  • LOve song video sucks! Needs buffering!

  • so freaking groovy

  • Vive le Québec libre!!

  • this was the bride and groom first dance song at my cousins' wedding, so beautiful =)

  • Ray Lamontagne

    Live>Abum

  • thumbs up if this makes you feel whole and complete. and really wanting somebody who will tell you that your the best thing.

  • I thought this was song was sung by a black man from the 60s before I saw videos lol

  • Ray is the best thing.

  • Im sorry but the middle singer is hot as hell! Actually im not sorry

  • If only the world could get a taste of the beauty in the music...one love everyone!

  • drummer's holdin it down

  • I love this man and his beautiful voice.

  • I love you!!!!!!!!!!¡

  • Who the hell would dislike this? - I am genuinely intrigued at your reasoning? Not a fan of the beard?

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • lyrics are wrong, it's our hearts are strong and our hearts are kind..

  • @86STUDio It's his lyrics he can do whatever he wants with them.

  • Biona, you are the best thing that ever happened to me!

  • God I love him. His voice is incredible, seen him live many times and uu can never fault him <3

  • I really love this song!it makes me cry....when I listen this song,I feel life is not so bad!!!

  • I actually like this song, but am I the only one who thinks that Ray's manic guitar strumming is quite unnecessary and even takes away from the song a bit? He should slow it down a bit. Wouldn't hurt the song at all.

  • @maulerXX he is just feeling it......like all musicians.....if it runs through you let it run. It's all good!!

  • if he would hve been born in the 70's he would be a legend now but people dont know what real music is anymore...never the less he is awsome!!

  • @Jalahl He was born in the 70s. Assuming you meant, if he were performing in the 70s he'd be a legend now...to which I completely agree.

  • @Jalahl I agree that his music is awesome, and a lot of people like crap music nowadays. However he was actually born in the 70s, 1973 to be exact. Maybe you mean if he was popular in the 70s?

  • @Jalahl i think the pop culture is turning around, we are entering a new area in music history i can feel it in the soul

  • @Jalahl i agree that he is amazing, but you do have to take into account that he'd probably be writing completely different songs if he was performing in the 70s, seeing as how most of his influences were probably from around that time.

  • @Jalahl He was born in 1973. I think you meant if he had been making music in the seventies...

  • such a beautiful song!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have the BEST voice! I have purchased all your albums.... You are the BEST thing :O)

  • when he says "baby" i can't help but smile =)

  • I'm sorry, his BGV singer on the left is hot as hell. Actually, I'm not sorry.

  • a 70's classic that arrived 40 years late, thanks to Ray for making sure we got it

  • Love this song! me and my husband had this as our first dance song at our wedding!!!

  • yes, i am the best thing.

  • I've always been a proud Mainer. He makes me even prouder!

  • Sounds too Joe Cockery too me.

  • Thumbs up if Kirstie sent you :)

  • This performance drags, and they can't seem to decide on a tempo. The recording is fabulous, but this live rendition is messy.

  • I HEARD this song before I saw wo sang it. I totally thought it was some unreleased Sam Cooke or somebody. I was in the store thinking, "I have to download that Donny Hathaway when I get home!" LOL

  • Absolutely love all his stuff xxx

  • @FreckledBeauti Yeah, true true. I gave up on radio a while back. A wasteland. Great that technology can hook us up on searches though. I do like Pandora and satellite radio and all the other things that give us that "if you like that you'll like this" service. Youtube has been a boon, even with the new restrictions. Artists flying under the radar can get to the people who want to hear them.

  • Jesus that brass blows my mind.

  • kept trying to find this song and realized I was looking for a black guy. Bearded men rock!

  • Great song.

  • Epic song

  • Man I love this guy....he is GOOD.

  • Oh! I forgot how much I loved this song

  • Amazing!

  • we're playing this song for our school's talent show. we are trying to get a full band together. i'm soooo excited!!!

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • pure class <3

  • Sounds a little like Joe Cocker, to me. That's always a good thing.

  • I love this song! This is one of my favorites!

  • looking at him you would never think that voice came out of that body

  • sound ive been lookin for

  • a singer and songwriter with so much soul and rawness since artists like Cat Stevens , Joe Cocker, Leon Russell and my list can go on forever. Ray LaMontagne is a soulful and talented gifted singer songwriter who gives you the feeling that Soul Music needs no Color barrier . Soul is from the heart and inside ya like a simple beat of your heart or true emotions and passion. This man is talented and gifted.

  • first dance on my wedding can be perfect only with this song!

  • you are awesome.... voice, lyrics, music...

  • Ray is the White Otis Redding!!

  • I love it! What a great voice and songwriter!!

  • I love this sonng, im a black 26 year old female! ppl r shocked tht i lik this kind of music!:) love it!

  • 1:18 in and i favourited. very well done

  • MAN! I swear his performances are so emotionally charged...ive been listening to Ray for 2 years now and his voice STILL gives me chills. Has to be one of the best voices I've ever heard

  • And on top of the list for suggested videos, THE BEST EXPERIENCE FOR LOWER ABS: Part 1 of 5, UTube has become addicted to loading shit videos for profit, or should i say Google has? Any of you want a good workout for abs starting with part 1? I'd rather stay flabby and keep hearing quality music.

  • He reminds of me of Joe Cocker, great voice!!

  • I heard this in the mall and thought it was a black dude...the ultimate compliment for a white singer

  • "You are the best thing

    ever happened to me..."

Mi Princesa... No me canso de repetirtelo... Sos lo mejor que me pudo haber pasado en la vida...

Espero que al escuchar esta cancioncita se te escape una sonrisa, y te acuerdes de mi...

    Te Amo Tiffany!!!

  • My girfriend said check this guy out. I was like if he's not good you getting it!!! Well!!! she got me. Good call princess

  • ilove it <3

  • I have been recently introduced to Ray Lamontagne's music and I just feel so overwhelmed by his music it is truly a privilege to be a fan.

  • Since when did Eddie Izzard play drums for Ray?!

  • i get shocked everytime i first hear his voice! takes me a moment to understand...

  • Amazing.....

  • He reminds me of Van Morrison

  • @espilehiyo Exactly, I was just thinking that today!

  • He is playing Dublin in march,, cannot wait!!!!

  • I love how his whole body seems to be into the music coming from his soul

  • tALK ABOUT KILLING IT.

  • I prefer the album version. It's a little faster and cleaner, especially the vocals - his falsetto comes through clearer and less raspy. This is good though, better than most other stuff out there.

  • Soul Music, in it's rawest form. Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, and so many others would be proud.

  • @bostownmassive The gods of soul! Ray makes you glad to be around now doesn't he?

  • Oh, how I love this man! LOVE his voice, love his music! I had the fabulous privilege of seeing him in concert recently--simply amazing!

  • This is the song my fiancé and I are dancing to for our first dance :) It's so beautiful and really conveys the way I feel about my love..*sighs*

  • I really really really like this song. Love the words. Very good song for you two.

  • the white boy's got soul.

  • Much prefer to see Ray without those awful backup singers... He really went the right direction with the new album.

  • @RonanOShea we must not be hearing the same backup singers

  • @spoogealicious This is what happens when a record company goes and over-produces a wonderful piece of music. This is how it should have been (not that it would have landed him on late night TV) THIS has SOUL: youtube.com/watch?v=hmKKN0tgQYE&feature=related

  • When I hear someone say music sucks today I'll tell them they are not listening to the right music. With guys like Ray out there making music there is no excuse for not listening to good stuff.

  • @blakedawg76 brilliant...this is what music is...no pop, no rock...rhythm and blues....I've had the pleasure of seeing him and living next door to him in Maine....a wondrous talent

  • @BareNakedBather Yeah, I agree. Next door? Very cool. I've seen him live, but that close up. :-)

  • @blakedawg76 I completely agree. RAY LAMONTAGNE IS AMAZING!

  • omg..... this is the first day i found out about this guy and he is amazing...! LOVE HIM

  • this man is truly an inspiration, 2nd to van morrison. Just knowing that he started off shy, but working hard towards something he really loves makes you want to lose the timidness and get on up

  • Ray makes me want to be a better musician.

  • i love this song is beautiful specially if youre in love

  • Thank god there are still real Musicians out there,

    making real Music.

    ...from the Heart & Soul.

    Diggit. [l8{i}

  • Ray, from The Netherlands...you are the best thing, baby!!!

  • Awesome song and feel! If you dig Ray, please check out Layden Robinson! Love the white Soul! Cheers.

  • i love him so. much. !

  • Beautiful song, this shows that talent can come from anyone and skin color nor race, or even gender matters!

  • utterly brilliant, love the songs, the voice, the rawness, this just sends shivers through the body everytime. its my song for my missus

  • :D he is just.....:D

  • bass makes a song...

  • love this guy

  • Cherie.....YOU ARE...:)))

  • The bassist could calm down a bit, but everything about this song is incredible!

  • Ray..u r the best thing!! :)

  • i Love the bass line <3

  • Flavorings of Joe Cocker. Great talent. Incredible voice.

  • Flavorings of Joe Cocker. Great talent. Incredible voice.

  • wow, this guy is awesome live!

  • you know, I hope and I pray that you believe me

When I say this love will never fade away

  • His voice sounds like sittin on a porch next to the Mississippi River on a late summer night.

  • for my special FB friends...

  • Sung from the heart, uttered from lips, felt from the depths of the soul. I hope someday to have someone beside me to sing this song, albeit with half the talent he has.

  • Listen to Ambrosia's "That's How Much." Is this a clever disguise? It's good, though. I wish this music was on the radio, rather than the current tripe.

  • this is an authentic shot of soul- I can't believe this wasn't recorded in the late 60's or early 70's

  • 'the Lennon of today" in what way, I'm a huge John Lennon fan and I don't see that, I was thinking more Joe Cocker, voice wise on this song anyway.

  • I've been singing this song all day. I love his sound & I will have to buy his CD. Wish I had caught this performance on Letterman.

  • The LENNON of today. Witness the miracle people.....=)

  • RL ftw!!!!!

  • his voice is so easy to listen to...he's great

  • love love love this song... heard it on my local alternate radio statiion

  • love this song !!!!

  • wow great Song,

  • He is so refreshing, I love him so much

  • Wow, can't believe I didn't listen to his album before! It's an absolute pleasure

  • one of the best in the world right now...love ya Ray.

  • What show was this on? Conan?

  • looks like Letterman

  • Definitely Letterman.

  • This guy's music is amazing. The first time I heard this song, it became my favorite. I could listen to his music all day.

  • I <3 <3.

  • great music

  • idk much about this person but i absolutely love this song and his voice on it!!!

  • I think he is extremely talented! I think he sounds a bit like Van Morrison...But seriously...he sounds like Ray!

  • No one called him James Morrison. Everyone called him Jim, except for his wives friend, who called him Jimmy. And yeah, Jim Morrison was amazing. He couldn't fluctuate his voice very well, but he had a lot of character, and his lyrics were top. Also, you can tell in his voice that he really has feeling when he sings.

  • Your getting mixed up between Jim Morrison of the Doors, with a UK singer called James Morrison, who sounds rather like Ray Lamontagne, but not half as good.

  • @gazzlew24 ohhh....damn, i look stupid now

  • this reminds me alot of clapton.

  • why is that..?

  • I don't know, just the bluesy, dark yet light feeling that this has.

  • There is proof that this is what Jesus sang like!

  • it's one thing to listen to this song and look at pictures but quite another to see him performing. love this song. wow!!!! beautiful.

  • love this ssooongggggg <3

  • i love him to no end! his voice is like a cross between george harrison, otis redding, and jesus.

  • wow....

  • this man is all heart.. love it!!

  • holy fuckin shit man! Ray nailed it here!

  • I love his raw voice!!!

  • AWESOME POSSUM SONG!! I bet any instrument cover of this would sound really great

  • scruff never looked soooo good...... ::sigh::

  • soul man you got it

  • love this song! my children and I dance to it in the kitchen while making breakfast. :)

  • @hislittlelambs that's lovely, thanks for sharing the image!

  • Best thing about this guy: A) His voice B) His songs C) specifically, he's not afraid of having silence in his music.

  • @XCallXMeXmatt You got it!

  • Actually it was a log cabin in Lewiston Maine, without running water or electricity. Now he lives on a farm formerly owned by the artist Norman Mailer, also in Lewiston Maine, so I assume its a nice home.

  • This guy was literally living in a box and working for a shoe factory until he was discovered

  • Man I've never seen anyone wail an acoustic like that.

  • I love Ray's music, especially his slow songs but this is so great, it reminds me of Van Morrison alot, which is some compliment!

  • husky voice kinda reminds me of a young joe cocker

  • Ray is so magical!

  • That's Amanda Homi, Niki Richards & Catherine Russell on background Vocals!

  • fantastic

  • What a great voice!!!

  • great song by a great artist!
