What a beautiful record - must be a treasure to own, and great music! Thanks for posting and sharing all the info on Shep Fields. I grew up with my grandfather playing 78s, and have great memories of Shep Fields' orchestra, among other great bands of his day.
That music is so good. I really like reading the detailed information you post with your videos. You know your stuff thats for sure. I also see that you have an Orthophonic Credenza. I would like to have one but they are so rare here in Wisconsin and when they do surface they tend to be more pricey than my budget allows. I content myself with my single Victor VV-V1 machine. Gary
Thank you Gary! I love adding information where I can. I don't have have a Credenza. That one is a Arryola Superphonic Cremona from the early 1920's. It does look similar though, and I love the sound of it.
No, I wouldn't want to do that with these records. I did make the mistake of doing that with one last year though. I'll only play music from the 1900's to the early 30's on my victrola's now. :-)
Lloyd, I was never a fan of Shep Fields, But I LOVE This one! He has a much better sound in this. I have a couple of his Bluebird records and thought it sounded more like Shep Fields DROWNING Rhythm. Thank You For Sharing & Changing My mind about Ol` Shep.
