I was religeously following this incredibly entertaining tv series right from the 1st episode, as I don't live that far away from Goathland, where of course the series was mainly filmed.

Such a shame that the plug was eventually pulled by clueless chiefs in charge of yourkshire tv. It's also a fact that once the irreplaceable Bill Maynard was given his Marching orders, that the death knell of the series was slowly beginning.

reminds me of when I was a little kid at the age of 8 or 9 man I really miss my childhood. still the time of the celtic tiger in Ireland during the 90s was a gr8 10 years best ever 10 years of my life. It was a really good soap programme back then & has a really catchy song aswell thats the main reason why I watched the show.

In my opinion it was the best one of its kind on RTE T,V rock on Nick Berry.

Very nice place! Well worth a visit. The steam trains are still running there and if your lucky you might just get a ride on the Sir Nigel Gresley! One of the best trains ever made.

I could'nt agree with you more.. Bill maynard was truly irreplaceable. Any attempt to put someone else in his shoes failed miserably ( & no disrespect meant to whom is concered on this issue) It's not the show or Bill that shoud have been axed.. It's the brainless individuals who get paid ridiculous amounts of money who make these wrong decisions to stop the series that should have been given their marching orders, not the best actors - or the series.
