  • This video might help me. thank you very much for ur help

  • I'm sorry but too much info and not enough directions on how to actually fix it. just saying...

  • I get this pain from playing video games. It hurts like hell sometimes.

  • What i have done now is i don't go on it during school days as by the way i am only 13 years old. So i don't go on it for 5 days but then i go on it a lot for the two days. I will try this and hopefully it will work but should i stop it completey or can i go on it the two days. Please could you respond to this, i would apperciant it. Thank You very much. And how many times a day should i try this and do you try to strenghten my thumb straight after i massure it.

  • @99joey1 How much or how often depends on what your condition is. If you are having thumb pain, then several times a day is good - especially massaging it. If you only have thumb pain when you push on the thumb, even you need only massage once a day until that tenderness goes away. If the tenderness when you push on the base of the thumb comes back, then you can massage it again.

No, it is best to rest the thumb after the massage if you can. Strenghten when the pain has gone away.

  • @DiscomfortFree Kk thanks for that but one thing that i am worryed about is that with my thumb, even when i just leave it and don't touch anything it does not hurt but it feels like i have pins and neddles in my thumb as i keep geting a tingling feeling in my thumb. What does this mean and is it bad and it also feels like it is stiff. This scares me as i get in even when i don't touch anything but it doesn't really hurt it just feels stiff.

  • @99joey1 There are a couple possible causes. One is tight scalene muscles. I have a video on that called "Numb Fingers from Tight Scalene Muscles - Part 1" so I look at that. Another possibility is tight forearm muscles. Press firmly on the thumb side of your forearm. Go the entire way from the wrist to the elbow. See if there are very tender spots. Check a muscle on the palm side of the forearm about 2 inches from elbow crease called pronator teres. (google it)

    Massage firmly if tender

  • @DiscomfortFree kk thanks but i don't know but every time i move my thumb it makes a clicking sound, is this really bad, can it be cured

  • @99joey1 I do not know because I am a massage therapist and only deal with muscle problems. So I would hate to take a guess. Sorry I can't be of help.

  • @DiscomfortFree oh kk thanks any way i appreciatiate the help that you have already given me so thank you

  • @99joey1 You're welcome.

  • Thanks for this i will try it and i hope it will work. But when u said vidoe games do u need to stop it completely or can u go on it just not a lot and takes breaks from it.

  • @99joey1 Use this method and if it works, keep using it once a while to prevent flare ups. How often? Depends on how much yor are gaming.

  • what about for guitar player who grips a lot - for chord melody the hand is gripping and holding chords, while certain notes play (melody). My thumb area is tight, sore spots in my forearms and bicep area as well. sore along the thumb line as well. I took weeks off and it still was bothersome. any suggestions would be appreciated as I can't really stop playing for very long as a musician. thanks

  • @wkriski Your forearm muscles are responsible for most of your finger movement as well as part of the thumb movement. Rest of thumb movement is in the thumb as in the above video. You need to loosen those muscles. Time off won't help much. Self-massage using your other elbow (not the pointy part) with your affected arm on a padded surface. Work on the hand and the entire forearm - wrist to elbow. See my site.
