This song is so perfect! First of all, love the lyrics anyway "You've done nothing at all/to make me love you less." But so perfect for this song, since Stefan and Elena are broken up but both love each other. They just need to work things out first. They can always "Come back when you can."

@ShelbyRhneeJones apparently its because he's realising that to protect her, he has to be strong enough to fight off the other vampires. If continues to drink animal blood, he wouldnt be able to protect her. I believe Elena hasn't been told that she and Katherine look identical. Stefan never told her she looks alot like her. Damon didn't specifically say that they look alike. The way he said it, it was very vague (e.g. Family Ties). If you don't believe me, try doing a TVD marathon. And you'll see...

Poor Stefan, yes. But Damon...he really was in love with Katherine. That episode proved how much he loved her, all that time and his heart is still broken, while Stefan is trying to move on Damon can't, I think his love for her was real, and thats why he acts the way he does.
