  • Any chord can be a 'drop' chord.

  • So "drop 2" and "2nd inversion" are synonyms?

  • so when they say drop 2 it means just dropping the 2nd highest note in any particular inversion 1 whole octave? So if he was playing a C7 without an inversion it would be written C,E,G,Bb and the G would be the drop 2? and if it was the first inversion and it was written E,G,Bb,C the Bb would be the drop 2? Thats how I understood it is this right? and Drop 2 does not change the chord itself right, its just a different voicing for it? Thanks!!!!!

  • Hey, i can't figure out how this would potentially work with chord extensions beyond the seventh. Anyone know???

  • @skrbeleven well it is possible. It is called ''tweaking'' those drop 2 chords. I recommend drop 2 by mark levine he can explain it much better than me xD

  • thanks!

  • I agree Rick is a great teacher. Does anybody know this video's title ?

  • It's part of guitar chords 101 on line course...

  • Had a class with Rick almost 20 years ago at Berklee. One of the best instructors at the school, and a hell of a player as well!

  • i wish i would of had his class instead of the guy i had. maybe i wouldnt have left the school.
