  • I was with Sing Out Baltimore from 1967 to 1970. Best time of my life.

  • That sure was a different way of doing Up With People. I played rythym guitar and sang in Sing Out Portland (OR) from 1968-1971. What great memories I have of those days.

  • Twisted

  • This is like a free preview into the 9th circle of hell.

  • I'm trying to figure out the logic behind color scheme of the outfits and I just cannot. I am also trying to figure out why the first singer was chosen for his solo and am similarly floored.

  • Wow this brought back some happy memories! I was a cast member of Sing Out St. Petersburg while stationed at Mac Dill AFB in Tampa, Florida in the mid 1960's. The Up with People songs are just as timely now as they were than.

  • I'm going to use this as my new exercise video!

  • I remember doing this in 5th class as part of a play, and my teacher convinced me he had written it himself. My whole life is a lie!

  • As I'm watching UWP videos, am finding more and more people who were in sing outs?? We need a facebook page or something. I talked to someone in the Alumni association a couple years ago, but nothing came of it.

  • This brings back so many memories. I was with Sing Out Monterey, Ca in the 60's when I was in highschool. I recall it being so much fun and a great experience for a young teen. Thanks for the memory.

  • @iverson13429 Came down from Sing Out Sacramento in May of 1968 to help do a show at Seaside H.S.

I met Dee Castanos in your group. Married her in May of 1971. We were married 32 years before she passed away. Glad to see that you still have great memories of UWP. Dwayne

  • Is that Harry Ellis Dickson leading the POPS Esplanade Orchestra summer of '82? That brings back some memories. I was singing with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus back then. Didn't know about this concert at all. Wish I'd seen it. Was in Sing Out Springfield (MA) UWP in 70 and 71. I like the haircuts and outfits!

  • Wow, this brought me back to 1970, when I traveled with Cast B. What an experience. Hard work but very rewarding as I traveled to many places. I wonder what happened to Linda Blackmore. What a singer

  • Up, up with people

You meet 'em wherever you go

    Up, up with people

They're the best kind of folks we know

    If more people/Were for people

    And people everywhere

There'd be a lot less people to worry about

And a lot more people who care.

Ok, this is pretty corny to me, so I am really amazed at the huge audience response. Are we really that much more cynical now than then? This just strikes me as entertainment for small children or something.

  • Is this video proof that Up with People invented aerobics? I got tired just watching them swing their arms and sing at the same time! Thanks for the memories.

  • omg! i remember begging my parents to let me audition for this group! i remember i even got a flyer and an audition announcement, but did they let me go??? hell no...damn. thanks for posting anyways!!

  • @mrpungyao I so wish your parent had let you interview/audition for this group. I traveled with UWP in 1980 and it remains one of the most important, most vital experiences of my life !

  • i wonder why they skipped the third verse of the song

  • Go Brad B! Swing Claps Rule the world!!!

    :)
