Nail hit on head. Where a young DJ of 20 years ago spent 8 hours a day on decks. A young DJ of today spends the same amount of time experimenting without the physical drawbacks of only 2 decks. The question is, when will we see a one person manipulate 2 or 3 synced traktor programs?
Is this where Traktor S4 is heading and Serato Bridge?
@VVooDz two or three traktors would work ok but you can already play as many tracks as you want simultaneously in ableton live. allso you have the flexibility of being able to use any vst effect you want with limitless routing options
@ctrlaltdelmaster Interesting that you mention ableton 11 months after I made this comment that was already a year after this video was posted. In that time we have probably the first proof of what Hawtin was talking about with MADEON's 'pop culture' mashup in his video.. And yes he is also doing this live in clubs too.
@ctrlaltdelmaster. Absolutely, Traktor has to have been one of the best purchases I made. I do find some so called DJ's telling me "yeah... well the computer is doing all the work." to which I reply "Not when you're mixing two 70's tracks, because it can't auto sync the beats." But I do think Ableton is a lot closer to what Hawtin is talking about in this video.

accept it haters ... software is the future - it enables djs to become more creative. im a dj who has come to terms with this after using vinyl!
