They use the crude BMI system, it varies greatly. I mean I had to drop like 20 pounds and I literally couldn't drop anymore without falling below a safe weight. It is kind of ridiculous.

If you have a larger frame and more muscle, you will weigh a fuck ton more. Just be glad you don't look like him and the fact he was able to get in, probably means he doesn't have much muscle mass. You will feel a lot better than him when you meet the pull ups bar.

Non is typically a term used for someone that is non-flight line, non-aircraft maintenance and in your case the additional non of NON-Air Force. If you do go Air Force I would recommend avoiding BMT. Judging by the grammar of your response, you lack the attention to detail required to avoid being recycled to 'Zero Week' multiple times.

Do not get your hair cut ahead of time. They will make you a "project" and you will have a miserable eight weeks. I saw it happen. These guys are not the only people who have attitude during the in processing. The clothing issue troops are much worse. They are rejects from other squadrons that have "doesn't play well with others" stamped on their foreheads.

@1a121a14 actually thats their real job. not as a reject. when i was in BMT I got stuck in the 319th so when i came back i was ahead of my new flight so I got to march a rainbow flight to get haircuts and clothing issued. I actually got to chill with them and some of the TI's they are pretty cool once you have either been there a while or are passed BMT standards.

I don't understand why Marines always post comments scoffing this vid. AF recruits don't have to learn by the infantryman perspective like in the Army or Marines, so why even pretend they have to? They learn by the aircrew perspective, that's why it's different.

@dustylefou True, but In the Air Force its aircraft maintenance that makes the world go round. The vast majority of enlisteds are aircraft maintainers. The main of what the AF teaches in BMT is the kind of nit pick attention to detail required of that job. Recruits are required to spend hours folding t shirts into perfect six inch squares. Most of that time is spent adjusting the edges with a pair of tweezers. If it isn't perfect, and it never is, it gets tossed by the MTI's.
