I know that I may have sounded harsh, like a know-it-all English snob, but it's just a pet peeve of mine. It's one thing to speak casually on an Internet chat forum but students actually write papers using this language now, confusing forms, tenses, and other parts of speech. This is a losing battle anyway though, I know. Comments on an Internet forum won't change anything. But I do know that the people that know how to speak and write get the good jobs.
