the fun part is a walrus is goddamn strong and they defend themselves while being unable to escape so why dont go with the whole group slaughtering the polar bear ? because there wouldnt be polar bears anymore , thats nature ;p
@MrFasho123 You ever seen a polar bear attacking a bunch of walruses and this band, hold it and kill an adult walrus? No, you never saw, simply because it never happens. Walruses are stronger than polar bears, so he can not hold them, they just flee into the water and the fight is over, for this reason, the bear can only pick up cubs, ALWAYS .. However walruses old and sick, by their own will move away from the pack and stay on the beach to die. They know that by stepping away from (continue)...
@MrFasho123 from the band and stay on land, will not see the light of day again, just a carcass eaten by a polar bear will be there the next day. These are lonely and dying walruses that the polar bear kills with ease and these are the idiot videos that you see on the Internet and believed they were healthy adult male walruses, which are so easily killed by polar bears, without even trying to escape to the sea... Suicidal walruses ? LOL... WAKE UP !
They are largest, but because they need fat to maintain temperature. Probably not even the largest, really, but maybe the largest "normal" animal. A liger is at least the same size, and would eat it. But, that's not a natural animal.
@TA152H01 You are misinformed. Polar Bears are the worlds largest land carnivore - Google it buddy. Many male Polar Bears in Svalbard weight more than a 1500 pounds, some weigh more than a ton. The largest known weighed around 2200 pounds. A Polar Bear would decimate any tiger by snapping its neck like a toothpick with one swat of its gigantic 18 inch wide paw.
@XMIR10C Fat doesn't get strength. A Polar Bear is largely fat, not muscle like a Tiger. It needs this fat to maintain temperature and to help with swimming. It would not help in a fight against a much more agile, better armed animal.
Cats have weapons everywhere. Fat isn't the answer to that question. It would be an ugly, one-sided ass-kicking. Dead Polar Bear. Tears for you. Very sad.
@XMIR10C Dream on buddy. PB's have more muscle mass than a tiger. Longer claws, bigger teeth, massive sterno-cleido mastiod/deltoid system that can move 18 inch paw at a staggering angular momentum: L = r x mv , where mv = (100 kg arm) * (150 m/s) = r x 15000, r being the position vector with the shoulder at the origin (2000 pound bear). Get your facts straight and don't shoot off your moutht. Google : Monster grizzly hit by truck and look at those paws. Polar Bear paws are 50% larger.

I see some global warming related comments down there. Every living organism emit Infrared light, which is a component of light that actually causes heat. It's not within the visible light range for humans, but some other animals can see infrared. The infrared emitted by human beings plus all the technology is trapped within the atmosphere because of the greenhouse gas. That's what is causing global warming. It's not some sunlight being trapped. CO2's stop infrared from coming in, and going out.
Actually, Xaldin9, Polar bears MAINLY prey on species of seal: Harp seals and walruses, and occasionally arctic foxes and lemmings, but I don't think I even heard of Polar bears eating fish. That's what the more southern subsiding bear species eat, like brown bears and occasionally black bears, along with diets composing of a lot of plant matter and some other animal matter, like deer, caribou and moose, besides fish.
However, even black bears and brown bears eat grass, berries, roots, and other plant mater rather than hunting for fish or deer. But Polar bears aren't fish eaters. They eat seals, and walruses, and occasionally arctic foxes and lemmings. But I agree that it's sad how fucking humans are causing the bears to go long distances in the ocean to find food, and eventually cause them to tire out which just eventually leads them to drown after a while.
LOLZ. Are you so sure about that? Scientists already estimate that almost every species of mega fauna will die out within the next 2 million years, if HUMAN population keeps expanding, no matter if conservation efforts are in place. It's our rapidly spreading population thats effecting the environment, not just over-hunting.
I even did research on this topic, and it says that if human population keeps increasing like it, is most megafunal animals, like bears, seals, big cats, whales, crocodilians, possibly sharks, sand many other animals we've come to love and know will go extinct within the next 2 million years, even with conservation efforts in place, because of the fact humans dont stop expanding.
Humans are stubborn as a whole species and usually won't listen until it's too late. The remaining wild animals are expected to be snakes, rodents, small lizards, carrion birds, like vultures, crows, and ravens most arthropods, and many other invertebrate species and phylums. Although I dont mind having these animals around today, it still would be sad for most of the vertebrate diversity to die out.
True. Maybe rats would be the next sapient being? :P After all, when the other megafaunal species die out, as well as humans rats will probably be the best apt for becoming a super-intelligent species They are already included on the top ten smartest animal lists, that don't include us. They can hold things, can stand on their hind limbs for limited periods of time, and to tell you the truth, are not to far on the evolutionary scale
No, I actually meant sapient. I said that if conservation work fails, and humans die out, hopefully rats become sapient species that could reason better than us. They have very well formed brains already and since their brain is more complex than that of a one year olds, imagine how complex a rats brain is if the animal, itself, is the size of a human being. The larger the brain, the more neurons, and all small animals have dense brains.
Rats have a well developed mind, and have limited dexterity. If the majority of the animals die out, including our fucked up species, then the evolutionary line will be more open to rats and give them an opportunity to become sapient. Sapient means a being that is able to reason and produce certain forms of technology that certain animals couldnt do beforehand.
Sentient is any organism with some sort of train of thought, which can include insects and other invertebrates; not just vertebrates, alone. I do consider apes, elephants, crows, and dolphins semi- sapient as they have been known to use tools and can recognize their own reflections in the mirror. Crows are very intelligent and understand that cars on the street can be used to crush certain nuts they find too hard to break open themselves.
They drop the nut on purpose and let the car run it over, waiting for the car to drive by, and then they snatch their meal. Crows also have been found to use sticks to fish out certain things they cant reach on their own .
Why wouldn't I say other primates, like monkeys and apes, to be the next sapient animals? Because human overpopulation and over hunting will cause all of the species to go extinct eventually, even with conservation efforts in place. People don't get it. It doesnt matter if we have conservation efforts. The bottom line is, if our population keeps expanding the way it is, they will be no use.
- Snakes (evolve fairly quickly, when needed to, and do not require UVB light, as most snakes species are nocturnal, while most reptiles would die within a couple of months form lack of UVB, also known as MBD or Metabolic Bone Disease)
- Crabeater seals (10-100 million strong population)
- Arthropods, but the most common would probably be the following: ants, with an estimated ten quintillion population with all ant species included- scorpions, spiders, flies, fleas, ticks, pest species of cockroach (most cockroach species are not pests, actually), and krill may also be abundant
Blue fin tuna are the largest tuna species, but also listed as a critically endangered species, because of over-fishing for our rapidly growing population.
The only bear species that can actually be considered least concern on the IUCN Red List, is the American black bear, and still, compare their 1.8 million black bear population in the US to the 450 million human population in the US. The brown bear species as a whole is considered Near Threatened and the Polar bear population is Vulnerable, estimated to have a mere 25,000 individuals WORLDIWDE, including in sanctuaries and in captivity.
Which is still 5 times more than the estimated Polar Bear population in the 50-s.
All bears are opportunists and highly adaptable to changing circumstances. As long as there are enough Seals, Beluga's, etc. there will be Polar Bears.
Killing seals is still legal in the Northern regions, and Beluga whales are considered to be a Vulnerable species. And, again, with conservation efforts still in place, they still won't have a chance, as our population keeps expanding, ad the only way to stop it is to negotiate something with the world leaders. Many people are ignorant and decide not to only have one or two kids, and instead of 3 or more.
More population means more space being taken by humans, and more humans going into animal territory, which means more contact with these animals, which means more revenge killings on the animals, who do kill humans, which its not even their faults in the first place. Look at the policy with alligators.
Humans getting attacked by gators is getting more common because humans are expanding into their territory, and even though their population in the U.S. numbers 2 million, humans still kill alligators when they attack people, and yet the idiot person was the one who decides on going swimming in a stagnant lake or swamp, where the animals lurk.
Thats why theres more bear attacks in towns, more attacks by cougars, and there will even start being more attacks by wolves, if this population doesnt stay stabilized.

That polar bear that's covered in blood has issues because he clearly already ate. Hence the blood.
SingitDanceitLiveit 2 years ago
it's sad they usually eat fish but thre forced to eat other things because the water lvl is rising and they can't swim long enough to find their fish
Xaldin9 2 years ago
Actually, Xaldin9, Polar bears MAINLY prey on species of seal: Harp seals and walruses, and occasionally arctic foxes and lemmings, but I don't think I even heard of Polar bears eating fish. That's what the more southern subsiding bear species eat, like brown bears and occasionally black bears, along with diets composing of a lot of plant matter and some other animal matter, like deer, caribou and moose, besides fish.
BHHerper 2 years ago
However, even black bears and brown bears eat grass, berries, roots, and other plant mater rather than hunting for fish or deer. But Polar bears aren't fish eaters. They eat seals, and walruses, and occasionally arctic foxes and lemmings. But I agree that it's sad how fucking humans are causing the bears to go long distances in the ocean to find food, and eventually cause them to tire out which just eventually leads them to drown after a while.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Like all bears they are also great scavengers and born survivers. They will most probably still be around when we humans are long gone.
helmuthoorn 2 years ago
LOLZ. Are you so sure about that? Scientists already estimate that almost every species of mega fauna will die out within the next 2 million years, if HUMAN population keeps expanding, no matter if conservation efforts are in place. It's our rapidly spreading population thats effecting the environment, not just over-hunting.
BHHerper 2 years ago
yep thats why we need a pop limit...man hunt maybe no thats barbaric but we is way over populated we neet to do somethin
eagerbeaver53 2 years ago
I even did research on this topic, and it says that if human population keeps increasing like it, is most megafunal animals, like bears, seals, big cats, whales, crocodilians, possibly sharks, sand many other animals we've come to love and know will go extinct within the next 2 million years, even with conservation efforts in place, because of the fact humans dont stop expanding.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Humans are stubborn as a whole species and usually won't listen until it's too late. The remaining wild animals are expected to be snakes, rodents, small lizards, carrion birds, like vultures, crows, and ravens most arthropods, and many other invertebrate species and phylums. Although I dont mind having these animals around today, it still would be sad for most of the vertebrate diversity to die out.
BHHerper 2 years ago
i guess u could look on the bright side and think when were gone and all the mega fauna aswell somethin will eventually take there place
eagerbeaver53 2 years ago
BHHerper 2 years ago
@BHHerper Sentient. You mean Sentient, not Sapient. Sapient is a derivative of Sapien, as in Homo Sapien, the species that Humans belong to.
Fireye0 2 years ago
No, I actually meant sapient. I said that if conservation work fails, and humans die out, hopefully rats become sapient species that could reason better than us. They have very well formed brains already and since their brain is more complex than that of a one year olds, imagine how complex a rats brain is if the animal, itself, is the size of a human being. The larger the brain, the more neurons, and all small animals have dense brains.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Rats have a well developed mind, and have limited dexterity. If the majority of the animals die out, including our fucked up species, then the evolutionary line will be more open to rats and give them an opportunity to become sapient. Sapient means a being that is able to reason and produce certain forms of technology that certain animals couldnt do beforehand.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Sentient is any organism with some sort of train of thought, which can include insects and other invertebrates; not just vertebrates, alone. I do consider apes, elephants, crows, and dolphins semi- sapient as they have been known to use tools and can recognize their own reflections in the mirror. Crows are very intelligent and understand that cars on the street can be used to crush certain nuts they find too hard to break open themselves.
BHHerper 2 years ago
They drop the nut on purpose and let the car run it over, waiting for the car to drive by, and then they snatch their meal. Crows also have been found to use sticks to fish out certain things they cant reach on their own .
BHHerper 2 years ago
Why wouldn't I say other primates, like monkeys and apes, to be the next sapient animals? Because human overpopulation and over hunting will cause all of the species to go extinct eventually, even with conservation efforts in place. People don't get it. It doesnt matter if we have conservation efforts. The bottom line is, if our population keeps expanding the way it is, they will be no use.
BHHerper 2 years ago
The animals will die from us expanding into their territory because of our policy of eliminating everything in our path.
BHHerper 2 years ago 2
The following list is of the most probable animals to be existent on our planet after 2 million years of continuous human expansion.
Most likely animal candidates to be surviving in the next 2 million years:
BHHerper 2 years ago
- Probably us, of course, unless if an extinction occurs
- Rodents, especially rats and mice (squirrels are a maybe, as squirrels have been known to hunt birds and other small mammals)
- Scavenging and resourceful aves, such as vultures, crows, ravens, pigeons, sparrows, MAYBE and magpies
BHHerper 2 years ago
- Snakes (evolve fairly quickly, when needed to, and do not require UVB light, as most snakes species are nocturnal, while most reptiles would die within a couple of months form lack of UVB, also known as MBD or Metabolic Bone Disease)
- Crabeater seals (10-100 million strong population)
BHHerper 2 years ago
- Arthropods, but the most common would probably be the following: ants, with an estimated ten quintillion population with all ant species included- scorpions, spiders, flies, fleas, ticks, pest species of cockroach (most cockroach species are not pests, actually), and krill may also be abundant
- Sharks

Blue fin tuna are the largest tuna species, but also listed as a critically endangered species, because of over-fishing for our rapidly growing population.
BHHerper 2 years ago
The only bear species that can actually be considered least concern on the IUCN Red List, is the American black bear, and still, compare their 1.8 million black bear population in the US to the 450 million human population in the US. The brown bear species as a whole is considered Near Threatened and the Polar bear population is Vulnerable, estimated to have a mere 25,000 individuals WORLDIWDE, including in sanctuaries and in captivity.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Which is still 5 times more than the estimated Polar Bear population in the 50-s.
All bears are opportunists and highly adaptable to changing circumstances. As long as there are enough Seals, Beluga's, etc. there will be Polar Bears.
helmuthoorn 2 years ago
Killing seals is still legal in the Northern regions, and Beluga whales are considered to be a Vulnerable species. And, again, with conservation efforts still in place, they still won't have a chance, as our population keeps expanding, ad the only way to stop it is to negotiate something with the world leaders. Many people are ignorant and decide not to only have one or two kids, and instead of 3 or more.
BHHerper 2 years ago
More population means more space being taken by humans, and more humans going into animal territory, which means more contact with these animals, which means more revenge killings on the animals, who do kill humans, which its not even their faults in the first place. Look at the policy with alligators.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Humans getting attacked by gators is getting more common because humans are expanding into their territory, and even though their population in the U.S. numbers 2 million, humans still kill alligators when they attack people, and yet the idiot person was the one who decides on going swimming in a stagnant lake or swamp, where the animals lurk.
BHHerper 2 years ago
Thats why theres more bear attacks in towns, more attacks by cougars, and there will even start being more attacks by wolves, if this population doesnt stay stabilized.

wonder if the walrus is dead yet? how much did they eat of the thing before it finally died?

I hate polar bears, I hate them because I know if I ever met one it would eat me. Can you put yourself it that walrus's position, being alive and having that huge thing chomping down on your face?
