If you ever have seen John Perkins and his "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man"
and you choose to believe it (like me) where he actually talks about a lot of honest politicians who tried to improve the lives of people they were elected by getting assassinated in the Name of U.S. economic interests, you actually have to have a great sense of cynical humor to be able to watch this and still like the people involved and their self proclaimed "U.S. = we are justice" attitude.
Bill Maher is a two-faced hypocrite. He first says madrasahs are terrorist prep schools and now all he does is kiss the ass of Barack Hussein Obama who himself went to a madrasah. Typical liberal douche.
I don't think he should be put on trial for being a traitor as much a I think he should be put on trial for being an American who's joining a "less than honorable" group that has been quite well documented as infringing on the basic human rights of the Afghan people. We have to take into account the well-fare of the Afghan people and by joining a group that was fighting American forces he endangered the lives of the Afghan people.(whether the U.S. was justified in its actions is irrelevant).
The Taliban are not terrorists. They might be evil, but not anyone who wages war against the USA is a terrorist. And not every American that joins an enemy country is a traiter. He switched countries and that's that. You have the new Black Panthers that don't really like America. Should they be considered traitors?
the actress calls the Taliban an "army"--this is factually incorrect, and may represent the early nature of this video, but it seems to be a stupid statement, revealing that she has no place on such a panel. Seth Green comes out very well in this discussion. I notice that they are unable to distinguish between alQaeda and the Taliban. I can't defend Taliban but they are a legit cultural movement of AF, and they wiped out warlordism and Opium trade pre-2002
the pipeline had been intended to build since 95 but the work has been stalled because U.S overthrew the government and the southern territory continues being under de facto taliban control
(im not saying this is conspiracy, just noting that there is interest building pipeline)
My point is that there is no age for perfection. And forget imperfection: there is no age for wisdom and understanding either. When adults can perpetrate the most heinous crimes then is a 20 year old gone astray so shocking?
To be responsible you have to be wise enough to know when you are right and when you are wrong. Sometimes, you are in grey areas and you don't know what to do. Sometimes, you are afraid to do theright thing. Sometimes you want to do the wrong thing because you ARE EVIL.
Sometimes you are dumb even at 20. So how do we treat wrong-doers? Well, we group those that do wrong because they know they are wrong with those who are foolish or cowardly. Ultimately, we are punishing people for being non-ideal. Is that right? Do you punish a person who is ill? No, you don't. But we punish imperfect people.
Stupid people! The Taliban were not an enemy of America, Alqaeda was! The Taliban told Bush we will give you Bin Laden if you provide us with proof Bin Laden was involve in 911 and they did not provide those proof. They invaded the country instead. And now we know the FBI says have no evidence linking Bin Laden to 911 because they said so. So why did they invade. To construction of a pipeline something the Taliban didn't want.
Yes, I have read the exact same thing. The FBI has said themselves they had no evidence for extradition. Al Qaeda and the Taliban were unfriendly up until we illegally bombed the Sudanese medicine plant, and afghan bases which killed civilians.
It wasn't that the Taliban and Al Qaeda were friends. They were both in the same country and the Taliban knew it. There was no secret pipeline deal in the works, let's stick to the FACTS.
Which means any 9/11 truthers out there should get a life. FBI has never said there was no link to Bin Laden.
Anyway, Al Qaeda WAS in Afghanistan and the Taliban were in charge, even though they had no real relation. Bush decided to go wherever they were and thats where they were. Case closed.
Laughable arguments, and you have no proof. Another 9/11 conspiracy nutjob with too much free time. You losers have 0 evidence and all your silly claims have been debunked several times over.
Yes, the Taliban are terrorists. The U.S. didn't directly fund the Taliban, so get your facts straight. The U.S., like ALL Afghans, wanted the Soviets out, so money was pumped into Afghanistan. Second, they took over from warlord rule in '96, you dolt. Learn about it before you make pathetic arguments
Okay, Osama bin Laden is wanted in IN CONNECTION WITH THE AUGUST 7, 1998, BOMBINGS OF THE UNITED STATES EMBASSIES IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, AND NAIROBI, KENYA.(src: FBI)
where does it say 9/11 NYC?
pathetic arguments, umm that's right.
How about you learn to read next time you try to post something
taliban: ""the United States has been part and parcel to supporting
the Taliban" (src: HEARING BEFORE THE COMMITTEE ON INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Where does it say 9/11 NYC from some misinformed conspiracy theorist trying to be smart on YouTube comments? Well, nowhere. Go watch "Loose Change" with the other simpletons, you'll feel better. Spare us your ramblings and do some real research before you want to try to look smart on the Internet. Good luck!
As for the Taliban, I repeat what I wrote last time. Learn to read carefully. Your definition doesn't discredit mine.
Law? The common law system is the best in the world, based on precendent and allows for interpretation (this can be good and bad as law is influenced by culture). Religion? I agree here. America should be more secular. Politics? Yes, we are too conservative, as a liberal I agree. Still, Europeans that talk shit on america are usually elitists who think that european culture is infinitely better.

To Seth Green: There is a difference between being deemed responsible and being responsible.

Seth Green is saying that people should be responsible by 20. So why did the guy do it?
1. Because it was the right thing to do?
2. Because he was crazy?
3. Because people may not be able to tell right from wrong even at 20 years of age?
4. Because he was evil?
If the first three are true then you can't prosecute the man.
If the 4th is true then did they prove it?
Jasonstarwalker 2 years ago
If you prosecute a man for the first three reasons you are saying that we punish imperfect people for not being ideal/perfect huamn beings.
