Hello, this cooking looks great but there are many of us afraid of pressure cookers! Would you both consider giving us frady cats a primer on proper and safe use of a pressure cooker? Thank you!!
hetalmam and anuja mam...i made it today...it is yummy.my 3 year old daughter sanjana loved it............actually my husband praised it....i have been married for 4 years...........he always praises his moms cooking...........i was tiired and worried...yesterday i did not tell him thati made...i told neighbor gave..he showered praises......i was happy.................thank u................
@ShowMeTheCurry Ladies, though I am a Management lecturer, male but I am fond of cooking. I have an observation to make.
If you upload your videos in Hindi, giving it some good name (say Pakshastra, Bhartiya Rasoi etc.) you will appeal more to Indian housewives.
When i talk to ladies in office, home and try to take them to your videos they are not able to gel with it. They don't feel natural. I wish that......you art could reach to Indian housewives. The cooking in Indian homes is monotonous.
my fav recipes i have found so far are khichdi with fried cumin seeds, I love kushari the eyptian plate... and i really like fried eggplant in batter, i make fried pepper slices in chickpea flower with poppy seeds and mustard seeds. it's really good.
Ive tried several of your creations: tandoori roti, kaju katli, shahi paneer, spinach /chicken curry, biryani, fish cutlets, molten lava cake, idli, spinach paratha and Punjabi kadhi they were all taste sensations and highly appreciated by my family. Yesterday, I took inspiration from your masala kichadi recipe and made my own version it was a big hit. Thank you to the pair of you for being such an inspiration. All the best in delighting the world with your culinary expertise :-)
For the first timer, this Khichadi turned out super. Thanks for wonderful recipe. It was very clear and to the point. Only information missing was number of people this quantity/portion would serve to.
I would like to know what kind of rice u used for this recipe. To my observation that looks like the regular long grain rice that u get in sams or any other grocery store, thanks
You ladies are very enjoyable to listen to and watch. I have never had any Indian food but I do like to cook even though Im a guy. Im still looking for a recipe that appeals to me to try. This one looks good but I don't have a pressure cooker. But Im sure I will find one I can cook. Very nice ladies. thank you.
This is a pressure pan and the brand is 'Vinod'. I bought itin India.
FYI- 'Vinod' company is no longer in business but they still have the pressure cookers/pans available at the larger Indian stores (USA). Another good brand is Prestige.
You can make Khichadi with any daal..the advantage of using Mung Daal is that it is easy to digest and cooks fast. With Toor Daal, the Grans don't get mushy and still retain their shape and the taste is different and really good.
Plus, this khichadi is for days when you just want to eat Khichadi and not because you are sick and 'have' to eat it;-)!
omg it looksso delicious n it is delicious.... am sure... hve to try it
