the road. Steve's right kids; keep your eyes open and recycle/reuse. TheKamloopian Rules!!!
PS- Nunavut was like -40F the day you said you might move there! Freakin' don't forget your electric blankets!!!
It stays flexible for quite awhile. Maybe a year or so, then it gets well, not as flexible, lol. Still not what I'd call brittle though, (wouldn't shatter).
Ive never tried that pink foam, Ive used the foam that florist's use. It comes in bricks, really cheap and carves real easy...you need to paint it right away though as it tends too dissintegrate when handled. Cool vid's thanks.
what paint is that you are using for the staining? what are they called?
