Simon changed his opinion later on, after Chris performed Fuel's 'Hemorrhage' and he said his performance was the only 'real world' perf. of the night. Simon was also shocked when Chris was voted off Idol at #4 and didn't get in the top 3. I feel Simon's early critique of Chris may have been the driving force of Chris' success today, IMO.

But i'd say this is much better than other pop songs, you know, i see way to many cases where big pop stars simply have forgotten what music truly is about. It's about spreading a message, put your feelings in them, and so on. These days it's too much about getting the money, and sure, it works in the start, but how real does it feel ? I mean, music should reach out to ppl's feelings and hearts.
