Jude Law is an urban planner, looking to create "urban renewal", but many feel that he's taking advantage of the economic blight of the area.

When the boys rob his office, he feels violated. But then he has an affair with the boy's mother, knowing that her son is the thief. The title "Breaking and Entering" is apt, because several of the people are out of bounds.

I guess the film is about how the different classes in the UK try to cheat each other.

This was a great movie. I think the main parable is that there's many ways that a person can trespass into places they don't belong. Jude Law's character gets mad when kids break into his office, but he can't see his actions through other people's eyes; they see him as a rich man who bulldozes other people out of the neighborhood.

He's also incredibly selfish. He sleeps with that woman, knowing who her son is. But would he like it if her son Miro seduced his mentally-challenged stepdaughter?
