Ted got a student deferment at the same time he was touring with his rock band putting in an average of 300 shows a year How was he going to school and touring that much at the same time? 30 days before his Draft Board Physical he stopped all forms of personal hygiene The last 10 days he ingested nothing but junk food, a week before his physical he stopped using the bathroom altogether living inside his pants caked with excrement and urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment. Coward!
This version has to be on some bootleg out there? I've heard about an album or dvd called "Live gonzo", (not the Double live gonzo LP) is it someone out there who knows where I can find it?
So I went up to this young bird in a nightclub and I asked her, suavely, "Where have you been all my life ?" She sneeringly looked me up and down and venomed, "Well Grandad I haven't been around for well over half of it !!"
Good God!! Where does this video footage come from!? I was there, the 'If It's Too Loud You Are Too Old Tour'.. who put this up, is there any more?? Good God!
@thirdgradedumb It was a truly superb line up, only this morning I took delivery of the remasterd Double Live Gonzo. Try the Full Bluntal Nugity Disc 2 stuff. DST pops up on Just What The Doctor Ordered. Teds playing is totally out of this world on Disc 2. Nothing stays the same at that level of intensity, it's only The Rolling Stones who can 'hang it together' over time and seasons. Where the fuck is the rest of this 1977 material. It's Gold Dust.
GodDAMN!!! Derek just ROCKS on this!! The day he left was the day Ted's career sank!! This is probably my very FAVE Teddy song! LOVE the rephrasing of this from the studio version!!!
what he lacks in speed (which aint much), he makes up for in complexity - watch the motorcity madhouse or wang dang sweet poontang in the related vids to the side, and you'll see what i mean :)
I didn't know that St. Holmes could hang with the Nuge like he does in this live show. He was really good when he played with the Nuge. Too bad they went their seperate ways.
@jakerandall123 That had something to do with their rifts....Ted didn't want to be upstaged and St Holmes wanted to be a bigger part of the show...Ted wanted to be the band....sucks when ego's mess it all up. They really had a good thing going.
@blite13 I also heard St. Holmes liked to party a bit and Nuge didn't like that but I'm not sure how true that is. Funny, you don't find much info on the break up of Nuge and St. Holmes/Grange.
@paguaplayer Heard that too, Ted used it as a reason to dump a guy who wanted to be a focal point of the shows and writing. It's freakin Rock and Roll, of course there will be partying involved, if Ted couldn't handle that, he is in the wrong business. Ted wanted control and the stage, DSH wanted some of that and Ted said NO. Grange said Ted's ego blew overboard and became impossible to deal with.I mean Ted is screwing everything in site and then preaches about partying? CONTROL, TED CRAVES IT.
@blite13 Yeah, I love Ted, but hate that DSH got screwed in the deal. We know Ted has an ego and a half. I heard it got so bad they weren't even talking to each other, other than to say Fuck You to each other. Ted would never have played anything other than the Michigan circuit w/o DSH and Grange. Too bad, they would have been one of the best of all time.
@paguaplayer yea,..... i know.Ted is a spotlight hog fer sure.DSH never got his props. And he could sing like a mofo. Its like the light was purposely a shade OR TWO dimmer.
@paguaplayer You don't find much info on that do you? It's funny only today I was checking out what happened to Cliff Davies and Rob Grange. You know, Ted kept going and DSH appears on his 2008 DVD.. they worked it out somehow. What I want to know is where is the rest of this superb 1977 footage and can I get any?
How the fuck could it be better thean the studio version? I was there. This is just a standard live version did we did for the the dumb cunts like you
Pure class,Ive just got onto youtube after kids left computer switched on and left me in the house on my own, I feel like some perv lookin for ted nugent vids but this takes me back to my youth,I was at this concert with three of my mates , we came from up north, the original hicks from the sticks, and we got ripped of in soho.Happy days

Derek St. Holmes was a "challenge" to Ted. He actually carried this band. I know you will disagree.

I could see St. Holmes upstaging the Nuge at the time. Grange and Davies were amazing as well.
