  • I saw them a few times in 83 in france and i still love this band

  • the best band ever

  • You got a fire spirit?

  • knowing anything about gun club, you'd know their initial mission was to set out to be the druggiest , most loaded band. Then a career developed, Fire of Love came before Jeff lee ditched the dope for just the drink and working out.

  • wow!

  • Invention was betrayed by the machine,

promised like it was promised to me

I'm going up to the mountain to see

how the last thing, will set me free, yeah...

I had to do something, I was wearing down,

    I was going down....

  • 24? 25?29 years ago sounds as fresh as it did then

  • I've had this album for around 25 years, and it can STILL raise up the little hairs on my arms!! I've always LOVED that driving guitar bit at the end, while he's singing: "I am going to the mountain"--It's very powerful, and Pistols-esque!

  • I can't think of any better dope/drug music than this..

  • @NYrocknrollbitch You probably ought to think a little harder then, or else lay off the drugs

  • A Great live show every time, the played in Vanc.

  • 1981? This was ahead of its time. I was only 16. Miami album is the best though.

  • no skool like the old skool!

  • Yep, LA's a cesspool.

  • l saw them live in 1985...

  • One of the most underrated band of all time. I love them!

  • This was my favorite album like what? 24 years ago. A must have.

  • In LA none of our major dick head labels care about us. Only during Hair Metal did they sign us. They're more apt to sign somebody in Montana. Gun Club is a prime example of LA being overlooked.

  • fuck the labels. do-it-yourself.

  • @centerrightpunk hey kiddiezzz... listen to this dood. cuz he knows wut the fuck hes talkin about. its obvious... IF u can see clearly. frum ur diemint Iz!!!

  • @centerrightpunk wrong. use the labels to tell everyone whats wrong and make a bigger change

  • @DGENERATE07 LOL. yea, and somehow just ignore all the corruption the labels do in their process of endless profit-chasing.

  • @centerrightpunk you'll be surprised by this but you're actually causing more corruption using your method instead of mine. if you use the small labels then yeah you're not feeding money to the fat cats but it's going to take hundreds of years to eventually stop them (if ever) because it's not going to stop the fact that a lot of bands will always use the major labels because they want their music to be heard (and there's nothing wrong with that) -this is just part 1, the next part is important

  • @centerrightpunk (part 2) on the other hand, if you use the big labels then you can put the message across the whole world how corporate society is blinding and robbing us all (John Lennon style!!). then we could start changing the world forever quickly (as well as just the music world!), which would be less of a loss then all the corruption and evil put into life by the major corporations whilst you supported indie labels that would probably never change the world

  • @centerrightpunk (part 3) of course there is the argument that if every band on the planet supported the indie labels right now then we would stop major music corruption right away, but that is never going to happen ever (it's a fact that it's impossible) because it's such a big risk that most musicians would never make that decision because they know for a fact that other bands wouldn't make the same decision and they would be left with hardly anybody ever hearing their music

  • Invention was betrayed by the machine,

promised like it was promised to me.

  • yeah, totally. That is the first thing I thought of when I heard gun club is that the pixies must have known about them and been influenced. His singing style is eerily similar to Frank Black's at times, and the music reminds me of the Pixies too. Classic stuff! I don't think Gun Club is recognized nearly enough nowadays. Alot of great Indie bands are widely considered classic these days, but you rarely, if ever, hear Gun Club mentioned in the same breath as Pixies, Minutemen or replacements.

  • just fantastic.......

  • 16 horsepowers cover on this one also rocks!

  • This album is as good as The Pixies and Surfer Rosa-Doolittle in the Greatness department. JLP must have inspired Frank Black's style somewhat

  • bama lama!

  • @bostweed haha i discovered this band today and i thought about that connection too
