Always got to be someone wanting to stop progress hasn't there?..
People sceptical of the entire world of scientific progress, as if it's some inherent evil, hell bent on destruction.
Modern Health Care, Heart Surgery, Aeroplanes. All evil.
No doubt these views belong to literal readers of Religious texts, George Orwell's "1984", and Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" (with a particularly negative slant).
Good luck Aubrey. You should get as much '''funding'' from the rich vain schmucks as you can. Prey upon their vanity and ego and fear of losing their privileged lifes. I don't blame you. If I could say as much bullshit as fast as you with as much confidence, I'd do it too.
@FeelOfFriction Not necessarily - think of the accomplishments that could be made if people's careers in areas like conservation could last longer, and there was less "rush" to procreate. I wouldn't worry though - de Grey's ideas rely on a lot of work which has yet to be completed in biogerontology.
Anyone who takes remote interest in this, and really anyone who refutes these ideas, should immediately look up Ray Kurzweil. This stuff of immortality is not so far-fetched as you may believe.
goatlord1970: wtf? does it even look stressed out?
he seems pretty confident and happy tp me. you fucking idiot. he might be the one who will stop or will reverse the aging process, and when he does you will regret those words.
If you want to support Aubrey and one of his projects called "Undergrads fighting age related disease" then go to " membersproject. com/project/view/BVVE2C " (take out the gaps)
till we find the universal immortality serum, or till we create one, we will have to use the powerfull serum that can extend between 50 and 300 years....

Cheat? the aging process... CHEAT?!?! Putting it that way is the equivalent to saying eating an apple to survive is cheating...

I can see the drugs companies rubbing their hands together at the thought of these drugs therapies. Does Aubrey know about evidence of the afterlife?

why would any1 wanna die?
lets say theres a big war in year 2739
huge deaths
you still wanna die? NO i would keep living
even if every1 i know dies, i would still want to live.
if u die u basically loose every1 and everything.
cpisretartedmuch 2 years ago
but sure i wanna live as long as possible
i wanna live till im over 1 million years or 10 billion

He wont live forever. He should enjoy life now and stop being in denial. He looks really stressed out.

He might.

It's stressful to propose something that most people are afraid of and don't let themselves think about.
I do hope he manages to hold his position and be happy at some point though.

Aging will be in the future like the medieval pests or slavery for the modern view: A bad dream from the past.
Aging is a correctable malcfunction... people will have to face it.
