He is trying to speak in a language in which he has less knowledge, but he is trying to do his best. But, it might have been far better to speak in malayalam, and have somebody did the translation. To avoid embarrassment, communicate in the language we know well. In emergencies, we may be forced to speak the sign laguages or broken language. He tried, but created laughter to all.
I dont think that everyone in India is supposed to know English. And I dont think that just because a person know English, makes him educated.
