If they were ever to make an anime series I just hope they'd make it like this and not have all the episodes revolve around mindless fighting monster-of-the-week style. They could fix some plot holes and explain or expand on stuff such as Repliforce, how X and Zero met, the foundation of Maverick hunters and other stuff we were told but not shown. They have a lot of backstory, it would make an awesome anime if the writers knew what to do with the material.

It's pretty funny that Dr. Light keeps building all these "peaceful" and "humanity-serving" robots... but then he gives each one of them a big GUN for an arm.
Weird enough, MMX4 shows how Sigma got his scar from Zero instead of X, when he fights and defeat him, and it was way before than the time set on this ova.
idk his face got messed up in the fight yeah but then his whole body got messed up vs zero, im sure its not the case but maybe Cain fixed Sigma face and all so this was when he got the scar, but thats just my theory
I really like this ova; some of the best voice acting in megaman, a good plot, and it was interesting to see the bosses as actually part of the hunter team if only as a cover up for Sigma.

Poor Dr. Light he thought that he could humanity and give them hope. Thanks to the creation of robots that were built to be like X wars broke out and eventually in the newer ZX games humans are extinct.

Not really, it had more do with Doctor Cain, and his fellow sciencists half assed attempt to copy X and Zero that cause the rise of reploids and mavericks. They didnt understand 100% how either worked and just left out things or made knock off parts. They then mass produced this error a million fold. Doctor Light put X away to have him run self tests to make sure he didnt awaken before he was ready. Wily created the virus that infected Sigma, so hes indirectly responible for the destruction.
But the question is: Why? why wily wanted to poison the robots of the future? Fucking capcom, make the last episode of one of your games so we can start understanding the links in the games easyer!!!

This is just a guess, but I think he wanted this legacy to go on after through Zero after his death. How did he get the Maverick virus though? The only conclusions that makes sense that he either made it himself or was by an accidental experiment.
Once he had it, Wily made it so that anyone who came into contact with Zero could be infected, thus spreading it to all robots
But im not convinced with the "Wily is evil" explanation. He is no friggin Kefka, he doesnt wants to end all life and create a monument to non-existence. He has a more terrenal desire for power: Rule the Earth.

Very valid questions. Capcom should come up with an explanation instead of keeping us in the dark. It could very well be they don't know how to explain either.
Another explanation I'd like to know is what happened after Megaman X Command Mission and the first Megaman Zero game. What happened between those 2 periods as well?
@Lastjustice Zero was never copied. X4 clearly shows how reploids were already around in large numbers before zero's existance was even known. In fact,it's zero's sole existance that caused the robots to go maverick, due to the Zero virus infecting Sigma, which then mutated into a Sigma Virus which caused robots to go maverick while maintaining some good enough intelligence to have a sense of self.
@michelrpg There were also Mavericks before Zero appeared. Sigma was the original leader of the Maverick hunters. They goofed due to malfunctions and other glitches so what you posted is incorrect. The virus other caused more mavericks it's not the sole reason. When Zero was defeated in the cutscene in X4...he was taken to Doctor Cain to be studied. He was found fairly early in the developement of reploids. So everything I said stands. Rewatch the scene in X 4 if you don't agree.

Nothing you say stands.Considering X was locked in statis for over 30 years (or more, I dont remember), and Zero is around his age (or even possibly Older, since Wily could have refered to either Light OR Megaman with the "destroy him" command, which makes him even older than X) Zero could have been around for decades, but just never actually verified. Zero held the original Maverick Virus in him (verified in X5) and the virus mutated in Sigma into a conscious virus (X3)

I believe that testing is what gave X the personality he has and since reploids are able to think for themselves, without the testing they thought of why they are obeying the humans when they are superior to us and then rebelled.

@elgato9o urgh... typed a reply, didnt post. Yes dr light stated that, but X was activated before the analysis and tests were done. Since his analysis wasnt completed, and every other reploid is based on his programming, he could technically still turn maverick, since a majority of the reploids have suffered the same fate.
@michelrpg where u get that from o0 when he was discovered it was loong past the time needed for these testings to be completed (think i read it in the wiki somewhere) and all the reploids that are based on X design did never undergo such testing and hence were susceptibles to become "maverick"
@elgato9o I was misstaken about it being interrupted yeah, I just reread some info. However, X still was the initial first reploid and every reploid made was still based on his programming. The testing was to see if X (as a reploid) could pose a danger. Obviously this wasn't the case since he wasn't shut down permanently. Just think of every reploid made as a "child" of X. Without him they wouldn't exist, but they all share the same weaknesses more or less, including possibly becoming a maverick

There were Mavericks before Zero was uncovered, and his virus was sent loose to mutate into the Maverick virus. Though it is unknown, there is much speculation among fans that some of these Mavericks were caused by errors to their system: after all, X had not been fully analyzed, and he was working with an archaeologist, Dr. Cain, as opposed to a robotics specialist. So it makes sense that there might have been some errors to cause them to go insane.
Zero is a little weakly in this OVA shown remember X4 Zero vs. Sigma sequence he slaughters sigma as nearly... This show is great only alas to short...
Well X6 is one of my favorites because of its dificulty and stages desing, But the original Megaman are my favorites espesially Megaman 2, 3, 4, 7 and 9 XD

I really like this ova; some of the best voice acting in megaman, a good plot, and it was interesting to see the bosses as actually part of the hunter team if only as a cover up for Sigma.

Poor Dr. Light he thought that he could humanity and give them hope. Thanks to the creation of robots that were built to be like X wars broke out and eventually in the newer ZX games humans are extinct.

Not really, it had more do with Doctor Cain, and his fellow sciencists half assed attempt to copy X and Zero that cause the rise of reploids and mavericks. They didnt understand 100% how either worked and just left out things or made knock off parts. They then mass produced this error a million fold. Doctor Light put X away to have him run self tests to make sure he didnt awaken before he was ready. Wily created the virus that infected Sigma, so hes indirectly responible for the destruction.

Very good question. I'd like to know that myself. Of course, we all know Wily is evil.
This is just a guess, but I think he wanted this legacy to go on after through Zero after his death. How did he get the Maverick virus though? The only conclusions that makes sense that he either made it himself or was by an accidental experiment.
Once he had it, Wily made it so that anyone who came into contact with Zero could be infected, thus spreading it to all robots

I think the accident makes more sense. Anyways, If he created zero and zero was better than the 1st megaman, why isnt willy ruling the world? X tests were supossed to finish in 30 years. Why ligth left no one to wake him? what happened to the robots of the megaman era? CAPCOM!!

Very valid questions. Capcom should come up with an explanation instead of keeping us in the dark. It could very well be they don't know how to explain either.
Another explanation I'd like to know is what happened after Megaman X Command Mission and the first Megaman Zero game. What happened between those 2 periods as well?

@Lastjustice Zero was never copied. X4 clearly shows how reploids were already around in large numbers before zero's existance was even known. In fact,it's zero's sole existance that caused the robots to go maverick, due to the Zero virus infecting Sigma, which then mutated into a Sigma Virus which caused robots to go maverick while maintaining some good enough intelligence to have a sense of self.

@michelrpg There were also Mavericks before Zero appeared. Sigma was the original leader of the Maverick hunters. They goofed due to malfunctions and other glitches so what you posted is incorrect. The virus other caused more mavericks it's not the sole reason. When Zero was defeated in the cutscene in X4...he was taken to Doctor Cain to be studied. He was found fairly early in the developement of reploids. So everything I said stands. Rewatch the scene in X 4 if you don't agree.

Nothing you say stands.Considering X was locked in statis for over 30 years (or more, I dont remember), and Zero is around his age (or even possibly Older, since Wily could have refered to either Light OR Megaman with the "destroy him" command, which makes him even older than X) Zero could have been around for decades, but just never actually verified. Zero held the original Maverick Virus in him (verified in X5) and the virus mutated in Sigma into a conscious virus (X3)

Read the article on the megaman wiki since I can't link it and then come back and talk to me. This blows holes in everything you said. @Lastjustice Zero existed before reploids. The zero virus existed before reploids. We don't know when exactly zero awoke, we only know he went on a brutal rampage before sigma ever saw him. Maybe you are right and Cain didnt design the reploids properly. Or maybe you are wrong and the zero virus infected reploids the moment he woke up. We simply dont know. Im not saying you are wrong. I am saying you will never be right till capcom clears it up.

@michelrpg he is right about blaming cain, as i believe the reason reploids went against humans before the virus was bcuz they didnt go thru some testing period of 30years like X did. I believe that testing is what gave X the personality he has and since reploids are able to think for themselves, without the testing they thought of why they are obeying the humans when they are superior to us and then rebelled.

@elgato9o urgh... typed a reply, didnt post. Yes dr light stated that, but X was activated before the analysis and tests were done. Since his analysis wasnt completed, and every other reploid is based on his programming, he could technically still turn maverick, since a majority of the reploids have suffered the same fate.

@michelrpg where u get that from o0 when he was discovered it was loong past the time needed for these testings to be completed (think i read it in the wiki somewhere) and all the reploids that are based on X design did never undergo such testing and hence were susceptibles to become "maverick"

@elgato9o I was misstaken about it being interrupted yeah, I just reread some info. However, X still was the initial first reploid and every reploid made was still based on his programming. The testing was to see if X (as a reploid) could pose a danger. Obviously this wasn't the case since he wasn't shut down permanently. Just think of every reploid made as a "child" of X. Without him they wouldn't exist, but they all share the same weaknesses more or less, including possibly becoming a maverick

There were Mavericks before Zero was uncovered, and his virus was sent loose to mutate into the Maverick virus. Though it is unknown, there is much speculation among fans that some of these Mavericks were caused by errors to their system: after all, X had not been fully analyzed, and he was working with an archaeologist, Dr. Cain, as opposed to a robotics specialist. So it makes sense that there might have been some errors to cause them to go insane.
