@XB0XFR34K Not necessarily, it all depends on the urethane used. Also, the contact patch determines how easy it is for it to slide. The smaller the patch, the easier it is to slide.
@SurfinTiki26 Anything grippy, some decent wheels would be Orangatang, retro big zigs, etc. Basically anything that will grip hard with a square-ish lip.
Hey guys just lettin you know, im selling some BRAND NEW yellow free ride durians and im also selling some never used bones super red bearings for cheap. message me if u want either one of those. Or both.
The durometer of wheels is indicated by a number with the letter "A" afterward. Most wheels are in between 75a and 85a, the lower number being softer.
killswich vs rocky bomber ks - set up pairs 180 with flash backs and rockey bomber- randle 50 degree 180 with purple 4prez manly free ride and a little down hill
@RushVoltage so if i bought them in 84 a will they slide pretty well, because i have 80a monster hawgs and i cant slide on them will gumballs slide better
@IamMrLiverpoolfc they have good grip and are smooth for downhill so downhill they get an A+ and for sliding they aren't the best but they will slide just not as easily as a rounder wheel. i've owned gumballs and they are great so i would recommend them and i wouldn't worry about sliding because they will slide as well as be stupendous for downhill
@TakeaBouw every one is saying stims.. but avoid them! not worth the money. look at some abec 11 there amazing makes the stims look like shit try some abec flash backs or abec free rides
Hey motionboardshop can you guys make a comparison of sector9 raceforms and retro bigzzigs/zigzags? Something like a speed comparison, slide comparison, etc Thanks
HELP!!! i really want the abec 11 flashbacks but idk what duro i should get!! i do alot of tech downhill and freerdinging. i was thinking about getting the 78a's but idk. i really just want thane lines and easy sliding. PLEASE HELP!!!
this dude messed up the zig zags the orange one is 86a!!! and well i rude orangatang and i find it esiar to slide with an 80a duro 4pres than with a 86a i think that the softer the slidiest
i just got a Riviera Titan 34' and it has paris 150mm trucks.the wheels are Divine 70mm 78A.they seem really grippy and i want to do slides.does anyone know if they slide better over time?
dude, thank you so much. you seriously cleared so many things up for me. im still having trouble deciding weather i want an orangotang in heat or the bigzigs. im going to get a loaded dervish. i mostly use my board to cruise around but i wanna learn some slide. so far ive narrowed it down to the lime bigzigs and purple orangatangs. please help me decide. thanks!
@XxTheJosephxX YOU WANT SPEED!!!!!!! THEN GET IN HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...or 4prez....depending on you board size, i would get inheat 80a....amazing speed!!!!
i have a dogtown mini cruiser with B.L. Emergencies (centerset 78a 68mm) and am looking to replace them with something that'l be fast, rail turns, (maybe 81a-86a), good for slides, and are good for carving. and im kinda stuck on what wheels i should get
im new to longboarding and i rlly need some help... i have a Krown Tidal Wave Pin Complete Longboard Skateboard... and i dont rlly like to kick every second so what would be some good wheels that are affortable that will keep me going at a good speed without kicking every second... please right back asap thanks
I'm sorry guys but I can't find the second part of this video, any suggestions? Anyway I think this guide is so useful to lazy people like me, thanks!
@LittleRed13255 i would suggest a Krackedskulls scimitar. It is cheap and low enough to cruise easily. Also it is versitile enough to do Downhill and carve based on your setup. And i would definetly reccomend BigZigs 80a's for wheels. I hope that helped.
what would be the best wheels for sliding but still not being to slippery . around 86a or below but still being a high quality wheel. i currently have the land yatchz switchblade
its so hard to review wheels for sliding because it's all personal preference, for instance you may love mayonnaise and think that i should eat it and nothing else but i hate mayonnaise it reminds me of semen.
Do you guys by any chance offer lessons on sliding? I have been long boarding for a little over a year, but i want to try more adventurous riding techniques
I'm sorta new to longboarding and i want new wheels. i want to slide, preferrably about 70mm wheels, but i also want to have a decent free riding wheel, is there an in between wheel that will do both?
@nuclearthreat545 yeh the vid wasn't scripted that well >.< cuz he went into 75mm once he got to the Retro BigZigs...also he kinda fumbled words around a bit too often. All in all good info, but maybe focus on a wider variety of wheels. I didn't see any Zombie Hawgs or O-tang Stim/Durs being reviewed all of which are very popular sliding wheels. The In-Heats are better for downhill than sliding but he kind of praises their sliding abilities without mentioning other more slide oriented options.
@VexyWexy the wolfshark is a speedboard made for going fast down big hills. I wouldn't recommend durians for this board because they are round lipped wheels which are made for freeriding and sliding. If you feel comfortable riding otangs then I recommend getting in heats or 4presidents. These are made for going fast and gripping.
will durians work well on a wolf shark? i got some 82a zombies and they wear stupid fast and uneven and i also hear the harder duro of zombies kills bearings and wear jsut as bad. i have used otangs in the past on other boards and loved them. so i wanted to go back to what i know. so pleas help. will the durians work well?
i wish i was coming to you to buy my longboard, im a complete noob, i just learned about these today and fell in love with it, i really want to learn to longboard and want to buy my first one! but i have not a clue about longboards, and i really want to learn what i should get! my town has some smooth roads, and lots of bumpy ones, i really just wanna cruse around town on it, not do tons of tricks, im unsure what board/size wheel i should get? any help will be much loved, great video!
@LittleRed13255 Buy tall ones. Like 39-42 inches. If you are going to cruise I suggest that you get a low longboard so it is easier to kick. Then comes the price part. The trucks and wheels.
Buy paris, randall or gull wing trucks. They are very smooth to turn on and can turn very sharp.
Also buy soft wheels. 80a's are pretty soft. with a 70mm hight.
Good luck. I have been longbarding for a week and I LOVE IT! So addictive man!
@LittleRed13255 i just started this year and think that it is fun. it rly does not matter what size if you are starting when you get your board just use whatever wheels are on it then after a bit you should have a good idea of what wheels you will want.
@LittleRed13255 get a landyachtz dropcarve, great for cruising and carving, but can also do some good slides, as for wheels, i like orangatangs durians, but abec 11 make some great wheels, check em out
@LittleRed13255 Center set and mid 70s inch to lower 80s inch wheels with a durometer in the upper 70s to lower 80s are best for all around cruise, carve, and downhill all in one. Motion Highlander decks are sweet with a set of paris 180" trucks and abec11 flywheel 78a durometer 83" as an all around deck. Use Crail trucks for serious dh, otherwise Paris 180s are fine as long as you have yellow khiro or harder bushings. Just be sure to use cupped/stock washers, not to get the possible wheel-bite!
@LittleRed13255 forgot to mention...If you weigh under 140lbs, I guess you can settle for blue khiro bushings for super awesome carving, but those can be a bit sketchy on super tight turns and/or slides, but don't even think of using any bushings softer than blue khiro....unless you get a Motion Highlander IV which solved the problem of wheelbite for bigger wheels. There you can freely use blue and even softy super carvy orange khiro bushings, possibly even flat washers would work too.
@LittleRed13255 if you just wanna cruise than use a larger board, and use grippy wheels like ABEC 11 Flashbacks or Grippins, or Orangatang In Heats. and get paris trucks, I have Randalls and my friends all have Paris's and they're way better.
I do NOT like how inheat slide, unless your talking about making some useful slide through corner to cut some speed away, then the inheat will do, for free riding/ more technical slide, the inheat will not be a fun wheel.
@TheLongLamas im not sure, about the 4prez, btw if you must go with inheat, get something harder than your usual hardness, because they have these circular cut out that makes them more flatten out and rebound... it just feels a bit softer than it is, at least me. Well what kind of longboarding you want to do? tech slide? bomb hill? all around?
1) Lime Zigs (great wheel, well worth the money, no complain. (83a)
2) 74 or 76mm Sector 9 Race Forms (great wheels bro)
3) Otang inheats 80a less slide, 82a better slide 84a slide more.... In heats is really not too bad of all around wheel, but if you want SLIDE, it will not be your best option, but for all around and a few 180 stand up slide here and there, it will work fine.
Extra note is that, inheats can slide but just kinda choppy, some people might like inheats but i dont
@JackAssBrotherss Purple are awesome, but cone a little bit easier than the orange. Purple's are fast and a little slidier than the orange. I usually ride my DH board with both (Purple in front for speed, Orange, so I don't slip out from the back)
let me ask, I am aware of the flywheels and the largest size available, i bought a set about 6 months ago, are these the tallest wheels made?, mind you my board does not hinder the heigth of my wheels at all, perhaps also you can tell me which one is the widest wheel as well
i wanna get a killswitch soo badly i was thinkin killswitch randal 42 basepl8 and 180 hanger
then i was thinkin either abec 11 strikers 81 a or 84 (howd they slide) or otanf in heats orange or purps im mainly gonna get this 4 downhill soooo ye can anyone help btw paris or randal
@MATandBENgetLOADED As for the wheels, 80a In Heats or 4prez are perfect for freeriding! As for the trucks, You could combine a Paris hangar with a Randal 42* BP. Super turny, but AWESOME stability. AKA "Prandals"
and translucent landyachtz? are good for? slides, drifts?

i wish i was coming to you to buy my longboard, im a complete noob, i just learned about these today and fell in love with it, i really want to learn to longboard and want to buy my first one! but i have not a clue about longboards, and i really want to learn what i should get! my town has some smooth roads, and lots of bumpy ones, i really just wanna cruse around town on it, not do tons of tricks, im unsure what board/size wheel i should get? any help will be much loved, great video!

@LittleRed13255 i would reccomend an loaded dervish, landyachtz bamboo pinner hope this helps.

Just be sure to use cupped/stock washers, not to get the possible wheel-bite!
syndrome666 6 months ago
@LittleRed13255 forgot to mention...If you weigh under 140lbs, I guess you can settle for blue khiro bushings for super awesome carving, but those can be a bit sketchy on super tight turns and/or slides, but don't even think of using any bushings softer than blue khiro....unless you get a Motion Highlander IV which solved the problem of wheelbite for bigger wheels. There you can freely use blue and even softy super carvy orange khiro bushings, possibly even flat washers would work too.
syndrome666 6 months ago
@LittleRed13255 if you just wanna cruise than use a larger board, and use grippy wheels like ABEC 11 Flashbacks or Grippins, or Orangatang In Heats. and get paris trucks, I have Randalls and my friends all have Paris's and they're way better.

I do NOT like how inheat slide, unless your talking about making some useful slide through corner to cut some speed away, then the inheat will do, for free riding/ more technical slide, the inheat will not be a fun wheel.
skyking166 9 months ago
@skyking166 but what about the 4prez?
TheLongLamas 9 months ago
@TheLongLamas im not sure, about the 4prez, btw if you must go with inheat, get something harder than your usual hardness, because they have these circular cut out that makes them more flatten out and rebound... it just feels a bit softer than it is, at least me. Well what kind of longboarding you want to do? tech slide? bomb hill? all around?
skyking166 9 months ago
@skyking166 i'm planning on sliding, carving, etc... pretty much an all around setup.
TheLongLamas 9 months ago
@TheLongLamas
Extra note is that, inheats can slide but just kinda choppy, some people might like inheats but i dont
skyking166 9 months ago
@TheLongLamas wait, my fail, inheat only have 80 and 83a, so go with 83a if you want inheats
skyking166 9 months ago
questions, how do i knw if the wheels are for sliding or downhill?
amitlimbu 9 months ago
@amitlimbu best slide wheels are more for slides. so if you want a wheel with atleast a 80a-86a duro.
Mrkisrl24 9 months ago
i think pink bigzig and zigzag is 77a not 78a
Qaspwer 10 months ago
i disagree... some low duros slide like butter and more then any other wheel/... i think a lower duro gives a smooother slide and a more butery slide
homerman001 10 months ago
Hey Im tryiny to buy some new Abec11 Bigzigs 75mm Lime wheels

Myth7495 11 months ago
i'm stuck on wether i should get puple orangatangs or orange. i want good grip for carving but i also want something fast. any suggestions?
JackAssBrotherss 11 months ago
@JackAssBrotherss Purple are awesome, but cone a little bit easier than the orange. Purple's are fast and a little slidier than the orange. I usually ride my DH board with both (Purple in front for speed, Orange, so I don't slip out from the back)

GinkGoBoards 11 months ago
let me ask, I am aware of the flywheels and the largest size available, i bought a set about 6 months ago, are these the tallest wheels made?, mind you my board does not hinder the heigth of my wheels at all, perhaps also you can tell me which one is the widest wheel as well

i wanna get a killswitch soo badly i was thinkin killswitch randal 42 basepl8 and 180 hanger
then i was thinkin either abec 11 strikers 81 a or 84 (howd they slide) or otanf in heats orange or purps im mainly gonna get this 4 downhill soooo ye can anyone help btw paris or randal
MATandBENgetLOADED 11 months ago
@MATandBENgetLOADED As for the wheels, 80a In Heats or 4prez are perfect for freeriding! As for the trucks, You could combine a Paris hangar with a Randal 42* BP. Super turny, but AWESOME stability. AKA "Prandals"
