i guess the twins joined the army because it is compulsory in Israel, it's even specified in Promises...

I would not like to think (at least completely) that they've been brainwashed,but they had to adapt to the situation in their country and take it as easy as possible

It's Israeli law that Yarko and Daniel join the army. It's that, prison, or becoming an Orthodox really. They don't have much of a choice in the matter. And Yarko seems very reasonable about being in the army...

@valemychem You have to understand. Its a law in their country that you must serve in the army for like 2 years. They didn't want to do it and you could tell by how they talked about it. They are not that brain washed, they are probably really upset with it. If they left, they'd have no where to go I think

@ThatIndianGuy7116 I believe military service is compulsory– either that or jail time. But I disagree that you'd have to be brainwashed to protect your country even if it was a sad decision. I mean it's not like he can pretend terrorism doesn't exist, or that it hasn't effected loved ones. Or that he hasn't depended on other people to protect him as he was growing up. It is nonetheless very sad.
