@teacherofrockstars Nevermind. I found an affordable Schecter Damien Elite FR, with EMG 85/81, Floyd Rose tailpiece and nut, grover tuning pegs, and a Metallic Blue finish. Even though it still has a temolo unit (that's what FR stands for) the strings are tightened by the Grover pegs which means in some guitars, tremolos are NOT a problem.

Oh wait, I'm an intermediate. Well, that doesn't matter. They'll have to get used to those kinds of guitars anyway so beginners SHOULD at least get a 24 fret or an FR.

I would get a LP(Les paul), if you play Rock Hero( yes either game woks) then you know it already, they are inexpensive, and most of the time sound great. Although the Ibanez Artcore 100(I think) also are great, have more powerful pickups, and supposedly stay in tune longer...Although it is all about personal comfort, and opinion. also dont get anything in a package deal, they are lower quality

$60 to $6000. its all about quality, where its made, if it's a production model or custom, and what brandit is. for a beginner, a good range would be 100 to 200, then as a person progresses, you can go up. i started on a guitar that was 200, and i just got a guitar that is 700, my next one might be over 1000. i hoped i helped u out.

yes, generally ibanez makes quality guitars for the price. however, I'm not the biggest fan of ibanez, but if i was going to get a ibanez, id get the Steve Vai Sig 7. i haven't really looked into the RG5EX1, but from what I've read on the net, it is a solid guitar. i am not sure what to say because i don't know where you are at level wise, but id get it if it suited my playing and if i could work on it and not get frustrated. good luck with your finding and i hoped i helped you out in some way.
