The best thing lost ever did. totally keeps the mysterious vibe of the first 2 seasons. In my humble opinion. Love the music, gives me chills like Unsol
@TheKevo5000 The LOST people were all too young--or not even born yet--when this aired on TV during the 1981 season. This just one episode of that series, from the summer reruns (because at the end, they say it's updated from the last time they showed it) and that's when I saw it first. The funny thing is that the LOST people must've found this in the archives and from this 1-hour show they made a 6 season miniseries!
@MrJuno6 This is not a satire. Its an "extra" in season 5 of the LOST complete series collection. I came here to see if it was actually a real show or something to LOST people cooked up. It looks like the latter is truth.
@melodramatic7904 I watched this show when it origianally aired during the 1981 season. This video was from the summer re-runs, because at the end, they say that it was updated from the last time they showed it. I remember the date because it says that "Matt Houston" is an upcoming series, and IMdb.com says that was from 1982.
What they "cooked up" was an entire 6 seasons--just based on one 1-hour documentary!
@MrJuno6 That's because it isn't a satire and it wasn't meant to be funny, and because it IS supposed to be the truth. This is just one episode of the 1981 season "Mysteries of the Universe" and it was meant to be just that--mysteries.
When I first saw this in the LOST season 5 extras, I thought, "What is THIS doing in here?" and then as I watched it again, for the first time since it originally aired, I had to laugh because then I realized why LOST seemed so familiar. They copied this!
I love every minute of this! It looks exactly like the 1970s, 1980s TV series "In Search Of..." hosted by Leonard Nimoy and perfectly duplicated the film look, threatening narration and music.

Oh my god. Only a show like LOST.
If this was on TV, I'd stop everything to watch this.
And it seems like he was talking about the Observers in the beginning.

Satire Fail. Its far to close to the truth to be funny.
