  • im thinking of buying a desktop and doing this but would i need a pc monutor first to set it up or can i plug it in to my tv straight away, fresh outta the box

  • I use a VGA CABLE, and for sound you need a 3.5mm Stereo Plug to Stereo Plug 5 Mtrs Gold. i would prefere the vga cable than the hdmi lead, vga is a clearer screen, well on my tv anyway.

  • most of it was pretty obvious -.-

  • I have the same computer!! this should be easy but i dont think my computer came with the cable :(

  • The*

  • Te cord is called a VGA

  • 79 People dont have a flatscreen tv

  • @Hamradioismyhobby

i have a flat screen with vga port and still it doesnt work for me

im using a 5 meter long wire , could that be the problem? iv tryed it with my laptop and desktop

my laptop is a sony viao

  • hw can i make my unit work if my tv does not have the insert for the monitor, wt else can i buy or wt can i use from the stuff bought?

  • So you plug the blue thingy into the hole and screw it. Wow, very descriptive.

  • No shit, really??

  • Fail

  • Remember When Before you plug in the blue cables Turn off your computer... and switch to pc on your tv - and after you've done that turn on your pc

like so people can see this

  • Corrections:

    Hole===========> VGA Input

Cable with blue ends and screws================> VGA cable

    What happened to the sound?

  • Did this and it tells me invalid format now what?

  • computer 101

  • Liked because I have the same computer as you =D

  • hooray you turned your tv into a monitor

  • stupid vid !

hy nothing pers but (u need a mouse and a computer and a keyboar .......)

    we already know that ,

  • How to create an unhelpful youtube video: You need: 1) Cheap camera with very very low resolution. 2) Annoying mp3 for background music 3) Shaky hands 4) Incorrect information 5) No brain.

  • it say not supported

  • @Djkiiller1 change your resolution.

  • thumbs up if this is the 5th unhelpful video youve found on this topic

  • @sciberras89 well if you got fucking cables then use thos to connect from your pc earphones thus get a adapter and idk dude ill make a video soon hear then pug emm in to your speakers///tv then you can use this for the video?

  • i appreciate the video, even if you guys don't, simple and not a lot of unneccesary crap, if you don't like the music, there is a thing called mute.

  • why r u all so abusive to each other? very sad. U all show off & end up sounding like stupid smart-asses. Appreciate or GO AWAY.

  • sorry this is VERY STUPID but i LOVE my mom alot if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours

  • @fightforthenight1 well we will see about that!

  • nimre......why the stupid comment. If you don't like the music turn it off. Drrrrrrrr.

  • Why the stupid music ?

  • what kind of fucking music is this?!

  • Thumbs up if you skiped it to the end :D

  • who the fuck uses vga anymore!

  • this vid looks like its been made in 2000

  • your pc sucks is onboard get a 9500gt

  • @SuperHackboy hopefully you know this video was made 3 years ago he might have a new computer by now

  • @punkhunter2 yea you are right :) sory

  • I am not experience in computer too.but may i know the name of the wire/cable that have the blue thingys on both sides of the wire and has screws on it. It is found on 0:34

  • i did that but my tv says no signal

  • Haha, who ever made this video doesnt know jack SHIT about the names of anything to do with computers.

  • can you plug your speakers straight into the desktop so you will get sound if you use VGA input?

  • dude people probably want to know how to do this on retro crt tvs not new ones that have a plug 4 that

  • its nothing but a big computer screen

  • congrats, u just found out what the blue port in ur tv is for

  • Guys if you want to hear just connect speakers in the computer.Wow that is so simple.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so many mistakes///

  • i dont hear anything... i connect it and i play a movie and i dont hear the sound why!!???

  • @gogetatr that i think u need speakers for that

  • @uchihasauke5 yeah thanks :D

  • @gogetatr because VGA doesn't transmit sound, only display, see if your player or pc has an HDMI out, or if not, go get a 3.5mm double ended cable for about like 4 bucks from radio shack.

  • I'm using a vga connection on a sony bravia, I can't get my games to show up on the tv, is there something special that i have to do? I'm trying to play the orange box in particular, it keeps popping up with an invalid format screen, i get the audio for the valve logo, and then nothing

  • alot of bull shit alot of talking and showing off no one could simplfy it without talking about stupid thing or putting music like this

  • THIS IS SO OLD!! no offense but I use HDMI cables to my TV its all about the new days and Ur keyboard and mouse still uses the old style plug in

  • yeah this isn't as easy as it looks well at least in my case....I have 2 32" flat screen tv's and hooked up the vga connectors to them and they don't work. I was told by tech support from HP that I needed to change the settings on the computer to make the screen larger but it didn't work. I did recieve a cd for monitors with my computer so I may try to see if it will help me set it up

  • @ryanb788 I bet its because the TV is old or ur using VGA in most cases you shouldn't have to change settings other then changing the input to the computer input. I have LOTS of experience in this region of setup. NOW since this is a recent post I take it you dont have a old tv, so if you have a open HDMI spot use that to your computer if the computer has it or digital.

  • VGA = no sound :: DVI = no sound :: HDMI = DVI w/ sound

  • @mightywarriorx step 1, go to radio shack step 2. buy a double ended 3.5mm plug cord, one with a plug on both ends, and plug one end into the output hole, and one into the input on the tv, OH MY GOD THAT WAS EASY!

not all tv's have HDMI connections, FYI, most do, but some don't

  • @VSRNOnDemand Thanks for telling me shit I know.

  • @mightywarriorx 3.5 to 3.5 mm jack into pc input on TV

  • Comment removed

  • @LucasWhitehouse set res to 1024 x 768

  • @lucatechxx Thank you!

  • i love my computer tv.. p.s. i used a separate AUX cable so the sound of the computer played on my television speakers

  • HOW DO I CHANGE THE DISPLAY SETTING SO I CAN VIEW THE COMPUTER

  • ONE QUESTION

Does it have sound? or do you need aother cables for that?

  • @assassinmakidoo

Just get a Y audio cable (3.5mm to red/white audio), connect the red and white wires to your TV and the 3.5mm to the pc(audio jack).

  • my tv have rgb... is it also can?

  • @ChinaRox100

well ya no that hole he is talking about is a VGA port so he looks like a moron.lolz

  • @ChinaRox100

Because even a caveman can do it! (common sense)

There is no need for this video. (at least that's what I would think)

  • @Xtrigit , if you don't need th ehelp, why are you here?? we are what? 68.000 including me, there are a lot of caveman up there !!!! Ji ji ji

  • basura

  • awesome walkthrough

  • This works, but is far from the best way of doing it. Resolution is very poor and audio is not transferred to the TV. i recommend a VGA to HDMI converter box, with 3.5mm audio. converts VGA from PC to HDMI into the TV. double the rez with audio foo

  • cool \

  • do u need a graphic card to display or just a onboard graphic card?

  • wt if tv doesn't have "D"type 15 pin connectivity?

  • u have to be a dumbass to not know how to do this

  • i simply bought a computer cable like that for 1$ on ebay with 2.50 shipping and it went vga> analog

  • I do this!

  • Yo this is so beast!!! I had just finished re-arranging the furniture in my room and I was surfing the interenet and saw ur vid!!! Now my room is BEAST!!!! I built some shelfs and have models of some of my DBZ toys up! Im jst so happy!!! Lol ur appart of my happines MAN!!!!!

  • Thank you so much you own! Subbed!

  • Comment removed

  • if i use a VGA to VGA to connect my computer to my 32inch HDTV and use it as a moniter will i be able to read my email and such?

  • @bobbyscotanddrybut

yes, of course nut a 32inch moniters a bit big.

  • This was just discovered/learned in 2008? Sad..... And also what Zenniz1992 said, The output on the pc and the input on the lcd are not "holes" They are called VGA ports. And its not just a "wire with blue on the ends" Its a VGA cable. Last thing, to Jerzyboy94, You CAN connect your Pc's sound card (or onboard sound) to a LCD IF your LCD supports it, (the PC Analog Audio Input)

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @AAATrigger Got some big hands for a 6th grader....

  • @erikblazer13 Hey DICK are you really serious? is that something to talk about. Besides the uploader said that he/she MADE the video/ DIDN'T say that it was his/her hands in it.

Maybe those BIG HANDS should go up your ass

  • @iutube247 Didnt know you where into kinky fisting? but hey everyone has there own turn ons

  • hey. how aboit audio????? :\

  • @XGAMERall take a 3.5 mm headphone jack cable (male to male), connect it to the port on the back of the tv next to the vga port, and to the green headphone jack on the back of the computer

  • Nooo Waaay!!!

  • Wow... that was extremely advanced!

  • duh NO

  • not very informative...

  • samll screen dude.... i ahve 50 inch!!! xD to be honest, your screen is the about the same size as my monitor.....

  • I think it would be easier to pay a electronics place to hook up your computer to your tv these guys make it sound so simple then most guys try it and they get either a fuzzy screen or they get crummy sound or there tv doesnt have the right connections and you end up having to buy a new LG or a Sony Bravia or a new Samsung to get the right connections or you need a xbox or a netgear or a Blue ray player or a hometheater to do everything right it will end up costing money any way.

  • you are a genius.

  • i have that exact computer

  • PLEASE HELP!

I plugged everything in and my tv is saying "No mode supported". nothing happened even though i plugged everything in, what's wrong?

  • Still not all Tvs have the vga input.

  • Works kool !!

  • This all sounds a bit high-tech to me. "You should get a wire with blue connectors"

    Very informative.

I asked my local computer dhop for a wire with blue connectors and they didn't seem to know what I was talking about.

Are you sure that the correct name for the wire is, "A wire with blue connectors".

  • @moonshinejugg

  • you will need a tv card in your pc which has a coaxial port in there then watch tv though your pc on your moniter

  • @footieharry84

    thanks for the info bro

  • @moonshinejugg "A wire with blue connectors" is called an RGB cable. Meaning red, green, and blue. It's what most computers use to connect to LCD monitors. :D

  • @moonshinejugg its called a VGA (or monitor) cable

  • @moonshinejugg

    -beep, beep- SARCASM DETECTED.

  • can you still watch tv?

  • yeah

  • @jrod898 yeah! What it is, is that the computer is like another input on ur TV so u cn still watch TV dvds, movies and still play ur games

  • Basically your not turning your T.V. into a monitor, your just using a monitor that has VGA which is what your using with your computer, and HD Component or AV inputs which is what your average T.V. would have. Today just about every flat screen or HD T.V. you go out and buy will have a VGA input for those people who want to use it as a large computer monitor, or my favorite Duel Display.

  • it didnt work for me

  • just so ppl know, i'm not exactly a pro at hardware and cables and stuff. i just found out how to turn a TV into a monitor when i was playing around. so im sorry, but i cant help
