Well, giving the fact that the 6.4 billion dollars were going to come out of the citizen's of Louisiana and the rest of the affected areas, it did not seem to be like a generally good idea to pass a fund of that magnitude. Also giving the fact that most of that money didn't even go to the resident's at the 9th ward for a time period of 18 month's also states it wasn't a good idea.

it wasn't until Mid 2006 that they got a higher influx. Oddly enough the new Hummers came out around the same time

Obama is a senator and Mcccain is a senator and they vote for what they believe in not what they say they believe in and Obama voted against the monies to rebuild the Huuricane ravenged states and Mccain voted for these funds and where do you get that Louisiana paid for these funds?

The area of Louisiana ( hence the states in the region of the mid west post LA purchase ) were the ones that were heavily taxed to pay for the damages in New Orleans..just so you know (plus I'm not insinuating that it was only the 10 or so states in the region payed for Katrina AID, it's just the other 40 or so states were paying higher war taxes). Somehow I find it hard to believe you would expect someone to not comment back by saying a fellow senator would not want to help his fellow citizens.

I admit Obama isn't a saint but compared to McCain on the issues of war, diplomacy, economic, and ESPECIALLY civil, McCain is very weak. Military service does alot to character and leadership, but constantly changing your opinion on liberal views to conservatism is much to erratic to be a sufficient leader.....just to be clear I am aware Obama was in the US senate for 3 years so please don't repeat yourself like I don't know.

IMO, from his voting history, I can now see that McCain mostly votes on things that benefits his agenda (not for the care of those struggling; those unlike him).

In 2005, his vote should have been YES, since that bill was for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. But, the bells and whistles weren't attached, and he was far from the current 2008 election.

On 5/24/07 Congress voted on Vote #181 on the motion to provide $6.4 billion dollars towards hurricane relief efforts to the Gulf Coast.Mccain voted YES to provide these funds !! Obama voted NO !!!!

I am correct Representative45...Obama voted against funding to hurricane relief funding of 6.4 billion dollars on 5/24/07.The funding passed however by a vote of 80-14 with 10 democrats voting NO including Obama.Look it up..Obama supporters should be more informed with the hard facts instead of what the media says.You can study voting records if you bother to.

I'm not a fanatic of either party, but Obama did vote "NO" on HR 2206, and McCain voted YES. But, to me, this bill was bitter-sweet. The bill was for Katrina AND for funding the Iraq war AND for government departments. It's like they used Katrina, to fulfill other purposes, and maybe Obama didn't support that (trojan).

But, behold, Obama voted YES, for Katrina, on Bill: S 2020 and McCain voted NO for it! This, was in 11/17/*2005*, with no funds for government purposes. McCain?
