  • ughhhh. was hoping to find this on Itunes.. no luck.. I love this song

  • amaizing song great voices no more songs like this one anymore masterpiece for ever

  • I have been trying to figure out who sang the song for more than 20 years. I heard it in Walgreens yesterday. lol.

  • Wow, this song never fails to move my soul, ... and as many people have already commented, this song brings back many memories of the 80s.

  • I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.

If you just take a minute and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on YouTube & Twitter. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.

  • <3

  • I listen to this song and think about the man I'm not over and also of my favourite brother, who died this past November 20th. It's a good song about the process of moving on and trying to engage with the world when you're still grieving.

  • I STILL LOVE YOU

  • I WAS IN REAL LOVE WHEN THIS CAME OUT

  • This song makes my all time favorite list. But I honestly thought that the other person singing the song with George Michael was a female, because of the lyrics and the voice. Until I saw the video. Still a nice song though.

  • I Love this song. Thanks for posting this silky love song. I miss these care-free days so fcking much..........

  • rap will be dead soon - lovers will want true love music like this - gangster shit is a fad like so much other bad music - the good music will return - remember disco was suppose to last forever - lol

  • the gods of love cant help me now -

  • sexy.

  • i have to agree on your every word odiemodie1 we all wish we could go back and change that very one and only thing i guess that is what dreams are for when you go to sleep just to go back and re live those magic days when live was soooo simple

  • SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when music was, well, music. LOL

  • @simmad0wnn0w...yes it was a crack epidemic & all the other stuff you have mention but how about the good times back then..i mean today really aint too much different were we had crack todays youth have herion, e-pills & GHB & the ecomony was messed up bck then too..and hey maybe i was sheltered alittle i would think we all were to some point but DAMN i was only thinking abt the good ole days when it was TRULY fun being young and looking forward to the adventures of life..LIGHTEN UP!

  • @shelia926 The point is, you were OVERLY idolizing a decade that, in your own words, is no different than today. I can't lighten up because I have a point to make, and that is the 80's was not this utopia that Youtube commenters like to purport. It just wasn't.

  • @simmad0wnn0w were u actually there? because the 80s were great, just like this song.

  • @knmlover Well, don't take my word for it, research it yourself. And yes, I was there. I lived on Irving St, In Washington D.C. from 83 to 88 and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. Graduated class of 88. Joe Gibbs was the Coach of the Wash. Redskins. John Riggins was the All-pro RB. Marion Barry was Mayor and Ronald Reagan was President. I could go on but like I said, if it was good to you then congrats. However, for a lot of poor and minorities, the 80's sucked ass.

  • @simmad0wnn0w I think a lot of us like to romanticize the 80s because we were young and didn't have a care in the world. It was a time of carefree youth for a lot of us, and though times were just as hard as any, it's good to look back on those years and reminisce.

  • The 80's had good music, but it was not this idealize time that people on Youtube would have you believe. Wiki crack epidemic, homelessness, AIDS, S&L crisis, cocaine use, contra hearings, gangsta rap, gang violence, list of recessions. The 80's and early 90's should come up quite often while reading the articles. Don't take my word for it, find out for yourselves.

IMHO the 80's actually sucked but the music was outstanding.

  • @simmad0wnn0w SPOKEN LIKE A TRUE IDIOT WHO WAS JUST BEING "BORN" IN OR AFTER THE 80s. I LIVED IT. I WAS THERE. NOTHING IS PERFECT. BUT, I CERTAINLY WOULD TRADE THIS JUNK SO-CALLED 21ST CENTURY NEW MILLENNIUM NONSENSE TO HAVE THE 80s and 90s BACK! TODAY SUCKS!!!! AND, THAT'S ON EVERYTHING! I KNOW.

  • @LPATWILLFILM I am glad the 80's was good to you. God bless.

  • @DJLoressa13..I look at todays students and wonder WTF?..I mean we didnt have the technology like they do we had our imagination, going outside and playing 123 greenlight or kiss catch run all they know is playstation or xbox. Do you remember pagers?? I remember making out to "Tears" by the Force MD's or Keith Sweat "How deep is your love" and I had a sound system in my Hyundai Excel too, those were truly the good old days...WHO SAID OLD?..LOL

  • Memories....

  • Great times back then....

  • I loved this song when I was 10 years old.

  • Wow. I agree with everyone here, this song can stay up to anything out now. And I remember my girlfriend broke up with me a few days before this song came out. Like us 80s kids did with all breakup songs, I would play this groove and think about her. The 80s were awesome. We had tons of great artist...who could actually play and sing!!!

  • @BoredInConnecticut NICE ... LOL

  • Oh to be young and care free again, cruz'in with he windows down and hanging with good friends at the AMC8 and Malibu! Be safe my fellow 80's kids!

  • This is a fantastic record- absolutely love it...

  • I remember making a video slideshow with collections of my now ex-lover's pictures having this song playing in the background, with heartfelt messages expressing how he meant so much to me and a very special place i reserved for him in my heart. Somehow things eventually ended exactly what this song means.... Dealing painfully with the breakup, unable to let go and move on.

  • This song ...what can one say. Sounds just as god today.

  • I simply love the song, love Deon & George was in high school in the 80's best time ever!. This song Heaven help Me was recorded over & over on a casette called the Heaven help me tape I played it constantly since I have gotten to know Deon pretty good, great man!

  • love this song..great memories..cant bring em back..damn..

  • Still LOVE this song!!!

  • This song makes me melt!

  • I've got this in my vinyl collection.

  • great song!

  • Gads... one of the so memorable High School Prom tunes that was played during the late 80's... too much rememberance of speical times, and of that one person who you thought you would spend the rest of your life with... crap it all... if only I could go back and done the right thing... better yet, if I really could, I'd go back to that one and only girl and don't ever return to this less appreciated times... the 80's were a more simple and more exciting times... someday... maybe... someday...

  • @odiemodie1 ohhhhhh you´re right so much - have same feelings about this and miss this time so much.........

  • @odiemodie1 Yes. The best era of my life. Nicest love songs all came out of the late 70's and 80's,

  • Man what a great song! reminds me of My first love....I would think about her every time I would hear this. Now I'm thinking about her again.....all these years later ; )

  • great lyrics with beautiful sound, a great song, heard it yesterday on XM's LOVE channel, instantly gave me more happy feelings

  • simply a classic to bad it's categorized as a one hit wonder and didn't get a lot of air play.To all those who were back in the age of the record.i still own this classic and it stills look mint condition

  • simply a classic to bad it's categorized as a one hit wonder and didn't get a lot of air play

  • i heard this when i was a kid (was a kid of the 80s and 90s)...all this time i thought it was only a george michael song. didn't think it was both him and his the bass player of wham!.... well you learn new things everyday and besides, this was good music...wish they make good stuff nowadays, all i hear is crap with a few good ones here and there =T but oh it's so rare :p

  • I was a child in the eighties and ninties and I never heard this song. Love the bass in it, though. Smooth.

  • @MrPSYloco It was one of those songs that late 80's - early 90's R&B (& pop) stations only played every now and then.

  • @adangme Where I lived, the stations played it all the time and according to Billboard the song went top 20 on both the R&B and POP charts in 1989.

  • I heard this on an elevator today.

  • i miss songs of the 80-90's they made sense to me not these cookie cutting songs they make now some dont even make sense to me i dont get some of them

  • I can't say that the 80-90 's was innocent, but the music was and is amazing, imaginative and creative.

  • this was me and my sis @quisala shit! played the single on cassette over and over!~

  • I cant even think of a good definition to describe how this song touches me...

  • I'd like to meet Tom Arnold

  • I wan to meet bill murray on the back of a golden kinghts jump operation at night and jump into chicago preacher bowl to sing nationa anthem and quote the bible then get a hotdog and do a photo shoot and then....pass out on a park bench being craddled by a good smellling homeless lady

  • this song reminds me of youth and sade and wanting a hot chicken. for hot chicken ja ja . HOW SMOOTH IS THIS SONG AND BASS LINE AND TRUMPET AND KEYS..AND like I'M Smoother than she is..I need an andrea fugundes.

  • this song reminds me of youth and sade and wanting a hot chicken. for hot chicken ja ja .

  • Great, underrated song, artist!

  • Man this song is gorgeous. Miss this style of music, oh God :'(

  • This song helped me through so much........

  • One of the great forgotten 80's best

  • @somewhatlongdong I agree- forgotten. But so beautiful!

  • This song takes me back to my first working job at Soucy's Market as a bagger. I think I was 15yrs. old. They played breezy "elevator" music in the grocery stores back in the day...lol

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!! Thanks for posting

  • i am 50 y.o. This is, hands down, one of the most sensuous, superbly written songs EVER.

  • ONE OF THE PRETTIEST SONGS EVER MADE!!!! TOTALLY UNDERRATED!!!!

  • 89 great year.................

  • OMG! I feel like I'm back in my senior year everytime I hear this.. Class of 89!

  • ditto

  • i was 19 when it came out...i thought it was THE song of my first serious relationship..my first real boyfriend...when i hear this song it takes me back to hyundai excels, polka dots, cross colors, neon socks..all that old school going to house parties and having fun..no guns, drive bys or gangs....it was a beautiful time to grow up and i wouldnt change it for anything...I MISS THE LATE 80's and early 90's before all that gansta BS..miss that innocence of the time..in with George Michael

  • @shelia926 I MISS them TOO!

  • @shelia926 Dear Sheila...I feel the same way about this song..."class of 1990" our group is very close and stable; not like today where kids are texting bad things, bullies etc....yes...I remember cruising the strip with my polka dots and nissan sentra w/alpine stereos and 12 inch speakers behind making out to "Can you stand the rain"....LOL

  • @shelia926 You are either being disingenuous or blindingly nostalgic.

I was in high school during the 80's. There was a crack epidemic at that time. Homelessness was at an all time high. Cocaine and crack use was at all time highs. S&L crisis had this country in a depression/recession.

Maybe you were younger and sheltered from what was really going on in America. Yes, music during that time was great. However, NWA was popular from 1986 to 1991. The time-frame you referenced in your comment.

  • @shelia926 ..I know what you mean ....this joint takes me back to a place thats warm and sweet........

  • Great song, underrated!

  • Nice song. It makes me wonder why Deon Estus was a one-hit wonder.

  • I LOVE this song. So sensitive, especially, with George Michael on backing on vocals. Thought it was actually him when it first came out. I can definitely tell how intimate that influential connection was. Great pair.

  • @F2Mbody so did too i ...nvr heard of deon til i actually seen the video.. like wut a fake out lol

  • Any song that can give me chills like I'm feeling must be really good!

  • I see the writing on this label but I can't read everything - but George's name is in smaller letters. I heard Deon was Wham's bass player also.

  • George is such a big part of this song's vocals - I wonder why he and Deon didn't get equal mentioning on the label. If they did get equal mentioning - I don't recall that.

  • love the whole of it.....

  • beautiful song.. i was a kiddie when it came about, but an awsome song. I wish we could go back to making music. maybe everyone would not be so mad! I am searching for a song if anybody notices the lyric.. it is a man: the chorus, im a man in this world and i deserve a loving girl, cant you see why dont you please notice me? .. another part cause i have been watching you, ooohhh girl ive been watching you... then it goes to this chorus again. it is an 80's song. If anyone can help please!!!

  • @alazuan

I just googled the song ur looking for - its sung by Nikki.

  • Oh how I miss the 80's. Most music today has went to the dogs.

  • I can relate to this song today...oh my goodness!

  • Where did this kind of music go? The rap crap song sucks!!!

  • @kropek2008 I really don't know.. .sure would be nice if this kind of music was still around! Miss the music from our day! :)

  • Remind me of my high school days, still loving this.....

  • i was a kid i was around 6 or 7 I loved to jam to this on the radio... I love the last part of the song!!! where has the music gone when I could jam on the radio I cant do that no more I have to jam to my cd's RADIO SUCKS!!!

  • Man This brings me back!!!!!!!!!

  • classic love song.......

  • Love this song!!! I use to play it all the time back in the day!!! I'm glad that it was posted!!! Thanks

  • george could do no wrong in the 80s...even on back up vocals!

  • Such a lovely song. Still feels like yesterday when I first heard it as a youngster.

  • Absolute CLASSIC!!!

  • Heaven

    Heaven help

    Heaven help me

  • The first time i actually read the lyrics, I realized how much great of a great and beautiful song it is. Song typifies the need to keep on going and to move one. A true classic

  • @moenia12mx i was thinking the same thing.

  • Funny when you remember a song from way back but don't know any info. This song triggers so many memories, both good and sad. I'm glad I at least remembered enough lyrics to find it. Beautiful, heartbreaking song. Life has come full circle already.

  • @ChrisDom71 I feel EXACTLY the same way. It takes me right back to the senior year of high school -- with all of its plusses and minuses. I heard it on the 80s channel today and came online to find it. Good times.

  • I agree with a lot of these comments...such a soothing song to my ears from back then to now

  • Must be a great feeling 2 have George Michael doing ur backgroundz...huh?!!!

  • @w3345 Well, Deon played back up for George as Bass player in the group WHAM ! in the 80's. One good turn deserves another...This is a good thing !

  • This song 2 me is Omaha Neb Bellevue/Offiut AFB 1989/90' Fairchild Circle *eyes closed*

  • Heard this 15 years ago and ever since then, I could never get it out of my head. Whenever I hear this on the radio today, it takes me back to those innocent pre-teen days.

  • great song. you can easily tell that this was a george michael produced track.

the production of the track is very similar to george michaels faith album

  • George Michael's smooth voice in the background! ah yeah!

  • This song was like a ballad of saying goodbye to the 80's kinda sad and appropriate.

  • @SSGT1968 Yeah, it is - '80s were the best of times and I miss those young, free, & innocent days of just being a kid when life was simpler

  • @dreamweaversable It really wasn't simpler, it just seems that way because we're older and less naive about how the world works.

  • I just heard this on the Sirius Love channel this morning, I had to come and look it up. Love it!!

  • They don't make music like this anymore.

  • Although Deon's vocals are fabulous, imagine this being George lead vocals version? Could of been amazing on Faith. I wonder if there's a version with his vocals in the archives somewhere.

  • Of all places to hear a song for the first time, I heard this one on the headphones while getting an MRI. Hearing that song was the best part about that MRI experience. This song made me feel good in a way only a well conceived song could. Quality it seems, never dies.

  • I finally heard this song purely by accident on the Sunday radio this morning.....OMG so long since I've heard it and I've tried over and over to remember something that would help me find it.....I cried it's so beautiful.....

  • despotcustodio

This is a rare music that connects your soul and nature.

  • OK, that intro (bass hrmnics, the trmpet, those chords on the kys, acoustic gtr or that insanely loud rim shot-- just b4 1st verse)? Whispered vocals? The drm prgming? The vocal arrangmnt (how he phrased and sang "oh, such a waste of time...")? 4 a pop song, there is more groove in this track than 88% of stufff in the past 20 yrs Grt lyrics, too!

  • brings back memories.. ive been looking for this one song for 25+ yrs!! omg =)

  • brings back memories.. ive been looking for this one song for 25+ yrs!! omg =)

  • WOW! This is my shit!! I loved this song sooo much, Everything George Micheal did I loved! just beautiful. They dont make music like this anymore.

  • Been looking for this song for awhile now. Had it on a cassette tape from back in the day, but of course most if not all tapes are gone. Glad to be reunited with this song.

  • Beautiful song.

  • I heard this song as a child and have loved it ever since. I never knew who sang it until today, just remembered the chorus and typed it in the search field. Songs nowadays just don't groove like they used to.

  • 90K views.....still the recording industry doesn't think there's a demand for this type of music. Sometimes the tail does wag the dog !

  • I heard this on the radio yesterday I had to hear it again. Thank you!

  • love this - and love the comments - I feel the same way - awesome song with such talented musicians involved - I'll never get sick of hearing George Michael on anything and I would have loved to hear more from Deon Estus too - take good care everyone and thank you for posting this :) !!

  • Awesome song, awesome lyrics..... voice as smooth as silk!

  • I don't know why but this song popped into my head tonight and, thank God for youtube, here it is. I've been longing for my teen years lately and I was 16 when this came out. I think maybe subconsciously I'm just sad that the times we live in seem so nihilistic and dark compared to what it was then. The 80's weren't perfect but at least the music was pretty and the attitude was optimistic. Everything is so plastic, forced, and fake now.

  • one great bass player singing with one great song writer

  • I LOVE that breezy, sunset, cruising-by-the-ocean sound of slow tempo songs from the late 80's early 1990's.

  • @Cranberry333 You hit the nail on the head honey!!! That warm breezy grown and sexy, sipping champagne on the patio or veranda with your beau under a full moon

  • Great song!

  • Met Deon at George's C2C show in Philly on 10/29/91. Very nice guy! I think he was impressed that I was actually talking to him about his record...and then, about his bass solo in the long version of I'M YOUR MAN!

  • a beautiful song in which people i know even remembers. I love this song.

  • I like this song, it's so soothing

  • I like this song, it's so soothing

  • @Shaliecia1980 I am becoming a bigger fan of satellite radio, as radio becomes more dull and repetitive. Although I will always think I am the best DJ :-) The 80s were great and to be a kid during those times was so fun. We need to bring that back in this day in age. We are long overdue. The 2000s were just some uninspired times, especially the later half of the decade. And it still continues into this new decade with this current music.

  • GOD I LOVE THIS! I bought this on 12". It must have been summer 1989, I'd just met a nice bloke - who I ended up marrying! What lovely memories......
