Keep it on thischannel! As a side note I wish people understood how much harder independant shops / mechanics have to work, no parts department across the hall, SST's for several MFG's, ordering parts, etc. Dealerships don't care about the customers, and want to sell high priced maintence packages which are lucrative to dealerships. Independant shops windup with much more heavy line work (engines/transmissions) and tight budgets. The mechanics work harder, for less money and little benefits
@PUREAAMERICAN Sorry to rant, but I am tired of people constantly berating mechanics as a whole. While there are many bad mechanics there are also many good ones. And for the people who besmirch mechanics and think the work is easy, they are sadly mistaken. First you need an ever increasing assortment of tools including diagnostic scanners, then you need the ability to make an accurate diagnostic assesment, then you need to be physically able to work on cars all day.

hey Eric i dont know if you know much about shocks but you probably do. I have a 1999 GMC sierra 4x4 with a 3in lift and big tires on it with a v8 5.3L engine. Would Rancho RS5000 high performance shocks be a good match for my truck ? please reply your alot of help. Thanks man

In FATR episode 1 you specifically mentioned that the FATR could be a weekly wrap up, interesting things that are happening in the automotive world, etc. You've shown that by introducing us to new automotive related youtube channels etc in addition to youtube clips. It's exactly what you said it could be.
We all change and when I am told I am different from the past that is a compliment not an insult.
A little disappointed in your response to criticism. Criticism is good not bad and comes with the territory so you need to learn to use it to improve. You response should have been different. So many people don't know how to accept criticism and react wrongly.
Eric, just another word from a member of the mostly silent majority. We wait each week for your repair videos, and now that we know you, we never miss them. We are all car guys too. You deserve your own cable tv show man! I would love to see you on Speed, or even PBS. So many shows out there is all about overhauling some clunker into some show car, with little educational useful information throw in. Or you see a lot of shows where the project has unlimited budget, and is really nothing more then advertisement for that weeks sponsors, again not much useful how too stuff is shown. In my opinion you would be a fresh face, useful repair how too for everyday working person.

The only thing I can think of when I hear the "I miss the old ETCG" comments is that those people now see you as a true professional mechanic. Maybe they find it harder to relate to you. When you were back at the old shop it was clear that you had a harder time with things and maybe your average joe sees an old video and thinks "hmmm this guy can do it in a less than idea situation, maybe I can to." That is truly the only thing I can think of. Btw, Haters gonna Hate. Don't let them get to you.

But i have to say, you are posting repair videos, but its not up to the caliber that you used to have. Brake switches, calipers, and breaks are good and all, but those are the easy stuff. I like axle replacements, steering racks, timing belts/water pumps, headgaskets, etc.
And as for the FATR, its a talk show, not repair (except for the 2 tips), it belongs on ETCG1

Yeah, Eric, I saw one of those comments that got a lot of thumbs up as a top comment complaining, saying you did too many ETCG1s and FATRs and I just thought man, he does a repair vid every Monday! Went back and watched all the FATR's. They've steadily improved since the first one. Also in the episode 1 you did name all the days which I didn't know. You title the FATR's but you don't title the others, maybe that's where the disconnect comes from. Good for you for sticking to your guns. As a person you have grown, matured, and improved your videography for sure. Only real difference recently is location and so what about that it's just a different place. Same Eric goodness.

The only thing I can think of when I hear the "I miss the old ETCG" comments is that those people now see you as a true professional mechanic. Maybe they find it harder to relate to you. When you were back at the old shop it was clear that you had a harder time with things and maybe your average joe sees an old video and thinks "hmmm this guy can do it in a less than idea situation, maybe I can to." That is truly the only thing I can think of. Btw, Haters gonna Hate. Don't let them get to you.

Hi Eric, I wouldn't change a thing. Normally I loathe going to YT but this is one of the very few channels where I walk away learning a little more and entertained at the same time. Keep up the great work you do. I have a request, could you do a video on buying a used car and the inspection you need to make to insure it is mechanically sound. im honored eric, it felt as though you were speaking to me.
But i have to say, you are posting repair videos, but its not up to the caliber that you used to have. Brake switches, calipers, and breaks are good and all, but those are the easy stuff. I like axle replacements, steering racks, timing belts/water pumps, headgaskets, etc.
And as for the FATR, its a talk show, not repair (except for the 2 tips), it belongs on ETCG1

Yeah, Eric, I saw one of those comments that got a lot of thumbs up as a top comment complaining, saying you did too many ETCG1s and FATRs and I just thought man, he does a repair vid every Monday! And ETCG1s are maybe twice a month. I would've flamed em but I don't feed trolls. =) You do a lot of good work and help a lot of people and owe those guys nothing; it's the other way around. Just some nasty people trying to take advantage of a nice guy.

I've watched your videos since the beginning and i have to say you have "grown" a lot. You always look to future. There is some many people out there that live in the past, not seeing the future. Let people say what they will. What they're probably blind to is seeing that you're doing what you can, as you said in the FATR, by helping common citizens who are trying to save a buck here and there by keeping them and us on the road with running vehicles. Well, I felt like a scolded child with this video =) ... I watched all the videos of EricTheCarGuy and I see him as always in all videos, and I had suscribed to its channel becasue for a video about compression test, and many, many other videos that help me to save money.

Eric, the bottom line is you help people out. You spend your time and make repair vids for everyone out there, and most of them are FREE!!! People are just flat out ungrateful for what you do for them, so I say, keep doing what your doing, as every video you put out is informative, and I learn from every video you post.

Went back and watched all the FATR's. They've steadily improved since the first one. Also in the episode 1 you did name all the days which I didn't know. You title the FATR's but you don't title the others, maybe that's where the disconnect comes from. Good for you for sticking to your guns. As a person you have grown, matured, and improved your videography for sure. Only real difference recently is location and so what about that it's just a different place. Same Eric goodness.
